We've been talking a lot about increasing our player base. In fact, I think we've had about 9 threads on it in the last few months. Let's talk about some ways that we can bring in new members in a less selective, but still moderately selective way. My suggestion for increasing new players' desire to join FT includes a **temporary, 4 month reversal** of the following: the new "67% yes" rule (back to the +3 margin, no required minimum votes), halving the required hours in the server from 100 to 50 hours, and lowering the required forum posts to 15. (*NOTE* this is a temporary situation to benefit the strength of our clan and player base). Discuss. |

drastic times call for drastic measures. I'd hate to see the server go empty again (remembering the days we had two office servers that were always full) If this is something we can vote on, I'm for it. |

well this thread is a discussion. And i think this is a good idea. I was one of the people who really wanted to get that new voting system in. We had a lot of people coming into the clan at the time, and i wanted to get it limited to a point. But we have to give regs an incentive to keep coming back. Not just from good times, but to strive to be a part of the clan. The requirements might turn them off a bit... so lets revert back to the old requirements for a lil while. I say we make it +3 margin again. Lets also drop it down to 50 hours and keep it at 30 posts. I say we keep this in effect for no longer then 90 days. |

Lower the hours to half, keep the posts the same and the +3 thing could work. Though if they're asshats and they get in.... ima quit. lul |

Guys, I need to stress my disbelief and shame that FTC night failed. Tuesday and Thursday better not suck as bad, or I'm going to lose faith. How about a possible selection of a few people to gain instant access into FT? Maybe that could help us gain member strength and population. I know FoxBox has done a lot to help populate the server (Equal at to least me); My buddy Ch!ves wants to join (He's played here for a decent amount of time when he can), and is a good irl friend. How about Alex? He meets the requirements and is still looked at as our leader. Is instant admission an abomination to our rules or a way to jump start our return? How about, if FTC nights work, holding tryouts? once a week hold a tryout, or biweekly. Accept two people out of the server, just make sure to advertise it? This could be a good way for getting people to your server. A clear reason, to get good to get into FT |

dude when people hear tryouts and getting in, they will shit their pants. we'll pin them against like...Knightrider and 3stripe to see how good they are, and if they suck they still get in! lol. It would benefit us, and they would hopefully bring more traffic buttt, we need to show people that we are one hell of a good time. We need to install more plugins and stuff like that. gungame is fun, but it gets old, we need to constantly have something that we can go back to for fun other than Buckle Nades. As for automatic admission, I think the people you named deserve more than anyone else. Well, other than Kami, but we all see what happened to that....

So this is like a FTC Bailout? Thread needs more Pelosi Srsly tho, I plan to be on more after this weekend, I have a friend visiting from Thursday til Sunday. I just never see people on. HOWEVER, I don't think what's keeping people from playing is too rigorous of a clan admission policy. It's that no one else is on when they want to play! If you want to use membership as a carrot, then say admins are allowed to bestow "credit" on individuals who show superior dedication to the server (ex, logging on with no one else on the server) -- this could be in the form of hours or posts that people need to get nominated. |
