Seriously this guy shouldn't be banned. What was the reason? For being annoying? Holy shit, if people were banned for being annoying there'd be 2 people playing on the server. One being Alex and the other being some poor random schmuck about to be banned. Or... actually, can we start banning people for being annoying? If so I can't wait til I see Kever... repeated headshots are wicked fuckin annoying. |

We also get the treat of him whining about Kever when she has absolutely nothing to do with the current situation. I'm not going to hold onto the above garbage you posted. You were probably upset over other things (possibly around forums, based on some of your recent posts) and that boiled over into this thread. Instead of being completely negative about your post I offer this bit of advice: Your post would have been effective if it had been nothing more than, "Seriously this guy shouldn't be banned. What was the reason?" Anyways, here's the explanation you have demanded. STEAM_0:1:11160247 was banned because I was informed this was the Steam ID of a player that had TK'd me and a fellow teammate. This happened twice, and both times the attacker disconnected immediately afterwards. The player reporting the Steam ID appeared to be helpful and legit, so I took his word. You can see notable server log entries here: -[link]- Accepting the Steam ID supplied by "Sumo Florist" was my mistake. I did some research this morning and, after two months away, I am both relieved and disgusted to know that there is no shortage of asshats playing on FTC. Ruskiy, you have my sincere apology for both banning you, and taking a few days to review the logs and determine that I made a mistake. Sorry dude. I did, however, uncover some interesting facts in the process. "Sumo Florist" is Raynor. Nothing seems devious about that because he was probably just playing under a different name as so many people do. The next day I looked up the details of the person who actually TK'ed me and figured out I had banned the wrong ID. At this point I figured it was an honest mistake on Raynor's part (copy and paste gone terribly wrong), and this caused me to ban the wrong guy. I was prepared to make an apology post in this thread and move on, but something caught my attention. The person who TK'ed both Raynor and I connected as a few different names and my interest was piqued when I noticed that the real TK'er shared a name that Raynor had used last month, "Mumbo Jumbo." Here are their FTC HLSX pages: -[link]- -[link]- It could be a coincidence because plenty of people "clone" names off of other players, especially while they are playing at the same time so it creates confusion, etc. But what about two people at the same school? The plot sickens: based on client IP's, both of these guys were connecting from the same institution of higher learning. Disturbing to say the least as it appears someone had pulled a fast one on 'ol alex.  I have no clue whether it was anything personal against Ruskiy, but it's pretty clear that Raynor had a plot to get Ruskiy banned. He had his buddy come into FTC and TK me (and Raynor) and then immediately disconnect. Raynor fed me Ruskiy's Steam ID in hopes that I would take his word, and use RCON to ban Ruskiy's Steam ID.I gotta say, it was a pretty clever because I almost walked away from this thread and left the ban in place. Ruskiy also didn't put up much of a fight here either (he seemed content to pursue other discussions instead). What was really devious was the fact that Raynor's friend killed Raynor too, which instinctively established trust between Raynor and I because we had both been TK'ed. Ruskiy was unbanned earlier and Raynor is indefinitely banned now. Feel free to congratulate Raynor for ALMOST sneaking this by me, or you can ridicule him for being caught.

LoL holy shit! Good work sherlock. Godamn. That's a hell of a little conspiracy right there. Props to Raynor for going through that effort and thinking that through. Negative props however for being a conniving prick and getting caught. And yah Alex, that was pretty passive-aggressive on my part. My bad man, it wasn't in anyway directed at you. I've just been pissed off right and left directly or indirectly with this place over the past week. I'll get over it. Sorry again. |
