It really sucks to be a Bengals fan right now.

This is the first time all season when we can say that we haven't lost in three weeks. We almost blew a 21-3 lead, then we had a bye week, and then we tied. Best we've done all season. So yes, we know that we suck; it's plain as day.

Fans are used to losing though. We've had one good season in the last decade, and our playoff hopes were cut short by a cheap hit from a Steeler. What really hurts though, is that EVERY TIME I turn on ESPN or any sports show, I hear the commentators and reporters laughing at the Bengals. Then Ocho Cinco does something stupid a few days later (like getting suspended for a division game tonight), and it gets brought up again how much we suck.

Our owners suck, which is why we never change anything. The great Paul Brown has been replaced by his son, Mike, who is more of a business man than a GM, which he likes to think of himself as. Mike Brown needs to be chased down I-71 followed by a mob with torches and pitchforks.

From Wikipedia, "Shortly after [Paul Brown's] passing, Mike Brown decided that making a profit rather than winning was the new agenda of the Bengals franchise."

This story needs to be told, as it defines exactly what the problem is with the Cincinnati Bengals:

My co-worker's friends went to the Dallas-Cincinnati game earlier this season. After we were getting thoroughly licked, these Cincinnati fans, stationed right under Mike Brown's private box, made a sign that said "Fire Mike Brown" and waved it up at the private box. Katie Blackburn, the team's Executive V.P., came down and ripped it from their hands, shrieking "You don't know how hard it is to run a football team!", and she got the reply, even from surrounding Cowboys fans,

"THEN HIRE A GENERAL MANAGER!"

I love the Bengals, and I love Pro Football, but sometimes I question if it's even worth it to watch the games if the owners of our team don't give a damn if we win. Honestly, how the fuck do you justify a 1-8-1 season? Actually, how do you look at ONE above .500 season since 1990 and not think, WE NEED A GENERAL MANAGER, or at the very least, WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT.
