Amendments #2 & #3 passed with flying colors, this is the official system to date... Amendment #4 passed as well. __________________________________________________ 1. Democracy Style, every member counts for 1 vote. 2. 1 Stage, the Voting Stage. You put your vote (Yes or No), and if you have some comments to add, you do that all in 1 post. (No need for approvals/disapprovals, ever) 3. Nomination/Termination/Policy changes : 6 days. Every proposal is for 6 days. After 6 days, the mob has spoken and the decision is final. 4. Requires 67% (minimum) yes votes, and a 12 vote minimum for the proposal to pass. 5. Threads/proposals cannot expire due to going over the specified timelimit, however votes that are placed after the designated time will not be counted. 6. Minimum Requirements... At least 100 hours on FT servers and at least 30 forum posts before someone could be considered. All it means is that 100 hours and 30 posts is the bare minimum to be considered a 'regular'. 7. A membership termination may be proposed if it is felt that this member is in some obvious way unfit to be part of the community clan. This includes, but is not limited to disregard for rules, general disrespect towards other members or regulars, and major abuse of any admin powers (whether in game or on the FT site). Allow a termination proposal after 2 month grace period of forum and game inactivity. Must be proposed by an [FT] member and voted on by all. 8. A member can only have 1 proposal going at a time. The primary responsibility is on the thread starter to count the votes, declare a pass/fail, and close the thread after the specified time. 9. A proposal cannot be made requesting changes to any FT server's operation, admin list, mapcycle, etc... That is beyond the scope of the clan, and server operation is up to server owners and operators. Proposals that do not deal with the clan, its members, or its operation will be declared invalid by the membership, and the thread will be closed accordingly. 10. Returning Player Courtesy. 50 hours 15 posts for returning FT's before they are eligable for nomination. Clock starts when they make a thread saying they are back and want to re-join FT. A site admin will add an Edit saying what the current hours/posts are and any subsequent # will go towards the total. 11. Any new server that is run by an [FT] member and wishes to be associated/affiliated/inducted into the [FT] clan and community should be taken to a Vote and decided upon by the clan. If the server is accepted by way of a successful vote, the server should have the words 'Fish Tank' in the name/title as a recognition of the server's affiliation with the clan/ community. _________________________________________________ _ Edited Wed Jul 18 2012, 03:15PM |

Love it, except +3 votes for a vote to win? This means if 10 people vote, 3 - 7 is the only way you can get a vote passed. Maybe this should be a percent or something? GJ goose |

can we lower the minimum nomination days? something like 3-5 is a lot better. most nomination threads dont get new posts after 3. |

Good job, Bubble Goose, Kremit, and a few others cant recall for sure. I am please to see that items are citable, and that there is no fluctuation in proposal length. GOD, why would you want there to be fewer days for members to see a nomination? Wouldn't you want for the proposal to get the most viewers possible? I am very happy with this system, there are a few things that I might start a vote to change (proposal length increase and an increase of hours for nominatable members), but I think I'll see how it goes first. It seems to be working though, **note rick's disqualification based on failure to meet the stipulations of article 6 I did notice something in the thread to nominate rick, however. It is logical that being banned for misconduct would keep from getting in the clan. But to what extent? We need to make an additional ammendment stipulating that being banned from the server means that you can not be nominated for X number of days from the date of the ban termination. Either that, or we could say that if you are banned and let back in, then you have to acrue an addtional 100 hours of game play to prove you have corrected your misconduct. I dont think that 'getting banned ever' means you should not be allowed into FT, there needs to be some sort of rules for rehabilitation of those banned. And again, kudos Goose

Yeah, its been a long road. Thanx for everyone who gave input and suggestions, as we can see, it paid off rather nicely. I didn't mind typing or anything, I'm just glad that we were able to get some results after weeks of discussion. Granted, its impossible to 100% satisfy everyone on every issue. The idea is to gain some common ground and please most people on most issues. With regards to the 6 day set timeframe, obviously some people will want it to be shorter and others will want it to be longer as GOD and Awsedreswa pointed out. Isn't it easier to just agree and compromise on something in the middle, as in the 6 days that is already in place? Having a shorter timeframe will not sit well with some, much like having a longer timeframe might not be welcome either. Average it out and reach a compromise that will be acceptable to most people, heck that's all I tried to moderate in the discussions. There's no roadmap that will lead to a 'common ground', its more of a trial and error/ feel it out sorta thing. But again, anyone can propose amendments and the Survey/Brainstorm thread is still open and can/should be used to finetune ideas to get a grasp for what the community is feeling and proposals can be based on such info. Or not. Feel free to make proposals but for the sake of clarification and organization, keep the amendment numbers in a (chronic)ological order,,, the next amendment would be 'Amendment #4' Krem man, I feel you on the percents, but isn't it easier to tabulate votes without calculators and rounding decimals? If a vote was looking for 60% for a pass, would a 55% or a 54or59% be rounded up or would the values be taken 'as is' and shot down because of 1%? Just for simplicity sake it looks to be easier to count to three and not deal with calculators or 1% margin of errors, but if people would prefer going the calculator route, then by all means. If there are areas the need to be finetuned, then don't hesitate to open a valid proposal. (Don't make a proposal asking FF to be turned off. ) |
