My roommate has gone through cancer and cancer complications twice. Just back in January they had to slice a 8 or 9 inch incision from his sternum to beyond his navel and remove some of the lymphatic system around his kidneys. I've been through it, this guy is a pretty close friend (and my dad had it too, but that never worried me). I'm always available to talk, whether on steam or email or w/e else. My step-mom is going through some shit now with it. She has precancerous cells in her colon, and apparently they are going to remove her ENTIRE colon, replace it with some bag to collect fecal matter/piss, then do another surgery to make her small intestine function as her large. It's a lot man. The most important thing is to stay happy and be around. Don't do the whole feigned support, like the "Oh, well you'll be alright, you're such a good person" bullshit. Just be there with her whenever you can. Make her feel comfortable. |

yea man that rough to hear but i agree the best thing to do is just be there for her and make her comfortable since you clearly care about her and it's not the worst case scenario possible so be grateful for that | ||

Well Glitch, I've been there before. Not in your shoes, but hers. I had A.L.L. (acute lymphoblastic leukemia). I got 3 years of some hardcore chemotherapy and was actually playing with you guys through it all. Im going to tell you right now man, its gonna suck, and its gonna suck hard. Harder than an industrial grade shop vac clinging on to your dick. All you should do, and all you need to do, is be there for when it does suck and never let her forget you do care. As far as treatment goes, I dont know whether or not your girlfriend is getting radiation or not (although they will likely introduce radioactive iodine depending on the type), the stuff they are going to give her is going to make her feel like shit. If you need anything Glitch, just pm me or something and ill be sure to check it and answer. | ||
