In a previous thread, there was a discussion brought up about transparency with open proposals and closed proposals. Here is the deal. As far as i know, there is no way to make open/closed proposals viewable by clan members only. The sub-forums permissions are all set by its parent forum. If there is a way to change this then im all ears. The only other way i can think of is making open/closed proposals its own forum. You may ask "why all this discussion?" Well when we first started this revival and i was granted forum admin and all that jolly good stuff, i noticed the permissions were viewable and postable by clan members only. I changed this for two reasons (actually 3 but ill get to that 3rd one in a bit). The first reason was because i always remembered it being viewable by everyone. You just couldnt post in it unless you were a clan member. I remember my nomination thread as i watched people vote me in. It was always like that. The 2nd reason i changed it was because i know we as FT are always in favor of transparency. So i changed it to viewable by public. This came under the radar during Fishermans nomination as many people were feeling bad that Fisherman had to watch people vote no. Some people mentioned how it shouldnt be viewable by everyone so i switched it back to clan member view only because it was like that when i was granted admin. Then a discussion started about it. Well the new thread created by Bleek about a possible CS:GO Surf server reminded me of my 3rd reason (and it was my more important reason). I made the FT Community Forum viewable by everyone because we have several important stickies for newcomers to see. One is the official roaster so regulars can see who is actually in the clan and they can get to know. The other sticky is the FT Constitution. This is important for everyone to see because it is the guidelines to getting in the clan. I just wanted to clarify this to everyone who wonders. I changed it back to viewable by all. If people have an issue with prospects seeing their proposal in progress then let me know or start a discussion thread. Maybe we can fix that issue by making it its own forum. |
