| Suggest Amp for L2 admin | ||

I've seen Amped on FTC a lot recently, and I think he deserves level 2 admin. I'm 99% sure he's been a L1 admin for quite some time now, so what do you guys say? | ||

I really don’t think this was a good idea Nostie… nothing personal to you or Amped but look at it this way By making this thread you’re putting Alex between a rock and a hard place, if everyone says “yea Amped seems to deserver admin! Let’s make him L2†well what if Alex does not want Amped as L2 admin right now and if everyone post that they think Amped should be L2 then Alex would have to make a reason for keeping him at L1… I see you have the right idea but making FTC admins into a vote or something is not the right way to do this, FTC is Alex’s server and in the end he decides who becomes an admin and what level!!! Yea everyone may say “YES Amped deserves L2†but to Alex maybe he thinks Amped is fine at L1 or does not have the need for a L2 right now. |

i agree with kalibur. i bet if we did these kinda threads all the time, we would have too much admins/high lvled, but im not an admin myself, so i cant really say from expeirience... | ||

It's uncommon, but people do privately ask for admin privs, or higher admin privs, and I typically have few problems with giving it to them. There are also those that ask for privs and I kindly brush them off by saying "we're not really looking for admins now," or "thanks for you interest and I will certainly keep you in mind when we need more (privileged) admins." This is a first, though.  I can't recall ever seeing a second-hand, public suggestion for admin promotion. It's an interesting idea but I would rather not handle admin promotion/appointment in this manner.Also, I would like to point out that Amped is a decent guy and the fact that I am completely ignoring the suggestion of this thread should not be seen as negative. I have no problem with him talking to Goose, Omni, or me... which is generally how it works. |

I appreciate your support Nostie. I'll admit I didn't expect to log on and see any sort of thread like this. Everyone is right though, when they say that admin issues/requests/recommendations are much better kept private. To be honest, I'm actually not interested in a higher level admin at this time. I'm sure everyone's noticed that I've taken a bit of a leave from CS:S to play BF2142 as well as get caught up on work. I don't think that someone who plays as little as I have in the past few weeks is necessarily fit for the role of an L2. So once again, I appreciate your good tidings, Nostie, and I hope that this is the first of a long chain of clanmate to clanmate recommendations (except private, of course).
