Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

(Sorry Omni, this is going to be long) I am posting this thread to express my beliefs and theories by which we were created. However, if you do respond to this thread, I expect it to be mature, and intelligent. If it turns into a flame war, I either delete your post or lock the thread. This is your opinion. This isn't meant to anger anyone. This is just to inform people of your beliefs. I think I have made other threads like this before, but this one I intend to break it down the most. Now, I have changed a lot throughout the years. I used to be a religious person when I first got here. I believe in a power that is higher than us that had created us, however, the thought of how even his existence came to be is a question among others as well as myself. We use theories, beliefs, to give us a sense of hope in where we go when we die or what will happen. Some believe that religions were created in order to establish order and raise fear among people into doing what is right. Morals were invented, prophets came to be, ect. Aside from that, we try and answer questions of how we came to be. Thus, religion was born. And there are so many different forms, so how do we know which is right? You can't say there has been positive results from it either. Wars, violence, ect. You can blame almost everything that's going on in the Middle East over religion. If the whole focus of religion is to become holy, why are people killing each other over it? None of it makes sense to me. However, even though I am against most of the laws of my religion (Which happens to be Christianity) I can't give up the thought of there being a higher being. The bible is many people's answer to questions and reflects most of the morality that exists in our country and most other countries today. However, it has been changed around and most of if is hard to believe. People splitting bodies of water in half, God talking to people from burning bushes, ect. How come none of that exists today? It seems like the Catholics took the bible when they were either drunk or high, and made it into a far-fetched fairy tale. This is my reasoning for many people saying "The bible is a load of crap". No kidding. It probably never was that way. You think of genetics, and how they were designed to the last detail. There isn't ever a perfectly identical finger print. Although we may look alike, we are not the same. There are different species. There's plants, there's animals. How does one thing explode into that. What separated a rock from flesh? Paranormal events happen too. Although scientists have tried many ways to explain it, there really isn't. How can someone levitate, or make raindrops literally change direction (Happened in a house in Pennsylvania not too far from where I live). Most cases are violent, and explanations have been superhuman rage. There is no explanation for cups picking themselves up and heaving across a room. My biggest turn off is the fact that everyone that has a belief is encouraged to spread it to everyone else and in some cases force it on others. This is where wars start. People die because someone can't respect someone else's opinion. I sat in different churches that would show videos of how they would spread the word, and there would be tragedies of natives killing them. Everyone's all surprised, except for me. They want left alone. As do anyone else that has a personal opinion. You can try to change someone's mind with words, but not with actions. And people today and yesterday can't get that through their skulls. It hurts anyone that questions their existence's brain. Most of us are still breathing from faith. But the only answer we can get is when we die. Until then, we are on our own with our personal beliefs. Edited Fri Feb 08 2008, 12:27AM |

I do not beleive in heaven. I do not beleive in god. I beleive in a supernatural force that created the universe. |

I don't think that we will find "answers", when we die that's it game over. But I would like to believe that we move on to a second life etc.. I think that religion started because people started asking questions, too many questions. So others started a faith that would explain to them their needed answers and stop everyone going potty, that's it. Yet I can't help to believe that there must be a higher power that created our universe and others ,but then who created this force, Christians say that "No one did God is ever living and ever lasting" or something along those lines. (this to me is one of their answers to one of their questions that was just blindly given) I see us as animals living and surviving on earth by any means necessary, similar to earths other creatures, yet beacuse of our superior brain development that is needed for humans to survive we begin to question why are we here. So I believe each religion is true for they all succeed in their purpose , giving people hope. Do think dogs or cats are religious? No. So why are humans blessed with the truth that they will go to heaven when they die when we are nothing but animals ourselves? As you've already guess I believe that we're not blessed with the knowledge that we will go to heaven, it's just come clever guy giving people hope that their life was worth something. But then something must of started all of this, the universe, the planets, the different species and basically all life in general, mustn't there be something out there? Basically fuck if I know what's going on and I truly believe I will never know. |

I believe that there is no "God" except for the "God" we create in ourselves. For me, my conscience is "God". It controls my actions and feelings. It gives me thought, morals, and emotion. For any of you, it could be just a floating cloud of dust that started the universe. Hell, it could even have created the world and life in seven days. It's all up to you. That's the problem with the so called "God" in our society. "God" is a lackluster definition that's been absurdly translated by a half trillion different people over the last 20,000 years. Doesn't a glazed vision of "God" show up in your head every time you hear the word? Most people view their respective Gods the same way their forebears did thousands of years ago. People refuse to create new definitions for their beliefs. What I'm trying to say is this: It doesn't matter if you follow a structured religion, you're an atheist, or you follow your own train of thought. Your "God" exists only because you live your life in a way that allows your thoughts or "God(s)" to affect you. I'm not being sarcastic. Your faith in any being, existent or not, affects your life and brings qualities to your character and life that encourage you to sustain your belief. And I think that is where the essential good in life shows through. |

I am personally a "catholic" but not necesarily by choice. my parents raised me to be catholic i went to church got confirmed the whole deal. So my whole life i've been waiting for this feeling of belief to hit me. I did all these things because i just thought thats what you do and never really thought twice about it. But now i'm not so sure. I sit and wonder quite often "what the fuck?" theres so much i'm supposed to be doing as a catholic but if i dont really believe that then whats it all for? so after a long time of pondering this i now believe that yes there is a god, but my religion(catholic) is a bunch of absolute shit.. everything thing about just seems so hypocritical.. and not just my religion but in general.. one thing that really upsets me is how religions are so against the gay community. The fact that they can cut down gay people and say that they will go to hell for "what they are" is just ridiculous. The whole belief is love thy neighbor, not love thy neighbor unless there gay then they can go to hell.. its just insane.. so personally i've just decided that it really isnt important. Live life, have fun, make decisions to your liking, and have no regrets. regretting a decision is completely pointless and isnt going to get anyone anywhere so fuck it.. do what makes you happy and fuck everyone else

Well, this may seem a little far fetched, but for all we know, we could be some aliens cruel experiment. I mean come on, theres UFO sightings, whats to say aliens did not create us, and are what we say "god" is? What if the UFOs are our creators seeing what we have done? Whos to say that the idea on southpark is not true? Also, I believe that every person has the ability to achieve things such as super human strength, but only if someone they truly care about, or their own life is in danger. Studies also show that people use 10% of their maximum brain power. If we used around 50% (I believe that was it, not sure) we actually could alter the path of objects without lifting a single finger. Hell, hopefully one day we do figure out how to use the other 90%. Hopefully we also find the answer to our existence. Honestly, while we have no answer, why not just try to make life better for the next people on earth, instead of trying to kill off all the "terrorists" and things of that sort.
