Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

Actually yes. That's what I am saying. Worry about your own life. It's somebody else's JOB to worry about those things. If you want those things to become your job then that's your life. Should we let the fijians drown? No man, I'm not cruel, but I'm not going to let it consume one part of me when there's not a damn thing I can do about it besides complain. But the way the system works, in most countries that have a non-communist(ish) style of government relies on the majority of the public to care. And if everyone thinks like you, you are allowing your government to become full in control, or what a lot of people complain about a "big government." So your "all I can do is complain" is actually better then than just accepting the fact. Until you can realize that, complaining can have an effect, you're not worth my air or water... |

Complaining can have an effect, but I'm not going to listen to complaining and I'm not going to be the one complaining. If I'm not bogged down by helping out weak links I can work towards goals to further human structure and development. I'll be the one developing true AI and nanotech and the process would be slowed down if I were to spend all of my time worrying about less fortunate people. I never said it's the government's issue to take care of drowning faggots in indonesia, I said it's somebody else's job to. And it's asinine to say "If everybody else thought like you do" because that's just not possible. You can be the one complaining since you've dubbed it as your job. Thanks for taking the weight off of me and people that think like me. We're called realists. |

Oh wow, they are the one's that I've only ever labelled "worst video I've ever seen on the internet," there was no title to the video so I never knew who it was. I still have knots in my stomach, but it's good to see they are dealing with the consequences. Nothing will make up for the hours they spent torturing other people... and I completely agree with Rusty, you have to care a little bit. You are saying you do just not enough to do anything about it, but that's better than nothing at all. The people that laugh it off are insecure with what they feel, and will likely grow up to be sick fucks. But only one person in the group of laughter started the laughter. Much like the third wheel in the Maniacs, somebody in the group sparks the idea, and puts it into motion. The followers aren't the problem, they are an after effect of fuckers like the Igor guy. btw - insert Russian joke about Ruskiy? Edited Fri Dec 18 2009, 07:57PM |

well said peace. me and rusty were just showing you all both sides of the argument so you can make your own decison. You don't have to be a pussy, but you also don't have to be a douche, although a magnificent douche. | ||

Well I get what you're saying Amish, but I'm not the type of person who can agree with that. I guess you can say I'm on "Rusty's side." I might sound like a pussy and you can judge however you want; but I care a lot about people other than just myself or my family. Your pursuit of technology may help people in the long run, but I want to be the person who is saving lives on the spot. I know that complaining won't solve as much as doing something about it, so that's why I am. I've thought about just letting other people do the work for me as you think like. Sometimes I wonder though; will I change into a person who won't leave the door open for somebody, help a friend out, or even be able to love anybody but myself and my family? I honestly don't want to live like that because I think it's a very shallow and un-fulfilling life to live. I know that also what you guys are saying about not being a douche and all that, but I think there's a certain line between being a caring and an uncaring person. If you keep staying in the middle, you won't trust yourself to do what you should or shouldn't be doing. At least that's my opinion. Zero wrote ... I think that's a good point Zero. I never really got that far into that level of thinking about that, but I think that's very true and is truly scary. When you think about it it's true for not just the horrible things people do, but also the good things.

