Oh I'm so down. I still play zombie escape sometimes on CS:S. Never gets old. So down for Office.
Also 15 years for me. Fuck man we are getting old as shit.
Also, loving Back 4 Blood. Highly recommend to everyone who enjoys coop zombie action. I play on steam. gLiTch handle was retired with FT. You can find me as theRemedy on Steam friends.

Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

For the revamp of our current system, how should we go about members? Should we keep a voting process or let newbies join without voting? How will we enforce it in stone once we get going again?

To be in the ft community clan it'd have to be a vote. I still like bubble gooses charter for it.

Democracy Style, every member counts for 1 vote. 2. 1 Stage, the Voting Stage. You put your vote (Yes or No), and if you have some comments to add, you do that all in 1 post. (No need for approvals/disapprovals, ever) 3. Nomination/Termination/Policy changes : 6 days. Every proposal is for 6 days. After 6 days, the mob has spoken and the decision is final. 4. Requires 67% (minimum) yes votes, and a 12 vote minimum for the proposal to pass. 5. Threads/proposals cannot expire due to going over the specified timelimit, however votes that are placed after the designated time will not be counted. 6. Minimum Requirements... At least 100 hours on FT servers and at least 30 forum posts before someone could be considered. All it means is that 100 hours and 30 posts is the bare minimum to be considered a 'regular'. 7. A membership termination may be proposed if it is felt that this member is in some obvious way unfit to be part of the community clan. This includes, but is not limited to disregard for rules, general disrespect towards other members or regulars, and major abuse of any admin powers (whether in game or on the FT site). Allow a termination proposal after 2 month grace period of forum and game inactivity. Must be proposed by an [FT] member and voted on by all. 8. A member can only have 1 proposal going at a time. The primary responsibility is on the thread starter to count the votes, declare a pass/fail, and close the thread after the specified time. 9. A proposal cannot be made requesting changes to any FT server's operation, admin list, mapcycle, etc... That is beyond the scope of the clan, and server operation is up to server owners and operators. Proposals that do not deal with the clan, its members, or its operation will be declared invalid by the membership, and the thread will be closed accordingly. 10. Returning Player Courtesy. 50 hours 15 posts for returning FT's before they are eligible for nomination. Clock starts when they make a thread saying they are back and want to re-join FT. A site admin will add an Edit saying what the current hours/posts are and any subsequent # will go towards the total. 11. Any new server that is run by an [FT] member and wishes to be associated/affiliated/inducted into the [FT] clan and community should be taken to a Vote and decided upon by the clan. If the server is accepted by way of a successful vote, the server should have the words 'Fish Tank' in the name/title as a recognition of the server's affiliation with the clan/ community. _________________________________________________ _ I have bolded the ones that I think would impede any growth from the start. If we're going to start from scratch, I believe we need to make those requirements a little more lenient. |

Goose's constitution is pretty solid and i was gonna re-write it 2 days from now. Some of it needs to be tweaked as i feel 100 hours is a bit much for a revamp. Saturday i will post my re-write and see what you all think.

If we're going to start from scratch, I believe we need to make those requirements a little more lenient. The current clan rules should work until it can be described how they should be amended. There is a process for that and we have two months to make sure that process still works--we should follow it, and amend it as necessary. You are raising a serious issue, though: how do we make certain our rules don't stifle growth of an otherwise defunct organization. I'm really trying to shake my old habit of writing 5000-word posts ... this is my quick list on the charter points (some brought up by you, some by me) that may require attention: 4. The 12 vote minimum may be steep but it looks possible. 6. There is no way to track this--not pstats, hlstatx, etc which is a-whole-nother set of bullshit. I recommend amending that requirement until those resources can be established 8. This is a good thing. It keeps people focused on one task at a time, and it also limits the ability of new members to (for lack of a better term) crowdsource recruiting. 10. See my note above on point 6. You can't track this, so you need to find some way to amend it. 11. I bring this one up because you might need to place a limit on how many other servers are being brought into FT. Maybe one at a time, or something like that. It would be awesome to see demand for more FT servers, but growth (it official FT terms) should happen at a manageable pace. Here are other thoughts: I understand you're attempting to foster discussion about amended clan rules/policies, and it definitely needs to be done, but I think we need to stick to FT's long-established policy of discussing clan business out in the open. I'm not entirely sure that I understand how current membership in FT is being established. We obviously have to bootstrap the clan membership somehow, but I'm worried that we may be missing an opportunity to reconnect with old members by not reaching out to more of them, and giving them a window to reconnect. The irony is not lost on me that I left the clan (right? I'm not making this up, am I?) Perhaps it would be a good trial run of the current rules/constitution/policy/whatever to see if you can nominate me and get enough people to vote me in. I should be a shoo-in, right? But seriously, this would be a good way to shake off the rust of the rules and show that they're still valid. All the above bullshit aside, I am aware that this CS:GO incarnation of FT is going to sink or swim after a certain point. I would guess that we have maybe a month or two after launch before it gets extremely difficult to compete with clans/organizations that have their shit together on day one. We're going to have our hands full with getting servers up and running in addtion to the softer side of clan activity. In other words: Let's see if we can stay true to the old rules while adapting/amending as necessary. |

I honestly think what made our clan so want able was exclusivity. I'm not sure how ft worked way back when, but the only rule f7 had was a member on the site, and we thought you were good enough (skill and socially) on the server. Once a week or two we'd hold a private gaming hour or two on the server, locked and play with promising perspective new members, and admins would decide on the spot. Like all popular groups, exclusivity makes things more wanted.

I honestly don't think we need to worry too much about bulking up the roster. A large part of what made FT great was the regulars who weren't members. If we run the server the same way and play the same as we did then I don't see why we can't get full servers again and familiar faces showing up. Once that happens then we can recruit. I don't have the statistics handy but I'm sure we had plenty of non members with a tremendous amount of hours totalled on office and on surf. |

^ I agree with scope, FT had an insane amount of dedicated regulars that weren't in the clan. This is another important part of getting a server to last. You get people that enjoy what you are doing and come around more often, server stays popular, new members join server. I'm also leaning towards what Alex said. The old rules are pretty solid, given we will certainly have to change some because of what we offer as a clan currently. I say we keep discussing and possibly trim it down until we get going at a decent pace but slowly work back towards using the original. Rusty: F7 is a little different mostly because of the types of players that played on it. I'm with you %100 that we should keep that going on the surf server. Office I'm not so sure because the players tend to be a little more serious. Just my tidbit. |

Definitely keep voting. I would also like to register my "no" vote in absentia, to meet quorum, for the next 50 applicants minimum.
