| Do you think Television affects who people vote for in the election? | ||

I think that for example so many teens see Barack Obama and hear his stories of how he "experimented" with marijuana, they feel like they bond more with him. It makes people look at the persons image instead of what he has to say, and it suckers people into voting for the person. Im not calling people who would vote for Obama a sucker, it was just an example. |

i agree with tits. i have no idea what obama stands for, but he's a great speaker, and seeing that on TV inspires me to want to vote for him. | ||

I think that Obama has gotten hold of so many young voters not because he "experimented" but because he is an excellent speaker. He is such a great speaker that he grabs hold of the listeners so you pay attention more to what he is saying. Not to mention that he has some excellent ideas so you realize that more when you start to pay attention. Just my two cents for what it is worth.

Well, I can say, thankgod you can't vote nost. I'm very politcally aware. I will vote for who I think has the best policies to help out our country, and a big factor in voting right now, especially for democrats, is who is going to pull our troops out of Iraq. From what I've heard, this is Clinton, Obama, and Edwards. But this doesn't have anything to do with the question at hand. As a communications major in college, I study political media, and all sorts of things in that nature, and know a very large amount of knowledge. And you want to think about a free press, but in America, there is no liberal media, every journalist/newsource is now biased. This is very dangerous to the people, but huge for the government. If you guys also want to know something huge, there are only four companies that own all the big newspaper, every TV and Radio station, and are trying to take over the internet (thank god this would take years to accomplish, and the FCC won't let it happen). This leads to a huge bias, I mean, just look at Rupert Murdoch (sp?) he owns Fox, and fox news, he is a hardcore rightwing conservative. You ever watch fox news, please understand you aren't getting news, you are getting a one sided ass whooping of any democratic politician. There is a documentry you should all watched, it is called Out Foxed, I know there is a link on google videos for the whole documentry, I hope you all watch it, and learn something. This is about an hour and 18 minutes, but is worth every second. -[link]- |

I never said that I WOULD vote for him Rusty. If i could vote in 2008 I'd study everyone's plan for our country. Since i can't, I only watch snippets, just as, i believe, the average american does. Obama has been very successful in getting himself out on the airwaves, and this is directly linked to television and its link to the presidential election. | ||

I dont give a shit about politics but i DO know that the media has a HUGE effect on peoples desicions..for anything. People see something on TV and think its true, also the media has a tendency to dramatasize events, even falsify or twist dramatically. "if it bleeds it leeds" meaning if someones hurt lets twist it around and make an attn grabbing story...even if it is already an attn grabbing story | ||
