I'm going to predict Cackalacky loses on Tuesday in Buffalo and goes back home for seven... then The Canes win! If it's Edmonton and Carolina then I'm not sure who I'd like to see win. Carolina has battled so hard in this series against Buffalo but didn't have much trouble against NJ. Cam Ward bailed Carolina out after an 0-2 start against Montreal in the QF's, however they were seeded at #2 in the playoffs so I expected them to do well. Edmonton fought a tough few series against the WC #1 seed Detroit (possibly my most hated franchise) and San Jose (quite possibly my #2 most hated franchise only because they seem to do well against St. Louis in the post-season) so I've got much respect for them, but they didn't have a terrible challenge in the Western Finals. Chris Pronger, the former captain of STL during their glory years around the turn of the millenium, and one my my all-time favorite players, is up for the Conn Smythe... so I tend to side with Edmonton. Also, Roloson has flat-out won games for the drips and he deserves much credit for their sucess as he is also in the hunt for the Conn Smythe. I dunno, though -- seeing the veteran face-off and scoring leadership of Rod Brind'Amor, the legendary potential and 15-game post season scoring streak of sophomore Eric Staal, and the handsfuckingdown brilliance of rookie Cam Ward in net makes me want to lean on Carolina. I still haven't decided. Perhaps I should wait to see who wins the Buffalo/Carolina series.

I hope to see Buffalo out of the Eastern Conference simply because I live about 1.5hrs North of that shithole and I wouldn't mind seeing the Oilers beat up on the Sabres in person. The Oil are just raging too hard to be derailed right now. Hopefully the long lay-off will help some Oilers get over teh flu and take a much needed rest and prepare themselves for the Cup. Finally I can dust off my old Edmonton Gretzky jersey and laugh at the flashy new jerseys on peoples backs. I can be like, "Bandwagon! haha I Big-Uped the Oils from back in the day! Pansies!"

Congrats to Carolina! Eastern Con. Champs! THat was a great game. Carolina was up, then Buffalo, but Carolina won 4-2! That was great hockey! |

Crap! This just makes it harder for the Oils to win. Buffalo wasn't at full strength, but I was looking forward to making the trip to teh Derrty Derrty (Buffalo is a shitstain) to see the Oil in person. I ain't goin all the way to Carolina during Hurricane season. (Pun) Well, HOPEFULLY the Cup finale will make it to see 7 games. I still gots more drinkin to do before Soccer becomes the prime directive. (OIL in 7, any takers?) | ||
