yes they are specifically bashing me for my vote, not mentioning what alex already said about judging the reasons for votes, but i've seen many times before the same arguement that someone says no because they don't know the person(it happened to me for my vote into the clan) By the way, i do play on FTC and last time i checked...i think i am a meber of the clan(which does entitle me to my own opinion and vote). Just because im on surf more than im on FTC doesn't mean im not part of the main FT clan and i do have my own fucking opinion. Sorry if i "offended" anyone...realistically the only one who should be slightly offended at all would be jb, and if i were him...1 or 2 fucking "no" to at least 10 "yes" wouldn't really bother me |

I never said that you couldn't have your own opinion. I am just going off the psychostats. I tried to find your name on there and nothing popped up.

VOTE OR DIE lol this was timed perfectly http://www.fishtankclan.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?22531 I agree with drunk (without the overuse of sarcasm)... all he did was vote no, and he had a right to. BY THE FUCKING WAY No one seems to give THREE FUCKS about fetus's no to jb's entry into FT when fetus simply said "I have a feeling that he has a problem with "fluid exchange" among FT members. So, I vote no." Isn't there something wrong with having a fucking terrible reason for voting no? |

Did you single me out because of some personal animus? What about alexh? The reason behind his vote was just as empty. alexh wrote ... Provided he has no problem with daily "fluid exchange" among FT members then I vote, "yes." Are you too busy eternally kissing alexh’s ass to call him out as well? Isn’t a “terrible†reason for voting no just as bad, in your mind, as a “terrible†reason for voting yes? I love it. You call me out thinking ‘I made a great point; Fetus fucked up’ but you failed to go after alexh with the same gusto. How does shit taste these days, nostie? I’m sure you know. Remember, don’t forget to wear your kneepads. Don't be scared of alexh. Moving on… As a response to your original point, nostie… nostie wrote ... No one seems to give THREE FUCKS about fetus's no to jb's entry into FT The difference here, nostie, is that no one took me seriously. I think you are the only one who did. Look at how people responded to me (and alexh, but you’re too scared to call him out)… CaineDAWG wrote ... I have to agree with Nighrider on this. It doesnt take too much thinking to know the fairness ( or unfairness)of someone voting that never met the nominee. If a reg loses his chance to be in FT because a bunch of surfers never met him is absolutly rediculous. If ya dont know the fuckin guy dont post a vote period. Or say you have to obstain for that particular reason. JB is a great guy to have around and deserves a chance at being in FT. Oh and I too at one time was concerned about a shitload of FTs. Till I realized "who the fuck am I to want to cap this clan". There is NO cap on the amount of FTs as far as I can see. So that vote should be thrown out too.Fetus was jokin around with his NO vote reason. Dont count BS voting as part of the count. Im sure someone will flame me for asking this forum to use common sense, which is lacking on this topic. Edited Wed Nov 29 2006, 07:21AM

