Also 15 years for me. Fuck man we are getting old as shit.
Also, loving Back 4 Blood. Highly recommend to everyone who enjoys coop zombie action. I play on steam. gLiTch handle was retired with FT. You can find me as theRemedy on Steam friends.

Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

I'm not sure how many of you know what Folding @ Home is but its a program you run on your PC and it simulates folding proteins for Standford University's research team. The purpose of it is to find out how proteins fold or misfold and the reason for this is that scientists believe most diseases are caused by Misfolding of proteins so figuring out why they would misfold is critical to curing and preventing diseases such as cancer, Alzheimer's and several others. My tech website which i have done a good job of spamming on the shoutbox has a team for it. We dont expect to ever catch up to teams like Anandtech or Extreme-PC but its good to have some friendly competition. You can visit the forums for it and you can download the client Incase you already have F@H the team number is 126360 |

I used to be quite a big folder. I don't know why I stopped, but I did. I folded on team Overclock.net (37726), which I believe is up to rank 25 in the world now. I was rank 60 or 70 something on the team before I stopped. Here's how it works: Each CPU that is running the client is assigned a work unit, which normally has a deadline. The CPU runs a simulation with the instructions from that work unit in a certain amount of time, depending on the size and complexity of the work unit. The completed work unit is then submitted to Stanford, and when they have enough work units for that specific protein, they can simulate its entire folding process. The hope is for this research to explain where and when the defects occur in protein folding. The folding client uses only idle CPU cycles to run. This means that if you are playing a game which runs at 100% load, folding will not interfere, and will not slow your game. You can give it a max load, as well. So, if you don't want it using 100% of your CPU when you are not using it, you can set it to a lower percentage. folding.stanford.edu will tell you a lot more than I can. |

What the fuck? I mean... really... what the fuck? Why... why do I want to "fold" anything? I don't even like to do laundry.

You dont fold.. you run the shit while your computer is on at night or whatever and it does it by itself. If you dont want to do it then dont do it. I didnt give people ultimatums to do it i just suggested it to those who already do it. Dont do it if you dont want to. |

the benefits are that you get to contribute to curing diseases simply by running a program while your sleeping, at work, or at school. As well as its friendly competition to see who wins in points every month in our team and if we can get our team up in the ranks
