Don't take this shit like it's going to be something incredibly dramatic. The first stock market crash was bad because everyone ran to the banks to get their money out before all hell broke loose. Banks fell because they didn't have the money and thus things were as bad as they were. People are not going to banks and getting their money now, so what makes you think that it's going to be anything worse? As I see it now, I think it would be better to raise taxes, and not have some dipshit making 700 billion bailout plans. People are purchasing these loans overseas, and guess what that's doing? The value of the dollar is decreasing, so inflation is going to be even worse. You're going to be working for pennies soon enough, and it's going to be wheelbarrels of money just to buy a loaf of bread or water. The good thing is that this is a global occurrence. Most of the world is suffering if not all of it, including Europe and Asia. But guess who's not suffering at all? The middle easterns. Guess what happens when you laugh at them for being third world? They rise above you from the oil that you've been buying off them. However, thanks to us sticking through and not using our oil reserves, we have something that could possibly do us a little good. If we let a country that is in high demand for oil other than ourselves import the oil and make a revenue off of them, perhaps that could increase the amount of the dollar a little bit. It won't do much, but it's worth a start. Obama needs to support offshore drilling. It's time America has taken the middle eastern's ideas for oil. They're the ones that are thriving on success, we're the ones that are taking a fall because we aren't. We have the resources, we just have conservatives that aren't willing to use them. Oh, and also, the only people that will really be harmed if the bottom falls out of our economy is the rich people. The value of the dollar goes down, they're fucked. The poor can barter their way to survival, the rich have no damn clue. Although you should not take this situation lightly, you should not take it so seriously either. If you're poor, well, you're used to being poor, so what does it matter to you? If you're rich? Enjoy being fucked. |

Raising taxes is the LAST thing we want to do to stabilize the economy. Here's a little lesson for you all. Okay. Little Timmy is pissed off. The economy sucks, gas prices are ridiculous, and food costs more and more each day. Timmy bitches to the "Big, Bad Government" about his problems. The Elected Government Officials are like, "Hey, if we want to get re-elected, we're going to have to make these idiots we represent like us." So, the "Big, Bad Government" wants to look great in the eyes of the struggling people. The poor people see "Big, Bad Oil" CEO's making billions annually. The "Big, Bad Government" decides that to get the public support, they are going to attack those "Dirty, Evil, Corrupt Oil Execs". But the economy starts to shit out even more, and Timmy doesn't understand why. The Government took money from the "Evil" Oil Companies, but Timmy never saw that money, and his food and gas and living expenses keep rising. Little did Little Timmy know, those Oil Companies and other multi-million dollar companies affect everything in American economic culture. Gas prices going up means that it costs more to grow, harvest, and ship corn and wheat. Instead of cutting taxes to help the oil companies lower prices, people want alternative fuels... Corn-Based Ethanol! But that just causes the price of corn to go up more, and more for gas, too. Soon milk, cheese, meat, vegetables and fruit all go up in price too, because the corn makes it more expensive to raise, feed, and milk cows, chickens, and pigs. These animals also provide manure that helps produce the vegetables and fruits you eat. Because you thought it was "Big Oil's" fault, you're paying more for food all around. The moral Little Timmy learned from this experience is that the Government is shitty and inefficient, and giving them more control over you fucks you and your world up even more. Timmy learned that Oil Companies, although making record profits, are not the bad guys that are stealing your money. It's the corrupt politicians who refuse to cut the Oil Companies a break. Cause the number one rule in business that you've all heard is "The customer is always right." If your customers say your price is high, do whatever your budget allows you to lower the prices. That doesn't work for the Oil Companies though, because the Liberals in Congress who want to look good in "poor" America's eyes want vengeance, not results. Okay. I think I've made my point. To summarize and make it a little more concise and understandable: ANYTIME A POLITICIAN BLAMES A "BIG OIL" OR A "BIG BUSINESS" OR A "BIG LOBBYIST" FOR ECONOMIC PROBLEMS, YOU SHOOT AND/OR BURN THAT POLITICIAN. IT'S REALLY THEM THAT'S FUCKING YOU, AND THEY JUST WANT TO DIVERT YOUR ATTENTION. Edited Fri Oct 10 2008, 10:54PM |
