Oh I'm so down. I still play zombie escape sometimes on CS:S. Never gets old. So down for Office.
Also 15 years for me. Fuck man we are getting old as shit.
Also, loving Back 4 Blood. Highly recommend to everyone who enjoys coop zombie action. I play on steam. gLiTch handle was retired with FT. You can find me as theRemedy on Steam friends.

Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

As the title says, let's stop outsourcing the needs of our community to other servers, clans, and communities. What do I mean by "outsourcing" you ask? Two poignant examples: SynFull and Ti. SynFull covers the rotational aspect that FT lacks, and Ti covers the competitive aspect. Why are we not able to satisfy the interests of our players in these two areas? The obvious answer is that we do not have servers and sub-organizations that fulfill these needs. Instead of blaming other orgs/communities like SynFull and Ti we should be gathering our resources and planning to provide as many reasonable outlets for FT CS:S involvement as possible! It's taken some time for me to get my head around the idea but seeing players leave FT Classic to join spend time on SynFull and Ti servers isn't necessarily a failure on my part or of FT Classic in general. I don't like the idea of seeing a large base of FTC regs and admins rooted in an external clan, but it goes without saying that our current offerings of office, surf (and SMG, I think) only go so far. Being negative about organizations like SF and Ti drawing players away from FT Classic doesn't help much. In the past I've chosen to be pissed off about it, but today I am suggesting something constructive to our community. With that in mind, why do we not take another stab at facilitating an FT competitive team as well as an FT rotational server? There is an obvious interest in both and, instead of outsourcing these needs to external clans/orgs, we can keep it all inside the Tank! I am very willing to financially contribute towards these ends. I suggested this idea to my fellow FTC Ops / Lead Admin earlier today, and I got a coincidental PM from Goat suggesting a similar idea. He has generously offered to front some money for such endeavors (and I will not say exactly how much because that is entirely up to him). The point is this: people are willing to help and I think we've all been a bit dim-witted by not thinking of this idea sooner! I intend this thread to be a general discussion among FT'ers. There will obviously be some issues raised, especially the failed attempt at "FTc" in the past, as well as some uneasiness concerning SF anf Ti. I am willing to do my best (and persuade others) to avoid losing sight of the potential to expand our community and keep The Tank full of happy fishies. Let's do our best to keep things positive! Who else is interested in seeing this actually happen? |

First of all, do you physically posess them? No. So theyre not yours. Dont tell them what they can and cant do. By all means i dont mind regulars from either of our servers going to play on an external server regularly, as long as the recruiting does not migrate into our server. as for a rotational server, im all up for it. It would be a great addition to the community of new players and due to our large amount of regulars and members it may catch on better this time. Regardless if we start a competitive team or not, I am keeping my FTc tag on. |

Dont tell them what they can and cant do. Ehh... this is a point that Swrd brought up and I honestly have no idea where the idea of ownership of players gets mixed into the interest of keeping our servers active. Yes, we do not "own" any one, but to be oblivious to the fact that many people know each other solely because of interaction on our servers is ignorance. Our community appreciates activity of regulars, FT'ers, and admins all the like--expecting players to do the same is not asking for them to be "owned" by FT, it's just a common courtesy... simple basic social skills in my opinion. emerican wrote ... Regardless if we start a competitive team or not, I am keeping my FTc tag on. I would suggest something other than FTc as the competitive aspect to FT (if it ever comes to fruition). Also, I want to point out that my contributions toward either/both a rotational server of private scrim/tourney server would only involve financial contributions and/or general SRCDS operational knowledge. FT Classic (and maybe FTZH... some day!) is my bag and I do not want to exert any kind of influence on how the rotation/comp aspects are organized. |

wrote ... I think we're on the same page here, but let me ask this: why have players leave the FT community when we can provide what they want? Some people, in the case of Mikey B and Ti's case, go to the other server because they are friends with someone in that clan and want to play elsewhere with different people for their own reasons. We cannot provide everything everyone wants all the time. Everyone likes something different. Some people like Zombie infection over horde. Some people like climb maps. Some people like aim maps. We just dont have the time, money, or patience to provide all of these things for our players (as is the case for our previously failed servers). This is another reason we are "losing our players". I have heard of people who leave ftc or surf to join some other server due to getting bored or being sick and tired of the admins/way stuff is dealt with. Now, im not calling out anybody or anything that happens over on ftc, as i do not play on the server very frequently, but some people leave just because they want a change of scenery. i remember when we had the rotational server FTPR. In fact i was an admin on it. from the start i noticed a lack of interest. i thought that a rotational server would go well with our players but apperently not. i am all for the idea of a rotational server again and would really enjoy a competetive group, i just dont want to see the same lack of interest that was apperent last time. all i do is warn not to be too hasty and see what the community thinks before jumping on the idea. this clan has changed alot since the last rotational server so maybe it will work this time. i hope so. i am sorry i cannot contribute for my bank account is bassically on lockdown saving for something but if you need my services on admin or anything else dont be afraid to ask.

This is an important point and Im glad to see your addressing the issure instead of getting mad at it. I can personally say I played with the Ti. guys because my CAL team disbanded and I can only stand so much office. FT didnt offer a competitive aspect so I found it elsewhere. As to the competitive side I think you need to look at it realistically and set up two teams. One who is interested in competitive 5v5 team, learning tactics, teamwork ect. and one who is serious about competing. Ive found time and time again that when you dont have serious skilled players on a team everything falls apart. Yes, its great to have a great attitude, love to play and want to learn, but if you cant shoot and bring your team down it detracts from the other players. Its not all about playing and having fun, because if you look at it that way and actually try and compete, your going to get raped, and its not fun. The last Ti. scrimmage i was in was laughable, and we got rolled, and people got frustrated and angry. If you actually want to take it somewhere have one dedicated well trained team and try out CAL-O and CEVO-A and have another team that can scrimmage other clans, but doesnt compete on an official level, and the best can serve as backups. FTC has enough really good players that it could make a team, and if they were really dedicated I think they could go some where. But mixing the really good players with the enthusiastic but bad players wont work out well. Just my 2 cents

the major thing is that if there is going to be a competitive clan it will need to NOT be a "everyone has equal say" democracy. there will be a leader and strat caller. there needs to be a distinctive authority figure. and that way if something goes wrong then it is HIS fault, every1 else fallowed directions and did correctly. i personally would love to be a part of this clan/team. and omega that two team idea sounds good. but IMO, (and if i am gonna partake) leaders need to be defined and chosen be fore anything else happens. |
