Oh I'm so down. I still play zombie escape sometimes on CS:S. Never gets old. So down for Office.
Also 15 years for me. Fuck man we are getting old as shit.
Also, loving Back 4 Blood. Highly recommend to everyone who enjoys coop zombie action. I play on steam. gLiTch handle was retired with FT. You can find me as theRemedy on Steam friends.

Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

I'm coming off an absence but this could be a legit issue. Hear me out. I'm sorry if it seems selfish or that i am trying to close the community in, but there are a hell of a lot of nominations. As far as i could tell with the new "management" we are trying to clean the roster up a little bit. Why not finish clearing the roster and seeing how many members you have at the time, and then nominating new members. Maybe a possibility of upping the requirements for new members. I'm not going to lie i was one of the players who thought "Oh, i'll get the requirements easily" I spent majority of my free time on FTC to get my hours and made many posts on the forums just to get in. After that my activity slowed down. Maybe a higher hour/ post rate to join will help us avoid this? All I'm saying is - the roster is huge. Theres no need to keep adding on new members if we are having trouble as it is cleaning the roster up. Take it in steps and hold the nominations for now to clean the roster and implement a new nomination requirement. Maybe even limit who can nominate you so it isn't just any member nominating their friend? Just an idea. Take it or leave it. Discuss. |

I used to think that a big roster was bad. But i'd hate to deny a really good applicant for the sake of keeping the clan 1 person smaller. I wouldn't increase the requirements. I feel like we are about to ax like 10 people for inactivity, so let's just take it on a case by case basis. If you want to vote to a higher degree, then do so.

FTC is a community clan. I feel we should leave selectivity to scrim clans. Maybe make a selective scrim clan for FT? I'll leave that to someone skilled enough to actually scrim. But for me, seeing a lot of FT members on means I have good friends on both teams. I can't complain about that. Welcome back Havok. Good to see you again (Do you even remember me?). |

I understand what your saying bandito, with the whole community thing. But if i remember correctly there were issues before with the roster growing and growing and growing to the point where people would just show up in the server with the tag on. I could join as '[FT] Nut`in`my`pants' and everybody would be like Hey are you that new guy? you say yeah and your in. Also, I wasn't suggesting a full stop to new members. Just a halt while we clean the roster up. It is hard to dub active and non active, new and old, here or not, when we have 18 new members an hour. It seems like the roster grows faster then we can clean it up. Not every reg in the server has to be a member. If you like the server you will come around until you have met the requirements and you get nominated by a clan member. Its easy when anyone can nominate. Set three-six guys that are on a lot and dub them the "nominators" because they will actually see the "soon to be members" play. It isn't very common for us to vote down a nomination. Give a select handful of veteran members the ability to nominate and thats it that way we don't have so many nominations every week. |

Making it only a select few group of members that can nominate sounds like a bad idea. Prospects will look at these "nominators" and suck their e-penis's constantly, to get on their good side. Instead, I'd propose a different idea. Only ONE Nomination at a time (There can be multiple threads, i.e. discussions and proposals for the way the server works). Also, I think having it be 3 or 5 more yes votes than no's to get in is a bad idea all together. Some threads (i.e. Kever's) have a lot more feedback as she is an extremely well known player. Other Nominations however, feature maybe 15 votes at the most. I'd propose to either doing 75% or 66% yes votes, or something of this sort, to be able to join FT. Lastly, the growing number of members and nominations can be attributed to one thing. There is far more traffic on FT than there usd to be way back when. It's not just random, play on the server once, traffic either. It's players looking for a new home. With the combination of skill that we have which no other public server can match, as well as the combination of positive attitudes, and amazing admin staff, Fish Tank is an attractive server to play on. |

Forum posting turns a lot of people off, but to assume that people are definitely interested and turned on, I think we should just up the hour requirements to around say 200 hours (kind of like 925).

I agree with Ninca. I dunno if its too easy to get in or not, but I definetly like the direction the server is going in, and so do alot of other people, so the regs want to fee like a part of it. Plus, having a "home server" if you will to play on is great, and we're such a cool community, who wouldn't want to be an [FT]? However, in reference to the inactivity thing, I think we need to reform the policy on how we eliminate inactive players. I think having the whole 'Termination Proposal' and then having everyone vote is a bad system. 1) Because if someone votes for the termination and then it ultimately doesn't go through, the person who was being terminated and the person who voted for it are going to have animosity and 2) the termination system is just way to burocratic. I think we need a more streamlined system for termination. Like, a post every so many days at least and an appearance on the server in a certain period of time, otherwise the player can just get term'd and then try to get nominated back in. That way, we only keep the people who actually want to be in. Just a thought. I mean, I've been mad busy with 4 midterms this week plus a lab report plus my AFOQT (Air Force Officer Qualifying Test) on Saturday, but I still managed to check up on the forums and make an appearance on the server (i think that was this week). If they're really dedicated, they'll make it happen. Sorry to leave such a lengthy post, I know reading all that crap is taxing. Edited Thu Mar 13 2008, 07:02PM |
