yea, i kinda want alex to post his thoughts on this topic, but i know hes a busy man. So ima send him a PM when i get the chance and talk to him about this. I mean, if they can be disabled at will by the individual, why not add some extra sense of "battle" to the game lol. It IS Fish Tank CLASSIC after all. Lets have some CLASSIC sounds in as well lol. 18+ means porn sprays and cursing is allowed. Quake sounds should have nothing to do with it. | ||

I moved this because it has absolutely nothing to do with the FT Community Clan (where it was originally posted). I've setup a testing/dev server for FTC on another system. The IP/port is: 64.83.52.139:27051 (yes that's 27051 -- not a typo!) I've got a few items to test on there and one of them is enabling quake sounds. The female sound pack is installed but I'm not sure if that's what we want to go with. Just FYI: the sounds are off by default so you need to enable them by saying 'settings' or 'quake' in-game. I'll post more info about the dev server in another thread, and I'm thinking about turning this thread into (yet another) poll about quake sounds. The main drawback to quake sounds is that we've run for quite some time without downloads and I'm sure many non-regulars appreciate that. This may be offset by the fact that quake sounds are pretty common so many players have already downloaded them elsewhere. Another drawback is that very skilled players will refuse to swap because they're going for "holy shit" status at 24 straight kills without a death. There are negative consequences as far as team balance is concerned if you get a few of these people anchored on one team. I'm open to the idea since it's disable by default; yet gives players more distractions to keep player. We just have to make sure that team balance has a higher priority than hearing some chick gush "Holy Shit!!!"
