Oh I'm so down. I still play zombie escape sometimes on CS:S. Never gets old. So down for Office.
Also 15 years for me. Fuck man we are getting old as shit.
Also, loving Back 4 Blood. Highly recommend to everyone who enjoys coop zombie action. I play on steam. gLiTch handle was retired with FT. You can find me as theRemedy on Steam friends.

Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

All admin decisions are final. Hmm I remember reading that somewhere. A noob is gonig to get owned no matter who's there or which side he's on. It's kinda tough to decide which side I favor because I lvoe to play with and agaisnt my friends almost equally. Though I do lean towards playing alongside them. It saddens me when playing alongside my friends is considered team stack. Thoguh I must admit I wouldn't be half as good as I am without playing against them every once in awhile. I am just going to repeat the rule all admin decisions are final and get over it. Granted I'll make idle comments when I get switched but I bear no ill will. You gotta do what's right. FTC should keep doin' what it's doin' and respect the fact that it does it. |

alexh said ... Yeah my less than 100 posts, and desire for our members to be strong is really trolling. Look up trolling on urban dictionary. Go ahead AP do it, because "generally being a dick on a power trip" is one of its meanings. If you think teams are unbalanced after less than 10 rounds, then you are making the wrong attributions to reality. Real men don't say "those guys are just better," and ask for new teams. They find whats is wrong with their team and themselves and strive to fix it in ways that everyone else can. Someone incapable of this, looks for another path to victory. They say, "those guys are better, so if you cant beat 'em join 'em." Or they change the rules of the game and push money and health. The latter being the path of the weak willed, and those too lazy to invest their efforts into the true betterment of their comrads. |

too much to read. My opinion is let admin balance the teams. Some people care too much about their precious score to swtich sides, that'a where admins come in and switch them! | ||

Ok, I gotta give it up to RagunCajun. He makes the correct point. Sometimes there is a need for swapping a good player, you can either say it is for team balance or to prevent stat padding. Mind you its not after 4 rounds. If a guy has been sitting on T whole game and is working with a 2:1 in like the 75+ win range, and he won't voluntarily switch, then you damn right its time for the admin to intervene. Like my data showed, T has an advantage, and players shouldn't be allowed to grossly take advantage of that advantage. |

Go ahead AP do it, because "generally being a dick on a power trip" is one of its meanings. Hey, I'm not the one who turned tail and ran after the last thread. You remember, the one where you tried to turn you losing admin privs into a clan issue which was completely out of context? How fucking weak that was... So then you turn around and start a Team Balance thread with a poll that either justifies your position or... justifies your position. You started this thread/poll, others have contributed opinions contrary to your's (see the first page, especially the post where Goose utterly destroys your weak attempt at analyzing team balance), and the best you can come up with to lead the second page is a pathetic stab at associating team balance with homosexuality. Also, how do less than 100 posts help you? The clan you're a part of says clan members have to have a minimum of posts, which I believe encourages forum participation. Are you trying to imply lack of participation is a good thing as far as your clan is concerned? Wait, don't bother responding to that one -- you thought you losing admin on FTC was a Community Clan issue. AwsedreswA wrote ... If you think teams are unbalanced after less than 10 rounds, then you are making the wrong attributions to reality. If you can't comprehend that several players will most likely leave than stay after as much or less than ten rounds of severe team stacking then you have no concept of reality, and an utter lack of objectivity when considering how populated FTC may be. I'm trying to explain this to you. Other people are trying to explain this to you. We're waiting for a response. AwsedreswA wrote ... Real men don't say "those guys are just better," and ask for new teams. They find whats is wrong with their team and themselves and strive to fix it in ways that everyone else can. ...or they leave. Is that your goal, to empty out the server? AwsedreswA wrote ... Someone incapable of this, looks for another path to victory. They say, "those guys are better, so if you cant beat 'em join 'em." You're starting to sound like a commercial for the U.S. Army. The "real men" and "path to victory" Jingoism is a nice touch, but at the end of the day you have to consider how to sustain the server or larger community of which the server consists. AwsedreswA wrote ... Or they change the rules of the game and push money and health. The latter being the path of the weak willed, and those too lazy to invest their efforts into the true betterment of their comrads. Calling people "pussies," "weak willed," and telling them to leave when they would otherwise be content to play if they hadn't been losing ten rounds straight doesn't help the situation. This garbage about "they change the rules" is bullshit. Very few servers have "vanilla" configurations and very few servers do not take a stance on how to respond to TK/FF, team balance, hacking, etc. You're still bitter that you couldn't figure out how this server is intended to be operated -- you have no valid argument here. AwsedreswA wrote ... Ok, I gotta give it up to RagunCajun. He makes the correct point. Like my data showed, T has an advantage, and players shouldn't be allowed to grossly take advantage of that advantage. He makes a point which seems contrary to your position on team balance, and validates the points made by myself and others. Are you still a real man or not? Why would the 2:1 guy "in like the 75+ win range" want to switch? He's a real man, just like you, and if the people who are getting absolutely stomped by the team with the guy "in like the 75+ win range," they should be "real men" and "man up" and go for some man-on-man action while they're at it. Apparently you just conceded that team balance is a legitimate and reasonable responsibility that administrators should enforce. Thanks for agreeing with me and you can take your foot out of your mouth now. Go ahead, it's ok. You should also consider the fact that most players will have no idea that this hypothetical person is 75+ wins. Even if they were present for the whole 75+ wins no one keeps that long of a tally on every single player's amount of wins. This is a minor detail that you forget when you start looking at the team wins as a whole. What about the people that just showed up in the past 20 rounds or so? They may be considering the past 20 rounds or so and have an understanding of what has happened recently. Why does that sounds familiar... oh, I remember: -[link]- Remember that example? Yes, it was an example. The "limited sample," or however you dismissed it, is much more applicable to whether people stick around or not than your understanding of team balance as some cosmic scale of which every participant of FTC should be aware. What is your response to people that are otherwise reasonable players but are frustrated with teams? Do you tell them to "man up" only to have them leave and you're left with one less player? Fucking brilliant -- you're singled-handedly emptying out the server by giving people every reason not to play with such a response. What if CT's are on a tear and stacked to the gills? Do you tell the T's: "over the past ten months, T's have had 4.5% more wins than CT's so that justifies the CT's in winning 20 rounds straight tonight and dozens more." Do you think anyone will give a shit what has happened in the past ten months compared to the last 20 rounds? You may argue that they should leave if they can't handle dozens of rounds of losing. That's fine -- you can argue whatever you want. Unfortunately it is contrary to my goal of keeping FTC populated and this is precisely why you were relieved of your administrative responsibilities. The nuances that keep the game flowing and keep players positively interested in continuing to play, as well as returning, are not in an arbitrary number of team wins for the year so far. Think about the recent series of events that apply to more players that are present. This applies to admin's and regulars, which is why the posted rules on FTC's MOTD have read: We want a competitive environment and encourage players to balance teams themselves. Note: if players can't pay attention to balance teams on their own then admins may switch any player at any time. Admins also have the option of changing health, cash reserves, and any other resource to balance teams. You're welcome to your own understanding of team balance. You're not welcome on FTC anymore. |

Once again, above doesnt envolve me so here i go. The admin in the office server do a good job in my opinion of swaps. I've seen many FT members switch teams on their own to help the balance. I hope you FT clan members arent arguing and settle thing is a nice manner. I enjoy playing here(even though i dont talk much in the games), id hate to see a fude start if such a thing is happening. I will leave this thread a lone. G'luck on the dissision. Edited Wed Nov 15 2006, 11:07PM |
