Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

I'm really getting tired of reg's engaging in TK/FF. If you think you deserve any credit based on how long you've been around then you're sadly mistaken. I encourage all admins to punish intentional, reg TK/FF'ers moreso than any joe blow. Nothing good ever seems to come from intentional TK/FF. It doesn't matter who you are or what happened. |

Yeah, but the TK/FF 'problem' goes far beyond a few regs gettin some kicks. Don't forget that when someone accidentally shoots another person, the victim will turn around and blast as a form of retribution. I'm not saying that its a good thing, but taking a close range shotgun blast that knocks you down to 25 sorta sucks. The only way to get some revenge for that is to pull out your pistol and pop em in the face,,,, twice, to even out the damage that you have taken. This is not a good thing either, but to eliminate it all together would mean turning FF off. And yes, this situation can quickly escalate into a full on TKing spree, so that is why admins must recognize and remedy the situation before it becomes a problem. This is not exclusive to regs either, its a sort of 'common practice' among those who frequent FF servers. I prefer using green text to say "TKing = slap/slay/kick/ban" Because this message follows the punish procedure, and it lets the offender know that TKing or pecking will result in punishment. However, another situation that arises would be when a team wins a round, and using the last few seconds before spawning, someone might peck at a teamate. I know that I've been shot many times at the end of the round. I don't seem to mind losing like 15hp because at that point, it really doesn't matter much, but its still not totally Kosher. But what really blows are those tools that have like 10hp, then they shoot you, fully expecting you to shoot them, and effectively TK them, so that they can use the TK revenge on you. Those guys are gay. Low HPers who step in front of you, or intentionally flash you, or peck at you with a pistol or knife, expecting a retaliation can be dealt with rather easily, the hard part is identifying who is at fault and started the problems. When two randoms are TKing and they are on teh opposite team, somtimes I'll take ask who started it and take the word of a respectable regular(who is not involved) and punish accordingly. Jumping into spec is key too. But yeah, TKing is not acceptable and jumping on it sooner rather than later is key. |

ive learned this from surf-tkers dont stop. usually people try tking the tkers to stop them, but that just makes it worse. yeah i hate it when they tk at the end of the round. and if they do it enough, you get so pissed off that you kill them and eventually get kicked. although usually us surfers do it for fun and we freeze people going down the ramp (which is hilarious), but we dont try to intentionaly wreck people's days by tking them every single round. but i agree that its not acceptable. if someone is pissed at something, and you tk them for fun at the end of the round, it could get way out of hand. and i agree with goose-turn off FF. and sometimes when you shoot them by mistake in combat, they turn around and headshot you with an awp or w/e, which can lead to serious problems |

i always try to punish tks as soon as i possibly can but sometimes people just xfire me (when im on xfire lol) saying the joe blow is tking. As soon as i get a chance i come on and immeadiatly go to spec and watch what happens. Usually a reg will notice im on and start spamming me saying "ban joe blow hes tking". Now im sure the reg is right but for me i have to witness the tking and actually see it because sometimes the reg might just hate someone. Then i use the punishment procedure and try and get them gone as fast as the procedure will allow me.

I've seen servers before where if someone tk's/ff they get slapped with 20 damage for every bullet that hits a team-mate (slap makes crosshairs aim away from tk victim), and if they are somehow able to get 3 hits in a row they are slayed automatically. Maybe this is the solution. You still have the challenge of ff (otherwise everyone just bullet spams terribly) while eliminating nasty tk'ers.

Eh, we should keep the ff the way it is; just be more aggressive about enforcing rules.

^^^^^^ Agreed. Tho, except for wu who stabs people for stealing his kill i don't see many regs intentionally tk. ff tho......yeah i'm sorry about the smokes >_< Toasters, even though the slap would move the gun away from the teammate the classic servers would suffer. Office is too tightly compacted for that kind of motion. I can't really say about the surf servers, but once you're inside the office, stray bullets WILL fly. |

"Agreed. Tho, except for wu who stabs people for stealing his kill" No actually I don't care about that, there is no kill stealing. if a guy steals your kill then you didnt get there fast enough and when i do ct im usually pissed off and need to vent so I guess i should be punished but let me just say I dont continually do it. also what bubble mentioned above sometimes when I get hit by a FF bullet i would strike the person back, depending on how idiotic the shot is. example: when I was in T spawn, a camping guy with a shotgun stared at me for literally 6 seconds, and then decided to blast me with a shotgun. he then crouched down like nothing ever happened so i took out my pistola and nicked him in the head twice it;s hard to resist when a guy, does it on purpose. I do realize it hurts the team and I try to stop besides that I do also notice quite a lot of FF going on. I'm glad we have FF it adds to the realism and helps you pay attention to your Radar more. here are 2 examples of what you SHOULDN'T do -[link]- -[link]- Edited Thu Jun 01 2006, 07:17PM |

I dunno, too bad there's no sort of mod that will slay after a set limit of team damage. For example, a stray bullet typically stays under 20 damage right? That might even be a bit more than usual. Regardless, if a player does 40+ team damage; then you could safely assume they are doing it on purpose. After the 40+ team damage, either an auto slay could occur, or the punishment mod could come up. That way if it's just an unfortunate situation (like running in the line of fire or getting killed with a T during a nade blast) then the reciever of the damage could, hopefully, forgive. This may be farfetched, but it would certainly be a viable option. Much better than getting rid of FF all together. That would be probably the worst of solutions, due to how much that would be taken away from the game. It adds so much more excitement when something like an unfortunate TK sways the momentum of the game. Without it, CS would feel even more like a video game than it already does.
