Test server seemed pretty good. I didnt experience any lag or packet loss as far as I could tell. Hitbox seems more accurate as was mentioned earlier. Some tweaking by the host may be able to fix any glitches with it running 100 tic. May I suggest trying some heavier maps during this test just to see how the server does having to transmit more information to the client. Some strong HDR maps that would tax the servers guts? Nuke would be a pretty strong test IMHO. |

The best for it would probably be Port. Its bigger than Nuke and its way better

FTC will probably be moving here. It's going to be 24/7 office and is advertised as such, wouldn't it sort of throw people off if they see us running anything other than office? | ||

i love the new servers perfomance and hitbox accurracy i do have my choke go up and down some however its only like2-9 so no biigie i am in upstate ny around rochester thanx guys for all the fun!!!! i will be donating some loot on thursday! | ||

Hi Alky...it would just be an hour or so of gameplay to see how the server handles different maps besides Office. Like test driving a new car and beating the hell out of it. Or having sex for the first time with your new girlfriend. Give it all ya got just to see how she handles.

We're probably switching soon. Even though we are most likely going to run at 66 tic I'm fairly confident this test server is what we want compared to the current host. I'm thinking next week or this weekend. I've done a migration before (when we went from my work colo box to the current host), and I'm fairly confident I can execute the migration with as much sucess. I'm still unclear as to why would test how the server operates on any map other office, but it sounds fun. As much as I'd like to see how it runs on a bigger map, just for kicks, you guys have to understand how sensitive players are to inconsistency in mapcycle when our entire image is based upon 24/7 cs_office. If you guys want to organize something for FT's in the next few days I'm game, but I'd rather not have someone transplant 19 players from the current FTC, all under the impression of getting more office goodness, to a port or nuke server. I can almost guarantee that if we move a full FTC of office-going people to a port/nuke/whatever server the server will empty out in 15 minutes. Anyways, nice idea, and I love the car/sex analogies, Vulture.

You'd know what you were doing and understand the logical reason behind video gaming. My dad is in jail for the rest of his life and doesnt even know what those are. And my stepdad is technologically challenged, plus he gets dizzy playing these anyways. So Id like to propose a trade!I was just going along with Vulture's idea though and yeah I understand that it would empty out the server. But are you thinking of moving FTPR to that provider or do you already have them there? |
