Oh I'm so down. I still play zombie escape sometimes on CS:S. Never gets old. So down for Office.
Also 15 years for me. Fuck man we are getting old as shit.
Also, loving Back 4 Blood. Highly recommend to everyone who enjoys coop zombie action. I play on steam. gLiTch handle was retired with FT. You can find me as theRemedy on Steam friends.

Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

Fuck it... Ill be the 100th poster woot! anywayz.. Alex wrote ... You gave up trying handle a problem because there was no way you were "vouching for something that controversial and sketchy." Refusing to speak up on behalf of one regular and abusing that regular and a few others to somehow appease other players on the server is a HALF-ASSED way of solving a problem to begin with. Saying "nothing can be done..." except ban her is THE EASY WAY OUT. Seems sort of similar to... gLiTch wrote ... As for banning Kever because reg's bitch to much, i think that is also bullshit. Its a cop-out. A half-ass move. Stop giving in to ppl who bitch. Now if we only read glitch's post, we coulda saved 6 pages of arguments rofl. EDIT: OMEGA U ASSHOLE!!! YOU STOLE MY SPOT!!! NOOOO! Did I make the 100th post or something? Sorry : ) Yeah I dont think people bitching about hacking is a problem, ive got it before, just take it as a compliment and play on. People need to actually spec her and see how she plays. Same with Steel, ive only watched him a couple times but i havnt seen anything impressive, just gotta accept that some people are just better.

Goose and I kissed and made up (somewhat) last night. I think we both still stand by our opinions for getting involved in this issue, and I believe both of us have sincere and positive motivations. We both got off track with judging each other as well as many other FTC'ers getting a bit too personal with each other as well. I hope no one truly believes I dismiss what Goose has done for FTC. I did my best to stay on point about the issue of Kever and how we handle hacking complaints about skilled players in general but I admit that I was overly defensive. Not just overly defensive of Kever, but what I feel were disparaging comments about me. I apologize to those of you that feel the community was being torn apart over this issue. Goose and I have been through a lot and my goal was never to make him feel like he was going to lose his admin priv's or is not welcome on FTC anymore. While I was certainly upset by some of his comments, I value his time and experience. We should still consider a positive conclusion to not just Kever but players like her. I suggest we get away from the controversy of this thread and start something new to discuss how we, as admins and regular FTC'ers, deal with persistent hacking complaints. I'll leave this thread unlocked for a bit in case anyone has closing words to say, but if you have an idea for my suggestion above then feel free to start a new thread. Thanks to everyone who participated and sorry, again, to those who were upset by the, uh... "fervor" with which many of us handled this thread. Edited Sat Feb 03 2007, 03:00AM |

We both got off track with judging each other as well as many other FTC'ers getting a bit too personal with each other as well. I couldn't have said it better myself. Alex and I do have differing opinions from time to time, yet our motivations are similar. I agree that the focus should have remained on the topic at hand and I do appologize that it got personal. I feel bad that other FT's got personal as a result of an issue that could have/should have been handled at an earlier date. Alcohol-Powered wrote ... Not just overly defensive of Kever, but what I feel were disparaging comments about me. Yeah, I appreciate what Alex has done/does/and will do for FTC and the FT community and I suppose I took the issue too personally when really I shouldn't have. I think that I may have been overly offensive just to try to prove a point when the issue was not Alex, rather the issue was Kever and how to treat the situation of the percieved hacker bitching. This was just one of those areas where Alex and I disagreed on the implementation of how to solve a problem and should have remained on Xfire and not spilled onto forums as it did. As a result, I'll try to hop onto Xfire more often and discuss issues while they are still relatively small instead of waiting until they blow up out of control. Alcohol-Powered wrote ... While I was certainly upset by some of his comments, I value his time and experience. I appreciate the fact that you can say that. I appreciate the fact that you unbanned me twice some year and a bit ago. I appreciate that you can allow me to voice my opinion on matters when we disagree. I'm glad that I have had the opportunity to meet all of the great individuals who play on both servers and the members of FT. I like playing on FTC and Surf I like it even more when others feel the same way. I suppose that lately my worldviews have become a bit more jaded and for some reason, I allowed that to cross-over into my Forum responses and my actions. (Response to Fetus's game Console post and a response to Emerican's Ref's in sports posts to name a few.) I guess that my studies in Philosophy have made me view the world differently, and as a result, I get upset when others aren't on the same train of thought I am. I suppose that I have to start smoking weed more often in order to 'chill out' a bit more. I was a serious chronic for most of HS and decided to lay off of it at the end of last summer, but clearly I need to start smoking on more of a regular basis just to 'even out' my natural dispositions. Oddly enough, this thread made me realize that, however fucked it may sound. Alcohol-Powered wrote ... We should still consider a positive conclusion to not just Kever but players like her. I suggest we get away from the controversy of this thread and start something new to discuss how we, as admins and regular FTC'ers, deal with persistent hacking complaints. I agree. I like that this thread got sooo many replies and views and I think that if anything beneficial can come of it, that we acknowledge that the community has much to say on other players that play on the servers, beyond the scope of the just other clanmembers. Its the people that are important. I do have a suggestion. I think that 'percieved hackers' should be given a 'trial'. By that I mean, someone or a few people can record demos and those demos could be uploaded onto a Rapidshare .com for others to download. Then they can be posted in either the Banned/Misconduct forum or the Admins Only forum and voted upon, much in the same way this thread was. (Without the extras ) Clearly nobody here is an expert on Hacking. I'm still wondering what happened to Nostie's idea of setting up an experiment where admins could hop on a server and try out the hacks to see first hand what they are like. I like the idea of a forum 'voteban' regarding 'sketchy individuals' and know that if caught soon enough, it would not blow up into what this thread has become. I hope that the community can overcome the problems that this thread has caused for the greater good of everyone. I hope that we can remain strong in the face of adversity and I'm glad that we can all voice our opinions without persecution. I hope that in the long run, that this thread has made us stronger and that we can overlook the personal shots that were given in hopes of creating the Utopic existence that is lacking in the outside world. I'm glad that I have been given the opportunity to meet everyone and I hope the sentiment can be returned. Hopefully the community will be strong for a long time to come and with the donations to surf and the expansion of slots to FTC, I think that we can weather any storms that may occur. It has been my pleasure to get to know everyone and I hate the thought that this thread could have caused a rift between anyone in the community. Like Alex, I feel the need to appologize to the community at large and hope that we can all move forward knowing what we now know. Thanx for contributing and thanx for the time taken to read these long posts. I hope to see you all in the Tank. Praise Jah. GooSe out. Edited Sat Feb 03 2007, 05:29AM |

I don't have much to say for closing this thread but to say that we all learned alot. Not only that, the fact that even regulars that have never posted before were posting their input on this case. Even though some of it was heated, I'm glad to see people put their input in and act as a community.

I'm honestly going to say that I'm glad to read what Alcohol and Goose posted. With no reservations, I can say that I was a little worried about the battle that occurred here in the forum. I tremendously respect both you and am glad to see both of you handle the issue in such a mature way that I hope that everyone in the community can learn from both of you. I agree that this topic had some regular players who don't post a lot take time out to provide their opinions. This was tremendous in regards to the outpouring of opinions to help make a good decision on the issue. In regards to me, I personally apologized to Kever via private message because I was shortsighted enough to not see that playing someone better like her on the server would make me better. I asked her to please reconsider playing on the server and I saw her online tonight. She was doing well and everyone seemed to be enjoying her presence. Personally, I'm glad she came back to give us a second chance and I enjoyed her presence. I hope that she can take a few minutes to teach me some new tactics while in game. |
