Since this is basically the only server that I play on besides a little Surf now and then, I'll put this thread here. As you all know, I've been having some technical shit with my computer, which there is no fix, literally, for. My fps drain to 20 sometimes even 10 when I'm in a firefight, making it impossible for me to even aim. Not only that, this piece of fucking shit insignificant fan turns on right as I'm out to go into action, freezing me for a split second, giving them enough time to shoot me in the fucking face and I just die knowing that my Goddamn fan got me killed once again. Tonight was the last time that I'm putting up with it. I can't deal with it anymore because it pisses me off to the max. I've tried custom CVARS, rate commands, closing all kinds of running processes on my computer, ect. and nothing fucking works. I'm tired of dealing with it because it just pisses me off more and more. For Christ sake, I probably already have bad high blood pressure problems because of this damn fucking pc. So I'm posting this because I'm taking a break or even giving up CSS until I get a new computer. I'll still be active of course on the forums and will only come into the server sometimes if it is in need of an admin. I'm tired of dealing with the bullshit that my computer gives me, so I'm done. |

Night, I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm going to miss you in office bro. I seriously would try to find some parts for you on a loan basis if you wanted. I know you mentioned in game that you didn't like that idea but I'll definitely miss you in game buddy.

I gave you the link for the custom CVARS from Steampowered .com and if that didn't work I know for a fact that Glitch or some other member who knows about Overclockig a Vidcard can help you out!! I mentioned it only because in your initial post, you didn't mention Overclocking. Please exhaust every option before throwing in the towel! I've won a bit of cash from noobs on Pokerstars .com and if all it takes is a new Vid card, I'd be willing to toss you some earnings if you sign up for an account. (Cash transfers are legit from the site.) If its more involved than that, I hope you get a new rig or at least a decent rig from Ebay. Holla Back! | ||

hey night, mind posting your specs? we might be able to offer cheaper solutions than purchasing a new box. is CS:S the only thing that is slow on your computer? What about other games? If your whole computer is slowing down, it might be time to reinstall windows. overclocking is fun, but the extra 5-10 FPS will probably not solve your problem. |

Yeh I agree with Jig try reinstalling windows that solves most problems I have found. I even my windows directory on it's own partition(that is where you cut a single hard drive into more then one hard drive). I suggest if you do end up having to reinstall windows that you make a 5 gig partition for windows and then reinstall that way you don't loss stuff when you reinstall next time. | ||

yea night, Goose mentioned that you didnt overclock your card yet. If your gonna throw int he towel, u might as well tweak the shit out of your card till it fries because u aint gonna use it anymore anywayz lol. No, just tell me your specs, and ill c what i can do. Depending on your card, i can maby get 10-20fps, out of it. Possibly... Another thing, dont do anything until you reformat your HDD. I reformat mine every 1-2 months lol. I have no spyware/adware/virus protection cause im cheap, so i just reformat every now and then to solve that issue. Once you do that, your PC runs like brand new again. So get back to us and maby i can help you out. |

My card is already overclocked. It's a 512 MB Nvidea 7600 GS Overclocked. I used to have my 5200 FX which got around the same framerate as this card. So it's not the graphics card at all. I heard that reinstalling windows will do nothing at all. I think the problem is my processer, being 3 years old and all. It's not really build for gaming. I was going to try and save up what little money I have (My family is in a huge need of money right now so I have to help out as much as I can) to buy a 64 bit Duel Core AMD processor considering they are built for gaming. I have a Pentium 4 3.06 ghz processor, but I just know that it's not built for gaming. It could also be my motherboard also. I notice if I'm by myself in projector room or something my rates will shoot past 130, but as soon as people come running in or shooting it drops all the way back down to 40 or lower. Something in my pc besides my graphics card cannot handle it. And since the fan turns on every 5 minutes, the processor or motherboard must be getting too hot, therefore lowering my fps. And if I do get a motherboard it has to be a PCI-E because I fucking hate AGP now. So that's out of the question, but I really do think it's my processor. And since I own an HP, I can't overclock it and I already have enough problems with it overheating as it is. The only reason that I would kinda go along with Bubble is because you don't have to work hard for that money. I'm more of a giving person then a receiving person, so it's hard for me to accept gifts from other people. That's why I turned you down Wildcard, I know that your thinking for the better of me but that's your hard earned money that you worked for. I'll find some way to save up and earn it, but right now I can't really do anything until we get out of this hole. I don't think there is any possible way that you could help me with this PC. I just have to find some way to get money to buy new shit from it. Thanks guys for all of your help though. |
