Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

kremit wrote ... Weve all been there, the Ts rush the garage EVERY round, and your team is 2-50 on cs_office. With your TMP and no armor, you decide to save your teams back from rushing terrorists, by camping in the storage rooms on side of the garage. I personally have a favorite spot as the boxes beind the door to the sniping windows at CT spawn. It works, you kill more than 3, sometimes 5 people, stopping (or slowing down enough) the rush intended to surprise insert into your teams.... well, backside, to let your team win. This is more controversial than God vs Evolution (based on absolutely nothing) and should be taken seriously. --Current Policy-- My personal look on things is that we have a system where if 20 seconds into the round, youre still in spawn you can get slayed. Technically, you're supposed to be warned first. Does anyone read stickies in this forum? Giving a warning (or two) helps identify a pattern where an admin will either see someone CT spawn camping (or clued in by another player) and remember to check up on that player for the next few rounds. This should also give an opportunity for dialog between player and admin in the best possible circumstances. The "CT spawn camping more than 20 seconds = admin slay" advert should be precluded by the punishment procedure of warning players first -- that was my intention anyways... kremit wrote ... --Misconceptions-- 1) Based on many testing nights I realized my bong, beer or bitch could cause me to be as much as 20-30 seconds late. This means when I spawn, im already breaking the camping rules. 2) If I mess up and hit the windows key, or get spawn flashed when the round starts, I can get slain for insolence that I called covering my team. 1. That sucks. I love CS:S because it's a round-based shooter, which gives me a chance to grab another beer between rounds and take a few seconds to unfuck my wrist. If you have trouble being ready at round start more often than not then I'm not sure what to tell you. I'm not trying to be a dick or anything, but waiting on a few people to get ready doesn't seem fair to the majority of people that are ready to roll at round start. 2. I have sympathy for the Windows key problem -- it blows when that happens to me once every four weeks or so, but I don't expect everyone to wait because I'm drunkenly slamming my meathooks down on the windows key. Flashed at round doesn't account for 20-30 seconds, sorry, but I think this is a bogus reason for extending the timewindow for CT spawn camping. kremit wrote ... --POSSIBLE Solution-- 1) Change rule to '20-30 seconds after round starts we begin counting for 20 second camping rules' MEANING: You cant be accused of CAMPING before 40 seconds into round) 2) Shorter round times would allow for less camping. If the players know they will lose the round after 2 minutes, people get moving, or take shit from the people (the pubbers, and clans) 1. I just don't see shortening the time as beneficial, sorry. 2. We're already at 2:15 round time. I've rarely heard people complain about this, but it seems like going shorter, as others have suggested, will give CT's very few options other than rushing. I'd rather see CT's rush more often than not, but I agree that they need time to setup. Also, read the stickied post which I mentioned earlier. The idea is that if you're engaged with T's that rushed then you're not camping and waiting for them -- they're already there. It seems ridiculous to punish someone while he or she is in the middle of a firefight. kremit wrote ... This solution allows for 5 main purposes: 1) Accomodate for people with my lifestyle 2) Allow for a greater FEELING (this IS just a feeling) among players of equal teams (if you dont have a base like the T's, its lonely out there) 3) Allow for a natural way to even out the teams, in the event that all of the Ts are better than CTs, and they rush garage every round, there should be a rule to allow you to cover your/teams ass (not as a camper but as a 'strategical chokepoint manager') 4) Less waiting on campers (they lose the round for their team and no money) makes them more focused on the objective of helping their team win. 5) Less admin/player bitching about camping. Someone back me up... Please. I think this idea has affected all of you at one point and would like to hear your opinions. -krem Rebuttals: 1. Uh... I dunno man... I'm going to quote ignignot (by memory, maybe incorrect): "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one, and if you think I got that from Star Trek you are very wrong." 2. CT spawn camping is not an answer to unbalanced teams, in my opinion. You can easily take a moment to hand out cash, or better yet, swap skilled players from T to CT. 3. Same thing for number 2. If you see that the T's have no interest in defending hostages than pick a T rusher and swap them over to CT. You can find a CT camper as well and swap him or her over to T. If either complains you can tell him or her, "you missed your calling in life." 4. Uh... wouldn't keeping a tighter control on CT spawn camping satisfy this goal?' 5. I don't understand how this minimizes bitching. Edited Tue Oct 31 2006, 12:16AM |

I agree with Alex totally. Uhh, there's not much for me to add except point out that.... 1. If you want to Camp, swap to T 2. If you want to camp the whole round on CT, find another server 3. For the sake of first time FTCers or noobs, written warnings will always be administered via a bound message. After that, I prefer using ma_explode or perhaps a slap. If the problem persists, then a slay is warranted. 5. Regulars as well as non-admin FTs also help to enforce this rule. 6. The round time is fine, 20 secs is enough to pop off a few shots from the sniper window on the T's in main hall, then get moving. Any more or any less would not promote "productive movement." 7. If you are sitting with a TMP and low cash reserves, 1. give the losing team funds 2. ask an admin to give funds 3. Old-school tactic... save cash and pick up guns off of dead players. Uhhh, is there anything else to add?! |

NOOOOOOOOOOOO! I rip my hair out when I see people camping. Its horrible! It makes the game less fun! 1. When I see people on T get killed by a person camping in Office, they bitch, as well as the whole T team, and some players on the CT team as well. It causes a shithord of problems. 2. Camping is part of the reason why the CT's lose all the damn time anyways. Usually, when I see that the T's are molesting the hell out of the CT's rushing garage, I wont rush as fast as I usually would through Front Office. 3. The rule that we have implicated has worked considerably well. Why should we change it when nobody complains about it? I can understand that you dont like losing when your on CT and the only way you see to help is by one person rushing around in the garage to kill some T's. I can understand if you were afk, then that is okay. That is why I do give warnings, I usually give about 4-5 warnings before slaying. If they say "I was afk" then I understand. But camping, by no means necessary, will help you win at all. |

There is a difference between camping and being nomadic. Bubble goose is as nomadic as the sioux nation, and he does it well. Camping is sitting at back glass or in front office "too" long. 20 seconds is perfect. But if you are caboosing it up in the same spot you have for the last 3 rounds that is fucking camping. How do I deal with CT campers. Bitch, Bitch, and Bitch some more. When I see it starting to happen I try to rally the team to move together. The longer the train the harder it is to stop. If that doesnt work I combine that with calling out individual players by name that could be doing more ( moving more). If that doesnt work, I start slaying campers and kicking afk. "Go go go! Garage, garage, garage, 'stick together team'" |

How about slay ct's if time runs out and slay t's if hosties are rescued? There's an option in the admin plug in to do this for you. With 2m15s rounds, it's very quick even if it takes the whole time. I find it very odd for a person to have problems who cant wait 2m15s. FT office would be freakin awesome if that happened. There would be no admin bitching about camping. It's very annoying just to drop in for a few games and see message after message warning ct's, admins bitch about camping, and players bitch that they arent camping. It's very frustrating to be bitched at to stop camping when you have well over 1m25s in the round left and you want to take your time because there's many t's left and only you on ct left. But hey, that's my 2 cents. |
