Ok since im a n00b and fucked up in the other thread, i deleted it. I took advice and i am making this a public FTC thread because i think everyone who plays on FTC should post their responses on this subject. In my other thread i was talking about two new sounds for the almighty classic server. 1. The classic, HEADHSOT! When someone gets headshotted. 2. And the classic, "I aaammm the one and only!" The guy sings it when ur the last one left. The headshot one is cool and i love it. It acknowledges your spray and pray or your leetnezz. Unfortunetaly it can get annoying since this is Source, where every shot, could be a headshot. It may be spammed. Specially when ppl like 3stripe and Jesus enter the server  The One and Only is something i loved since 1.6. Sometimes i would love being the last one alive. I get to hear it. It also lets you know obviously if you dont know, that you are indeed the last one alive. It will also help last minute campers to realize they better get up and move because they are the only ones left. I can see how the first can get annoying. The second cannot be annoying since only the last person alive will hear it, not the whole server. Nobody is ALWAYS the last person alive. Unless of course they camp all to hell, but hey, we dont give a damn about them n00bish campers anywayz. They dont follow the rules, they dont matter. Plz discuss this in a relatively mature manner and give valid points and reasons for your opinions. I want server ops to see what ppl think about this subject. For i love my beloved FTC, and i want to make it better. Alex, after a few posts in here i will talk to you on Xfire when i get the chance. This is not a vote. If they are the only ones who hear it, it could be both useful for campers and fun The headshots one.. Well most servers I play on it does it for only you... If the Ops decide that it is liked by the community and put it in, may I suggest if it does it for the whole server that if you type 'quake' or 'settings' that you can change it from 'anyone' 'self' and 'off'. Both sound good as long as you can enable/disable, but yet again, up to the ops. |

I rememer this from before, lol. but didnt we say last time that we just couldnt find a good script that had the enabling abilities??? idk, cant remember right now. but I think we didnt put them in because it would be for everyone, not just for whoever wanted it. but I am definitely for ALL sounds, as many as we can find, just as long as we can disable and enable them at will, and not everyone hears them. I dont know which ones I like more, quake or hot girl. I only remember the hot girl like orgasming, lol Glitch, since you are so pertinent on having this happen, your best bet would to try and get in touch with Alex and see what he thinks. I think your best bet would to ask around or look it up for the best script that we are looking for, then showing it to him and seeing what he says, etc. good luck though for fighting for this matter, it'd be awesome to have them (also.. if you enable the sounds so that just you hear that, would it also be possible to have it so you just hear your own, and not everyone elses? I dont want to hear all the time "OMEGA IS GODDDDDD LIKE!!!!!!")

I say we should have the last man standing thing rotate through different things to say. Like "Good luck out there buddy your going to need it" and "May the force be with you" and other funny or meaningful qoutes we can get a hold of. | ||

One thing I worry about is download times. Having to download sounds/mods can get really annoying, and it turns some players off. When you see that first download status box, you think 'how long it will take', 'will there be another one', 'what the hell am I downloading anyway'...etc. I don't think it's a bad idea, however we need to keep in mind certain things (like dl times) that will turn some people off. Will it enhance the game playing experience enough that will justify making players download custom sounds? Having said all that, I do like the idea of some custom sounds. Not the usual "monster kill", "rampage", and stuff like that, but rather pulling some classic lines from great movies. At any rate, that is my .008¢ (inflation is a bitch). |

LMAO!! btw, you put cents on that, so that is like .08% of one penny, lawl And at any rate, FTC's download time, from what I remember years ago, lol, was really really fast. and even with whatever updates we've had, its not that bad. the quake sounds ive downloaded before take like 50 downloads at 1.2 seconds each, so its not horrifically bad. and also, like Fetus said, does it have to be the sounds like on everything other server, or can we format it to have custom sounds, especially the ones we joke about all the time? IE. the movie 300 we could use alot of the lines, lol |

Zero I like the road your on but when your talking about putting sounds on your still talking about last man and headshoot? I remember a long time ago when we had admins able to play random sounds and it ended up getting taken away people were playing them to much. (I have to admit it was fun as hell) |
