Oh I'm so down. I still play zombie escape sometimes on CS:S. Never gets old. So down for Office.
Also 15 years for me. Fuck man we are getting old as shit.
Also, loving Back 4 Blood. Highly recommend to everyone who enjoys coop zombie action. I play on steam. gLiTch handle was retired with FT. You can find me as theRemedy on Steam friends.

Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

In this thread -[link]- Cat Poop and Drunk suggested the idea of altogether removing the option to voteban and votekick, seeing as how the main use of the function is currently abusive. I agree with Poop and Drunk, that we should get rid of voteban/votekick, on the same premise. Nowadays, FTC's admin team has been on pretty much at all hours of the day. With the summer upcoming, there's only going to be more and more admins online, thus making voteban/votekick useless. Also, its fairly easy to ever contact an admin through xfire and/or forums, if no admin is present in-game. I also know that there are drawbacks to getting rid of voteban/votekick option, solely because there isn't always a regular on, nor is there always someone with xfire that can contact an admin if a team killer, or otherwise rule breaker is present on the server (mostly really late, and early in the day). If the server ops did decide best to remove the votekick and voteban functions, then these types of incidents would be uncontrollable for the current players on the server. Other thoughts and opinions? |

If the mod can be tweaked to disable when admins are present that can work out. Even if the admin is idle, it is the same as it being disabled indefinately. The only concern is that how do we know it wont be abused when admins are NOT around. ie, how do we know that someone doesn't say "HE'S A HACKER! VOTEBAN" someone who doesn't hack, quite possibly being a reg? That should be the main problem at hand.

The Voteban/ Votekick function is a an asset every server should have. Yes, i was there when the votebanning of Jesus happened, however the choice for the majority of people to remove an afk, a teamattacker, or someone who is BLANTENTLY hacking doesnt deserve being removed. It sucksand is annoying when sometimes people act on impulse and sumthin like what happen with jesus happens, however its not worth taking away the positive of what Votebanning/ Votekicking does.

I personally feel that the Voteban/Votekick option should also be left as is. For one, Alot of the times there is no admin present at all, especially at late nights when these teamattackers seem to come in waves and never end. Jesus' idea seems reasonable, however, there are times when i see admins that have been on spec for extended periods of time which i think would upset the "tweaked" version. Also, even when admins are not around, the majority of players who play ft are level- headed people who only voteban when necessary. For the most part, the Voteban/Votekick system works efficiently in my opinion Edited Sat Jun 02 2007, 10:43PM

If we DID get rid of voteban/votekick (as you said) it would have a lot of drawbacks, like when there's campers, team attackers, spammers, etc. Admins aren't always around either, like in the early morning time (even when it is summer), there's almost NO ONE on xfire that isn't afk (at least when I see it). Yes, I do agree with some of your guy's points, but I think it would just create more problems then it would solve. Most of the time when ever I see someone votekicking or votebanning they have a legible reason for it, so I don't think that the system isn't working out (for the most part, of course there's still some abuse). Agreed Villain. The votekick/ban have not been abused until today as from what I have seen. Removing it is not the right choice of action.

The biggest problem I see with removing voteban/votekick is that there may be an admin present, but that admin may be AFK for extended periods of time. Not to bust his balls too much but Goose used to do this a lot. There are many reasons for appearing spec/AFK. It's ironic with the whole Mikey B vs. Jesus thing, but some admins appear spec/AFK so the asshats can come out and feel like no one is watching. Whether a spec/AFK admin is actually paying attention or not, the consequences can be disastrous. Admins aren't always in a mental state (i.e. me completely shitfaced on a Friday night) to handle every kick/ban concern. My suggestion for this problem is a combination of two ideas (and one of them specifically deals with the Mikey B vs. Jesus problem): 1. Make admins immune to kicks/bans/etc. 2. raise the percentage of votes required for a successful votekick/voteban. We don't have to lop off entire portions of admin mod functionality, just figure out creative ways to get around them. What do you guys think? |

#1 is a great ideal. Actually I already thought #1 was already on lol. The percentage seem fair atleast it seems that way in the game sometimes it takes about 75%-80% vote for it to work. Im not sure what its set to but thats how it seeems in while playing

Admins should be able to kick other admins, but only l2+ admins should be able to ban lower level admins. This can also stop admin abuse -- within admins (wild vs jesus case). #1 is a very good idea, but it doesn't stop it from happening to a non-admin FT member. Unless you make all FT members immune to votekick/voteban, which means that if its a full house with an AFK FT member with no admins on there is a problem. Laugh. Admin immunity is a good path to take, as well as a rule addition: Spamming or votebanning FT members without sufficient reason results in admin retailiation escalating in punishment per offence. (If someone votebans then a warning, another voteban results in kick, another voteban and convicing others to results in temp ban sort of thing) Edited Sun Jun 03 2007, 12:11AM |

I Think that the VOTEBAN/VOTEKICk thing hasn't been a problem. But I know that has happened to Jesus so, maybe it can be tweaked like Jesus said and it would probably work out. Because when I go on the server, the only time I use that option iz when someone was AFK for 2 rounds or more.
