why don't admins ever balance teams...they're stacked skillwise half the time when I'm on; only occasionally (4,5 times) have I seen admins even give cash or health to balance teams. It seems like all the good players are always on one team and keep winning round after round...it's really annoying. Isn't it posted in the MOTD somewhere that teams should be kept balanced, or at least someone should try? | ||

Yes - The admins are supposed to keep the teams balanced. If they're no admins, you should try and do something yourself. Ask them to even them up, or IM an admin on Xfire. | ||

That's because only the higher level admins can give cash and health. They're mostly on at night only. There are few admins on during the day. It's up to the players to get the teams balanced. |

i always balance teams or at least try to by switching my self or another player, if teams are even number wise and stacked skills wise i try and give health and cash to the losing team. | ||

I'm fanatical about swapping people, giving cash, and giving health.  L2 and up admins can give cash/health, and ANY admin can swap ANY player.As pointed out earlier, we do lack daytime admins. It's a volunteer thing... we don't get paid for it and we try to help out when we can. I've got some long-term plans on raising awareness about team balance, and I intend to give players in-game tools to help guage whether balance is needed. Nothing fancy, but it should help out. ETA: when work stops kicking my ass. I honestly think most people are unaware of team stacking. If we can raise awareness without using a forceful mod/script (one that prevents team changes, etc.) then hopefully people will come around on their own. |

If I’m on a team and we just won 8 round in a row I always offer to switch Alex is there a mod where if a team say loses 5 round they get 16000 cash? And if they lose 8 rounds it gives them 16000 k and 130 hp? If there is a mod out there that can do it might be good to add it to FTC You could set the mod to do this 5 loses = 16000-k to losing team 8 loses = 16000-k and 130 hp to losing team 10 loses = 16000-k and winning team loses 20 hp (giving the losing team 100 hp and the winning team only 80 hp) Now I don’t know if there is such a thing you can add but if there is maybe we should look for it |

well sometimes If i play I know I'm not a dominating player, although I am a significant help, I would rather be on fellow clanmates teams. this could be another problem, but otherwise, there isn't much anybody can do especially during the daytime. Admins will swap (i have seen it plenty of times) but if nobody is around, look on the brightside. See it as an oppertunity to work on teamwork and help work on your skill. You guys say that you are lacking daytime admins well at least until school starts im on the 24/7 office server quite a bit during the day...if you guys need any help I'll be glad to do whatever I can...I know I am relatively new so I doubt that I'll get any privileges or anything but I just thought that I would offer services Jesus |

Yeah, Kalibur. Something along those lines is what I'm working on, but people need to know why cash and health is given out automatically by a script. See, when most people see that a team gets full cash or the absolute worst, > 100 health, then there are always a few fuckwits on the stacked team that say it's not fair. This seems to give the stacked team justification for working even harder to keep the teams unbalanced, from my experiences at least. I'm not sure why. I guess the stackers think the other team, that can only afford deagles for the past ten rounds, is "cheating" or getting some unfair advantage. Granted, plenty of automated messages could be given to explain why cash and health is given, but most people tune those types of messages out unless it's actually coming from an admin. My strategy at this point would be to give players a way to quickly see win percentages for the last 20 rounds, average KDR by team, margins of victory, etc. It seems better to give players the tools necessary to make a decision on whether they want to see team balance occur (and maybe a bit of guilt when they see how badly the teams are stacked). Forcing people to go along with cash and health may be appropriate as a last resort, but it doesn't have to go that far. As an admin, and someone who usually rocks a paltry 1.0 KDR, I've played with plenty of skilled players (you included, Kalibur) that know how important balanced teams are to keeping a full server. If we can make it much easier for regulars to shift themselves around to keep things competitive then I think the absence of admins will be minimized, and hopefully we won't end up with threads like this one.
