FTC has been titsup since last Summer/Fall and it doesn't seem to be getting any better, or surprising, given the recent lack of interest. Methinks it's time to part ways with the community... in a server capacity at least. Obviously I have not shown any considerable leadership or participation in the clan, community, etc. for quite some time. This post is my formal tendering of resignation as a server operator. FT and FTC have both had a tremendous impact on my life. It sounds cheesy but I will never forget the ~3 years during which I was proud to be a part of this whole shindig.  As stated before, my recent interaction with the community leaves much to be desired, but I treasure my time here, and I am still very much interested in staying in touch with many folks I've met here.It has been a pleasure to serve, and enjoy, the company of FT/FTC. I must say this; FTC and this community have both been an important part of my life since I happened upon a server and a similarly fun-loving player named Alcohol-Powered. I must honestly concede that this was just another office server to fuck around on until I became friends with you. I hope you remember as well as I do the first time we met, Alex. I know that I personally had hit the sauce a little hard, and I'm hazarding a guess you did too that night. I think it was meant to be a great friendship when both of us were regretting leaving the server at 4:30 A.M. when we had been the only two playing for the last several hours. Of all the people in this community I respect and care more about you than anyone else, and that really says something. Just like everyone else, there are many great times that I'll reminisce on for years to come; there are some bad ones that I'll always remember, too... The only consistent theme of both this server and the community that belonged to it is that it was an eclectic group of jackasses who wanted nothing more than to blow each others' virtual brains out. I say that in the most respectable and honest way possible; I've never been involved in a more pleasant, fun, and thrilling online community. It really is a shame that the server had to go belly-up. It was regularly full every night up until the time we started two competitive teams; I think the nightly loss of a large group of our most dedicated admins and players was a significant part in the dearth of population the server began to face. This was not aided by the fact that most of those who weren't on the competitive teams faced challenging problems with life, their computers, or both. I'm gonna wrap things up before I start getting more overly-emotional. I'll finish by saying that I have greatly enjoyed the time I have spent with all of you; I'll never forget it, and I hope we can all stay in touch. P.S. I don't know if any of you wish to play other games together, but I was thinking of getting both CoD4 (or 5) and Team Fortress 2 over the summer. Maybe we can reunite and rape face in a different setting

Everything that Bandito said and more. It's kind of sad to know that all the older respectable faces are gone (even Aborted-Fetus' face covered in jizz). I never thought that by simply creating a login name for a random fish forum would escalate into the friendships I have sewn in this merry community. Just as the dirty mexican added, one of my best nights was being retarded drunk with you in the server just fucking around. I never became close with you, or was never a good friend, but your simple presence and power in this community was enough to be a mentor I idolized. I really wish I got to know you, among others, a lot more. But alas, I was a young punk who didn't know anything about life, and for that I suffer. I wish I met all of the old clan members... and never fought with any of the ones that joined around my time. In life, I never regret anything, but I wish I could go back to the days of when I joined and just relive it all, because you guys are just that awesome to me. It's funny because I've been going on the forum a lot during my school hours, and every time a friend or peer is near me and they see "fishtankclan" they ask me what I'm on, and every single time I answer with something different because no one could understand how good of friends you all are to me. My girlfriend thinks you are all fucked up perverts from the videos I show her, my friends all think you are computer geeks because I tell them I used to play counterstrike with all of you, and everybody thinks I talk to creepos when I show them pictures of Bandito the heroine addict and Toasters the crazy fucking madman with crazy hair. honestly, I don't know any of you guys and I love you all and I only wish that all the memories we made and all the fun times we have seperately happened again. Every day I hope to see a new thread from an old member such as Omega, Wildcard, GOOSE, or especially Aborted-Fetus. But unfortunately those days are over and they realized when their day was done with this community. It's not a shameful passing, or a deceased excitedness, it's knowing when something is done and it's time to pack up. Unfortunately I'm not there, but I see, Alex, that you will not be seen around here very much anymore. As this saddens me, I applaud you my friend, and wish you the best in everything. Even though you have quit drinking (I believe, I have bad memory however), sometime when you throw back a cold one, don't forget about us here and how flavor country will never leave my memory  I'll miss you man. as I did all of our respectable elders. Yeah, the place where there weren't giant bags of douche wandering about. It's a shame to see it go, but I had a feeling it was going to go sooner or later. Seeing 0/22 every day lead me to believe that was going. I had almost 40k kills on there, which probably amounts to about 10 percent or more of my kills playing CSS. Not to mention, probably well over 500 hours of my time were invested into FTC. 500+ hours. I could have been making money, doing anything. Instead, I was sitting in the tank with my best buds owning some T's, ragequitting, screaming at people over the mic, and throwing nades at unsuspecting CTs rushing down long hall. I have tried backhall nades at other servers and it just will not be the same as it was here. I guess it's time to dust the cobwebs off and give it what's good for her. It'll always have a place in my heart as the best office server ever. I hope someday we'll have a new Counter Strike with a new Office server where we can call it home. Thank you Alex and all that you've done. I wish I possessed the knowledge of running a server as long and as successful as you have. |
