Need specific specs to help you out... but unfortunately, i fear that every peripheral is outdated to the point upgrading would be next to impossible... What socket are u running for your processor... im not too familiar with AMD sockets before AM2... Its a single core right? And what kind of RAM??? DDR400? Is it 184 pin? Is your 7800 AGP or PCIe x16?? Need to know these things so i can throw you a few options. |

There is absolutely nothing i can do bro =( They dont make processors for that socket anymore, nor do they make anymore video cards that run AGP 4x/8x, The only thing you could do is add more RAM, but that wont make any difference... even with a miracle. That system is so very outdated. granted it was top end when AGP was still around... Damn bro, i wish i could help ya out on that one. I dont even think it meets minimum game requirements. I wasnt even aware people still owned that kind of hardware...lol. My build was under $700 6 months ago and it didnt need some bells and whistles i bought. At my monitors resolution (1440x900), it runs most games on high to maximum settings, including this game on maximum with 4xAA and 8xAF. I can put something together almost as good for prolly under $500. At your rate. it should last u another 5 years...lol. EDIT: -[link]- Apparently ATI still makes AGP cards. but if you can get the drivers working... it should be much be much better then what you currently have. First check out my edit in my previous post. With shipping this build comes out to $450. It will play any new game with no problems. AND it has potential to be upgraded in the future. Processor - -[link]- Motherboard - -[link]- Memory - -[link]- Video Card - -[link]- Power Supply - -[link]- Case - -[link]- If you dont think u need the case (dont know what u have now) then it brings the price down to $400. I'm prolly gonna try the video card upgrade, Do you think there's any sense grabbing an extra gig of ram or no? I mean $80 vs $500 is an easy decision right now... and it looks like it would be a considerable upgrade. I read all the reviews and am gonna get it. I'm not too worried about the driver thing. And reading the reviews people mention playing WoW, Fallout 3, L4D2 and BF2 on high settings without issue... maybe I can milk this baby another year or two lol. Edited Mon Mar 08 2010, 11:17AM |
