Also, loving Back 4 Blood. Highly recommend to everyone who enjoys coop zombie action. I play on steam. gLiTch handle was retired with FT. You can find me as theRemedy on Steam friends.

Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

^_^ True story Goose. I though it was just me not understanding the point of someone that barely plays anymore coming to crap on our whole community. How is it a whole community clan has changed but its you eric who is still the same maybe you changed and we all are still the same. I wouldn't waste my breath begging for someone not to leave after he crapped on everything that everyone in this community worked on keeping alive. Only a true whiner would take the time out to post about there problems and shit on a whole community at the same time. I don't know how old you are but im 24 and in my book grown men just just play or leave simple as that. Also I played with you the other day and your not to fun to play with at all, all you did was camp garage and cry at the same time... wow how fun are you. Plus you were trying to get TI rollins to show the ip of his server in game at the same time talking about how crappy the tank is. your chat log goes something like this I said "devil when did this server turn? seriously?". FTC cs_office* why get try to get people to join ur [FT] bashing?* 2007-06-04 21:18:10 Say I said "rock, why were you rushing". FTC cs_office 2007-06-04 21:17:49 Say I said "dude why were you rushing rock?". FTC cs_office 2007-06-04 21:15:34 Say I said "this server has gotten soo homo". FTC cs_office * eric has gotten homo!* 2007-06-04 21:15:31 Say I said "wow what a surprise? rushed us again? HOW THE FUCK DO YOU EXPECT US TO RUSH DURRRRRRRRRRRRRRR". FTC cs_office *who told yall to rush I was on at the same time check my chat logs.* 2007-06-04 21:14:24 Say I said "10 years old?". FTC cs_office *is that how old you are?* 2007-06-04 21:14:07 Say I said "10 years old?". FTC cs_office 2007-06-04 21:13:59 Say I said "AND WE WONT". FTC cs_office 2007-06-04 21:13:54 Say I said "DONT FUCKING RUSH". FTC cs_office *why tell T's don't rush?* 2007-06-04 21:13:41 Say I said "are you an idiot". FTC cs_office 2007-06-04 21:13:21 Say I said "what do you expect, you keep rushing". FTC cs_office 2007-06-04 21:11:20 Say I said "haha no kidding mr cowboy". FTC cs_office 2007-06-04 21:08:16 Say I said "that is what i was shooting for". FTC cs_office 2007-06-04 21:07:59 Say I said "rollins, Tl got a server?". FTC cs_office *why get other people to advertise there server ip* 2007-06-04 21:06:43 Say I said "what the fuck is up with t's fucking rushing every blasted round". FTC cs_office *why cry about T's rushing.* 2007-06-04 21:04:12 Say I said "WHERE YOU BEEN". FTC cs_office 2007-06-04 21:04:03 Say I said "playing dod". FTC cs_office 2007-06-04 21:03:56 Say I said "hahaha hey rollins". FTC cs_office 2007-06-04 20:57:47 Say I said "sorry". Edited Wed Jun 06 2007, 12:26AM |

This type of discussion can be constructive, but it always has the capacity to go on with no end. That said, I would like to share a few quick thoughts about the issues Eric has raised and also a few of the counter points with which others have responded. I'll do my best to stay on point... It's understood that some people have moved on and will not be returning, as is the case with Eric. This is obviously not something I would like to see happen especially considering the fact that Eric is the only person I've met in CS:S first, and then actually met in the "meat world." That's right -- Eric lives near me in Richmond and I've actually hung out with him! We haven't kept up much lately but he was one of the first (and few) "regulars" on my CS:S server before it became FT Classic. He continued to play when fux0r.org became FT Classic and I have some of my most vivid memories of playing CS:S with him. Like I said, we haven't kept in touch for many months but it personally hits close to home when someone who initially motivated me to continue the travails of running a CS:S server says he's calling it quits; not quitting CS:S entirely, just not playing on FT Classic anymore. I have to read and consider his words carefully. While I do not necessarily agree with some of the claims, and I think Goose did a decent (if somewhat overzealous) job of refuting Eric's claims... it still bugs me. Eric comes from an era of Alcohol-Powered hosting that was more carefree and chaotic than it is now. Hell, I used to be more relaxed and social back then. Things have definitely changed since then but that is the direction that I and others have taken it. Not that I enjoy being more subdued and less social, but there are considerable drawbacks to promoting an excessively "free" gaming environment when considering how to sustain the server in the first place. Those of you who are rebuked for annoyances like mic spamming, CT camping, etc. and take it personally sometimes fail to understand the larger scope of what FT Classic enthusiasts (not just admins but regulars as well) are trying to accomplish. Instead of thinking that an admin is telling you to minimize mic chatter because he or she has a tough day at work and is taking aggression out on you... try thinking about admin looking out for teammates who are actually trying to supplement their CS:S experience with audio related to actually playing CS:S. The target of a warn/punish action by an admin always seems to claim "admin abuse" or the admin as being overly aggressive. Granted, the delivery of a warn/punish is crucial to how the target will respond... sometimes it would be nice for someone to acknowledge that he or she fucked up and got caught doing so. This is a two-way street for admins as well and I've certainly been guilty of making ill-informed and hasty decisions. I encourage players and admins to show accountability in any conflict in which he or she is involved. I strongly disagreed with many of Swrd's statements (remember that whole debacle?) about things being too uptight on FT Classic but I did still consider some of his points. Points raised in posts like this, and some of the responses agreeing with Eric's statements, have merit. I think some of it is melodramatic and fabricated to make a convincing argument but I do see a few kernels of truth buried in there. One thing I do not agree with is the concept that FT Classic's admin team is riddled with immaturity. Yes, admins can be pushy and pig-headed about some issues but most of this, at least in my opinion, stems from a desire to see things change for the better. Flare ups between players/regulars and admins typically come from a lack of communication or flat out ignorance. Admins are encouraged to do a better job of justifying their actions and players are asked to show more understanding and objectivity concerning the reasons why admins warn/punish them for suspected asshattery. Unfortunately, the options of bans, friendly-fire, screaming at each other on the mic, etc. make for issues that rapidly escalate to "calling it quits" threads such as this. This will continue to be a problem no matter what the medium (forums, CS:S, xfire, etc), but the important concept is that we try to understand what is, or has, gone wrong as well as ways to handle it in the future. This thread may just build up my motivation to complete a revised Admin Policy that, I ashamed to admit, has been a work in progress for close to a year. I still have to look at the positive side though if this is what it takes to finally complete it! There are always going to be conflicts between players, admins and a combination of the two. I would like to think that FT Classic has adapted well over its lifetime. We've had operation/hosting struggles that we've overcome (changing hosting companies, Steam update/plugin breakage), gameplay/mechanics hurdles to get over (general stance on handling hacking, admin accountability), as well as many social conflicts (christ, the list of these is too long) that have all been handled with some amount of satisfaction. There are definitely some regrets and "live and learn" moments for me personally, but I have had a positive experience to this point. We've shown a remarkable capacity to rally from our failures and I don't see Eric's post as a general "the servers gone gay" statement (that's a quote from an ex-FTC'er who I still despise ). It should be seen as a wakeup call -- not that we're fucking things up on a large scale but that we can avoid situations like this and continue to succeed if we understand and learn from statements made in this post. No one likes making the same mistake twice, so I suggest we appreciate what we can about the concerns Eric has raised here and genuinely do our best to resolve problems as we see them. Anyways, I said I'd try to keep this short, and by some standards it is, but I want to finish by saying that I am still here. While I don't play as much as I used to I still keep up with forums and am still very much involved with the admin/player/plugin/mod/(oh yeah, billing!)/etc issues. I can't promise I will get back to everyone on every issue but I want you all to know that if you have a legitimate problem with any aspect of FT Classic that I will do my best to help. |