Ready for the voice of reason to shed some light? Behold! You gotta realize it's the world you live in. It's not very different from the world anyone else has ever lived in throughout the history of man, the only major difference, is now we have digital cameras and are linked to most other houses on the planet. As always, there's good people and bad people, good people film shit like sporting activities or How-To-Make-A-Lamp videos, bad people film people being beheaded... (actually the beheading videos imo, were infinitely worse than the 3 guys 1 hammer video, simply because the dude that gets beheaded actually... made noise and shit... u know and moved... for a few moments anyway...) But I also get upset when I see this stuff, which is why I don't watch it. But here is the appeal and why things like this gather a relatively large following. In our increasingly desensitized society, there continues to be the proverbial holy grail of shit that is FUCKED-UP. In other words, fucked up people, get kicks, posting continuously more fucked up shit, until eventually (and modern media has toyed with this idea in cop dramas and shit) I believe, you will be able to watch people be murdered live for a few bucks and might even be able to interact with the program to determine how that person will die. "For $15, we will set them on fire." "$5 bucks will only get them shot in the face." etc. Don't think we're not heading there. You can't regulate the internet. Even in China there's ways to get past their "firewalls" and into the rest of the world. Like the invention of guns, some will use it for good, some will use it for evil. So what do you do? Unfortunately your only options are to watch it, or not watch it. You don't really have any other choice. It doesn't matter what opinion you form if you do or do not watch it, because everyone will have an opinion. You can't expect the government to regulate this shit because it's almost impossible once it's out there. And I wouldn't appreciate someone else deciding what I can and can't see. Be an adult about it. As for people who make fun or jokes or whatever about horrible tragedies. Well fuck those people, usually they don't mean what they're saying as humour is usually the easiest way to diffuse an uncomfortable situation. And well shit... you're what you said in school? So you're surrounded by what, kids and it's no secret that kids, aren't fucking funny. You ever meet a funny kid? On a professional comedic level? The answer is no. So obviously the jokes they make to hide their discomfort are going to suck... be immature and probably offensive on many levels. Try showing this video to a group of 35-50 year old people. What type of reaction do you think you would get? I would bet mild disgust, maybe some slow shaking heads of people saddened by it and maybe some mild outrage. The response you're condemning is that of a very limited number of adolescent idiots I presume. So then there's that.... What was the fucking question? Moral of the story. Raise your kids to know the difference between right and wrong (start with Aristotle, leave religion out of it) and if seeing shit like this is going to upset you or in anyway be a detriment to your life, then DON'T WATCH IT. But it's not going away and I predict it will only get worse as technology and access to this type of content improves, family values deteriorate and people actually click this stuff... What was that saying? If you want something to truly disappear forever, you need to pay it zero attention. In that sense, you are actually contributing to the popularity of this type of footage. With this very post I bet you will introduce a few unlucky people who perhaps never saw it and in turn will introduce some more people... and more and more... exponentiially. If you want it to stop, don't watch it, don't share it, refuse to discuss it, refuse to let it affect you and don't give a shit about what other people think about it or about you. It's the same reason I don't watch the Saw movies. Or ever visit that website whose name I forgot with all the graphic war footage and shit. (see I forgot the name of the site... how am I ever going to share it with anyone? I can't if I don't even know what it's called) You gotta just not propogate it man. Spread some good shit around, send out links to funny movies or happy shit. I remember one time on facebook someone posted a link of a movie filled with horrible car crashes and shit. Mutilated bodies and crap at like 9am in the morning, the message was "Don't Text While Driving". I was like WHAT THE FUCK I DON'T WANT TO WATCH THIS. And figured many people had the same reaction. So what did I do? Went to youtube and searched "Cute Animals Playing" and found all kinds of videos of fun happy shit that makes you smile and laugh. I posted that as a reply to the other girls' video. I had like 50+ comments of people saying "THANK YOU THAT MADE MY DAY". Be the difference. Be the guy who does what he feels is right and ignores what the crowd is doing. Be the guy who can turn a negative situation positive with a little humor and ingenuity. Be the guy that has the funny one liner or the uplifting story that you tell at the right moment that changes the subject, or makes someone forget they ever even saw something that tragic. You gotta be positive. Positive attitude positive energy. And it'll be tough, in this world, with shit like this. But if it's important to you, you gotta do it. Don't get all pissed off though and angry, don't call someone out on it, don't attack someone personally for their opinion on a stupid video... just keep the conversation moving. Don't let people dwell on the negative shit in life. I gaurantee you there's more people in the "group" who would rather talk about something else. Girls especially and you will immediately appear to be the funnier, classier, more intelligent individual in the group when they're making jokes about the way eyeballs sound and you're making jokes about simple observations everyone can relate to. (weather, work, relationships, etc.) If you need help spinning something positive, I suggest watch the stand up of people like Demetri Martin, Daniel Tosh, Mitch Hedberg and Jim Gaffigan. These guys have incredibly funny material, that is usually positive, upbeat, conversational and relevent. Learn to take a conversation by the horns, learn to steer it in the direction you want it to go. It's simple really, timing is everything. Good luck, stay positive and avoid this type of shit if it truly bothers you. (like I do) Edited Sat Dec 19 2009, 01:48AM |

Here to illustrate my point I wrote some QUICK jokes in regards to this type of shit. Really it took like 15 seconds so if they're not great fuck it... but it would be useful in any casual conversation. "So I saw the worst shit I've ever seen in my life the other day... Thank you YouTube for making this a weekly occurence. I remember when the worst thing I ever saw in my life, was that gay rape prison video... holy shit I never thought I would prefer to watch men forcefully fuck other unwilling men before... " "I'm not going to get into details, because I thoroughly hate this kind of thing and hate to give it publicity, but let's just say 3 guys 1 hammer is NOT a How to video. Whoever tagged it as a "Do it yourself carpentry" video is a FUCKING ASSHOLE." "After googling Daniel Pearl video, 2 girls 1 cup and 3 guys 1 hammer at the insistence of friends I've decided... I'm getting new fucking friends. (or) decided ...I'm moving to fucking mars to get away from you people. (or) decided ... I'm NEVER taking someone's advice to "Check this out!" ever again. Oh what you just built a shed and want me to check it out? FUCK YOU! I bet you used a fucking hammer you fucking asshole! Oh what you just scored a sweet ride and want me to check it out? FUCK YOU! Why so I can watch you run people over with it, I'm good." "Thanks... thanks for showing me that... It's 9am and seething hatred for humanity is what I needed to help me get me through my GODAMN day as a SALESMAN!!!" "Check this out!" "If it doesn't involve happiness I'm going to punch you in the face. How's that? Do you still want me to look? No? You sure? Ok..." |
