In general the rate of growth of the human population of the world has been steadily declining (that is, population is growing more slowly than in the recent past -[link]- CIA's 'The world handbook' estimates (2005) the world human population to increase by 203800 daily [1]. Under certain conditions, uncontrolled population growth leads to a situation where demands for resources outstrip their ready availability -- a state known as overpopulation (see article for details). Conversely, a declining population can cause a situation where an aging general population can increase relative to the more youthful members of society. This has implications on many levels – not the least of which are the needs of the elderly being cared for by a smaller group of working age people. Kids, do some reading. Don't worry about astronomic catastrophes, k? The timeline is assinine. Even the population problem has a way of working itself out (remember the Bubonic Plague) We've all grown quite accustomed to our over the counter asprin and drive through hamburgers... Any death to civilization will come in the form of a breakdown of infrastructure. Especially in large cities. Any continous interuption of power, water, gas or any of the other basic utilities would result in massive amounts of death and depravity. Terrorists, nukes, financial crisis, accidents... all these things could bring about this situation. There is no preparation outside of one's self. Make sure you're self-sufficient to a reasonable extent (don't move into a cabin in the woods) and buy some guns... and wait... If the collapse of society doesn't get you, the zombies will. |

I was going to correct kddude but kerm already did it will go red dwarf (in other words exspand till it eats our planet). I dout mars or the moon would be a good place to be firstly becouse of the sun that iwll get us will most defnatly get them. Secound it is really cold on mars and the moon so we would have to constantly have heated areas or die. Secound they both lack a suficent autmosphere what dos that mean? Well it means oyu cant breath thing of being up higher then the highest mountan like up where our satlites are and just trying to breath so in other words they would have to live with no outside world. I dont know much of the rescorces mars posses but the moon dosent relaly have much you could use so withotu contact to earth they would most likely die off fairly soon. I say we should solve all the problems identify another earth like planet which we have found many (it will jsut take many many years to reach them at our current speed.) Then send a very large ship full of peopel to it that can carry on for generations till they reach thier target. None of the orignal crew will make it most likely but a lot of peopel will. Other then that you oculd always try to solve the problems of the world but they will just reoccar no matter where they go. Human nature just dosent let us get along all nice and peacefull like. In the end this species wil lether kill itself or spreed so far and vast into the universe that no matter how many times we try to kill each other woff there will still be some left. |

antichrist fool, i dont believe in the 21st december thing i was just saying. in biblical text it says there will be a war of religions in the middle east. a governmental figure will arise to make everything seem alright, he will then expose himself as the antichrist and that is judgement day. god will take all faithful into heaven and there will be an apolyptic war on earth. at the last moment god will descend(or come in the form of man) and defeat the antichrist in combat thus ending the apocalypse. the apocalypse will be hell on earth, skin literally melting off of your bones and eyeballs disolving from your head. it has ALL been said and so far it has come true, i believe it. | ||

kremit wrote ... less than 1 billion years our sun goes 'red dwarf' and kill us al due to the heat it would give us. you do realize that a "red dwarf" would give off less heat than the current sun.... btw..1 of 2 things can/will happen to our sun..forgot all the steps..but it turns into a black hole eventually....or it goes to red dwarf blah blah sun gets really small...then really large and engulfs all the planents(this is all realtive if i remeber correctly from like 8th grade) |