Hey Goose, nice little way to take everything out of context... Tities... wtf, be a immature prick about it, you have no idea where I am coming from when I say this, If I am going to take the time and type all this shit, than it doesn't get deserved to get bashed down you and goose. I tryed to make it a nice as possible, I didn't want to hurt anybodies feelings, but you want to know the honest truth, YOU ARE ALL TO UPTIGHT Why did you only put what I said??, make me look like the badguy???? How about you put the rest up about the 1 dude being a fuck and 2 admins being douches and instagating things. What did I say about bad admins, All you admins want to do is give one side of the story and make the other guy look like a bad guy, and what happens? NOTHING... expect for the person how says the truth...me.... who probley gets banned the next time he gets on for being honest You know why you are a bad admin and give FT and bad name TITIES.... because you are a jerk and only give a shit about yourself. TITTIES you are a bad admin and give FT a bad names, this cocky bullshit is exactly what I am talking about, you don't care about the regulars and don't care about the new people ...So basically in your understading.... your an ass (When I say you admins or all of the admins I am talking about most of admins on FTC that spend most of there time there, but not all of the admins) -Eric |

You come here and talk about this clan and you think im going to sit here and ride your dick? PLEASE I could careless about you, im no child boy! Alex said he's cool with you so don't try to act tuff. I posted what I posted because you were the only one crying in the game I remeber you because of that. I can't recall ever playing with you before then, other then yesterday Ive never heard of you. Im not biased to noone. So I posted what I saw with my own eyes as simple as that. Now im not going to sit here and cry with you like some baby so man up and take responsibility for your own actions and what you say. This is my last post on this topic so say what you want after this. im not here to flame with you. Edited Wed Jun 06 2007, 03:43AM | ||

Eric, not only did you make three double-posts this thread, but you're a fucking hyporcrite. You claim that we are whiny little babies, but YOU'RE RIDICULOUS. Nobody on this thread was more immature than you. Hell, add up all the immaturity of all of us and it doesn't equal yours In court, do you think they get the story of just the accused or just the victim and call it a case? No. The judge needs to see both sides of the story, and needs evidence (logs). It takes time to resolve situations. Don't expect all of them to happen instantly. And just because you and Alcohol had a close friendship a while ago doesn't mean you have immunity for being a prick. Goose.... I <3 you. |

I'll fanboi a bit. I really like FTC. I turned off in-game voice years ago because of all the annoying brats that think they're funny/great/etc and want to tell everyone about it. I use ventrilo and choose whom I wish to talk to. I have never had any issues with an admin on FTC. I think they do a great job. I have been adminning game servers and supervising server admins for 6+ years and its a thankless job. And trust me - its a fucking job. All you want to do it play a fucking game when you join your packed server and you end up babysitting instead of playing. If you don't like the voice chat - turn it off. If you don't like smack talk, ignore it. I rarely read chat - ever. If you don't like the server, find a new favorite. If there are players on the server that you consider friends and people you want to play with/against, join the server when they're on. Thats a feature built into the game - server browsing. If there are players on you don't like, etc... I think FTC is a well run server and it has some pretty good competition for a pub. <3 |

Everything you said was on point, FTC has changed and maybe that's why I stopped playing, before I was even forced to (I moved). I don't remember when you were admin, but I can remember playing with you a few times and you stood out to me as someone who was there for fun and not to be a prick and prove you're better than everyone else. Admins need to start setting the shitheads on the server straight, because the FTC golden era is over and it needs some life breathed into it, so hopefully it can reach its highest peak once again. |