This is a pretty interesting topic of discussion. I'll post some of my ideas before commenting on what has already been said. This situation of 'voting for someone you don't know' has been around since the clan started. (As Alex mentioned) Because everyone is entitled to have a say, a person can vote as they personally see fit based on whatever traits they think will make a good member of the clan. Voting "No, because I don't know this person" is just as valid as voting "Yes, he's my bud in real life". Everyone is entitled to a vote and anyone can vote as they see fit. If the vote passes/fails, then woot/oh well. I just want to point something out... If a wannabe member only plays on one server, then the wanna be will not be able to maximize the votes if players from other servers don't know or have never played with him. It is up to the wannabe member to make the effort to play on other servers to make sure he is known throughout the entire community. It is not up to a FT member to go to other servers to get to know wannabe members, its up to the wannabe member to go to other servers to get to know members. If the wannabe doesn't spend the time to get to know other members, then those members will be justified in voting "No, I've never met this person", anyone see the point I'm trying to make? Nightrider wrote ... Jb's recent nomination is my prime example. He has met the requirements for a member, 100 hours +, more then 30 posts. Just to clarify, he has met the requirements for a REGULAR. The requirements for a MEMBER would be a successful nomination into the clan, voted on by existing members. The 100/30 minimum requirements only means that the person can be considered a 'regular' within the FT community. Recall, Dreiz (asswad and big douche) most likely met these requirements too, but would he ever have the chance to wear a FT tag??? No,,,, because he's an asswad and a douche. The 100/30 was intended to prevent nominations of players who only had a small handful of time in the community. Essentially, prevent the players with 12hours and 1 post from getting nominated because the outcome would be 15 "No, I've never seen this person" votes. Again, requesting someone to justify a vague NO vote is equally as ambiguous as asking someone to justify a vague YES vote. I believe that is the point Fetus made in the post above this one. The option to post simple one word votes is available, such as a simple "Yes" or "No", but people who choose to justify their response by saying why they voted a certain way, should not be up for debate. Giving a brief discussion as to why someone voted the way they did is ment to be helpful and allow for more discussion regarding the characteristics and tendancies of the wannabe member. The justification should not bring into question the Member's reasoning, rather, should reflect the wannabe's traits. There are a handful of servers in the FT community and its up to the wannabe member to make the rounds and visit each in order to be known. Just briefly... Recall 2004, the Bush vs Kerry vote. Has anyone actually met either candidate? Lets assume no. Hence, how you chose to vote relied on what,,, TV commercials, public debates, written articles... Same sorta thing applies here. The '30 posts in forums' stipulation is meant to take the place of the TV or print ad in that the wannabe member has the opportunity to reach a large audience (those FTs who check forums) without even having to play on another server. Forum posts are rather revealing about a person as well. (Dreiz example yet again) Primarily, the character analysis should be done based on ingame play, but forum posts are a supplementary avenue. If a wannabe wants to get into FT, then the onus is on him to make the rounds and ensure that he gets noticed (in a good way). That's my 2 cents on the matter anyways. (If you are looking to make an amendment, perhaps stipulate that XX% of the 100 hours(maybe more) should be spent on servers other than the wannabe's primary server. Just a thought. ) |

That is an interesting idea, but what if the member doesn't like to play any of the other servers? It's going to be hard controlling their flow and style of play, especially if they are an office nerd. In a sense, this may sway a member's potential and yearning to join FT. Then again, wouldn't that bring out a member's true dedication to a clan. That kind of sounds like a brilliant idea. It's going to be a tough one to implicate into the clan though. "Just to clarify, he has met the requirements for a REGULAR. The requirements for a MEMBER would be a successful nomination into the clan, voted on by existing members. Essentially, prevent the players with 12hours and 1 post from getting nominated because the outcome would be 15 "No, I've never seen this person" votes." Everyone knew Dreiz was an asswad by his forum posts and constant pleads to be unbanned, ect. Under the 30 posts 100 hours I also specified that JB was well liked by the people that had played with him in the server and known him. That was made clearer by the people that had voted "Yes" in his favor. None of the other "No" votes really bother me, its just I dont like the fact of voting "No" when you don't know the person. "Just briefly... Recall 2004, the Bush vs Kerry vote. Has anyone actually met either candidate? Lets assume no. He has made an introduction but in a sense, not everyone reads forum posts or posts on here enough to know that he does. Although I have noticed his other posts have been mostly in the philosephy section (Not many people really read that part.) Perhaps this is why he is not known as well out of the server. Other then that, maybe your idea Bubble can make it in here in the future as an idea to further show a possible member's dedication. And for those of you that think there is too many people in the clan, perhaps this will decrease the percentage of members joining the clan. I still expect to see the clan's number grow, (And I hope it grows). And my last thing, if you do put your hours into one server, wouldn't it also be up to the clan member to play at other servers too? I mean some people never come out of surf or Office at all. I'll use myself as an example of someone that does. I have been surfing alot lately, I make it to Assult server alot, and most of my hours in FT have been at the Office server. But I do make it to as many servers as I can so I know everyone primarily. I think that all members should take this into account and try and play at as many FT servers as possible. That way, everyone knows everyone. Yes, this is going to be very hard because nobody really likes other servers, and they are content with the servers that they are at. But if they want to know more people, then this is one other way to do it. If anyone thinks of another way, let me know. Edited Wed Nov 29 2006, 12:23PM |

Fetus, I don't care that you voted that way, I'm just a bit pissed that only drunkirishmafia was singled out when many more people voted no for equally retarded reasons. I'm not kissing alex's ass... I don't even play with alex... and what would kissing his ass give me? My problem is not with you, it's with the people against people who vote no... Edited Wed Nov 29 2006, 09:19PM |
