Alright folks, we're going to take the plunge and start using sv_pure 1, as mentioned by a fellow FTC'er here. This means that we will be forcing certain content to come directly from steam. Valve has a wiki article here: -[link]- The goal is to prevent custom content hacking (anyone remember Vash?!) while giving players the option to replace certain steam content with fun things like a purple dildo for his or her first-person knife skin (Goose, I know you have one of these!) We will start off basic and force obvious content to come from steam, and go from there. I would also like to point out that this, like any new SRCDS feature, is bug-prone and we will need to keep an eye out for crashing, malfunctions, and all the other fun stuff. If you see a problem please us know and look here for further updates about what directories will be enforced with Steam consistency. |

its a great idea, but what makes CS fun for me is my awsome skins. But no harm in trying it out. | ||

no it just displays steam default skins. i have almost every weapon skinned and i went on an sv_pure climbing server yesterday and all my skins were just steam default. so you wont get kicked. | ||

sounds good. all i have is the finger knife. some skins appear helpful like some scopes with a big red circle, it's easier trying to line up a huge cricle to a player than a little dot. its the way you look at thigns -.- |

Lame, to be honest. The only reason I play CS:S anymore is because I can trick everything out to look and sound exactly how I want it to. Skins still seem to work on FTC, but all my sounds are messed up so it's like playing without speakers. I understand why FT decided to go pure, but honestly I don't know how much I'll hang around now. When every other server was adopting some new gay Valve feature (DWP ftw!), it was always nice to know you could hop on FTC to just play the damn game. |
