Hey, We have a 24/7 Office server (Office 24/7 RETURNS! v2.0 dallas312.counter-strike.com:27015 ::100Tick::). Our attendance has dropped off in the last few months, so we are looking to attract Office junkies. I used to play on FT and see that your server is usually close to being full or full. I was curious to findout if the person who runs the server and/or his/her admin would be cool with posting a banner on your server and/or on your site about our sever? I don't like the concept of that idea. Basically Alcohol posts a banner on his site to sway people away from his server to go to yours? Um. Yeah. Enough said. | ||

Having adverts for your server on FTC benefits our Office server how? Elaborate on what you are willing to offer in return or how a 'partnership' with a Dallas based server could benefit our situation. Thanx.

I'll be honest, I'm not sure how giving you some of our players helps us out. I'm against this idea simply because it's not in our best interest. We now have 24 slots to fill and giving players away doesn't seem like a great idea. I would like to help in some manner, but I don't see how sending players from our 24/7 Office server to another 24/7 Office server does anything but harm us. Advertising a 24//7 Office server on a 24/7 Office server is a bad idea. We don't see Target telling people to shop at Wal-Mart because the lines are shorter. That's bad business and a bad idea. I understand not wanting to "give" away or turn away players from your server. I used to play on your server full time and it is top shelf; however, in the last year and a half I moved over to a new 24/7 server and have seen it go from totally full to almost dead...Not FT's problem, but I do see your server is close to or full alot of the time. I just wanted to get some of your overflow. Maybe a banner that reads - "Office Junky? FT Office server full? Try Office 24/7 Returns site ID" -? Edited Mon Feb 26 2007, 04:12PM | ||

I agree with Fetus, Night, and Goose. Partnership means that each of you helps each other out. You asking to have Alcohol set up an advert on the FT Office server would only create the possibility that people would come onto our server only to see something that says hey go to this other server running the same map. I guess we'll all be interested to see what you can bring to the table to help us. Also, we just started a dust2 server a week ago and now the #'s for both servers are starting to remain even and both servers are populated so I would hate to take away from that and start sending more new potential players elsewhere.

Pestilence, are you involved or ultimately responsible for operational decisions concerning the "Office 24/7 RETURNS!" server? If so, I may have an opportunity to discuss but I'll need to run it by a few FT's first before I feel comfortable putting any offer on the table. | ||

IMHO, I thought the purpose of the Dust 2 server was to: A:Provide another dynamic for the FT community to grow upon and cull a new crop of recruits. B:Provide a server for over-flow from office while still staying within the FT community. C:Provide a bridge for the surfers and officers to gather together. The Dust2 server is accomplishing just that and though I would not rule out some sort of "partnership" between the office servers I just think it is bad timing. I would hate to see the over-flow going outside the community and steal players from the fledgling Dust 2 server. But like I started out with, IMHO. |
