Nice... hey any idea what's up with the HE nonbuy script... or more specifically why Zero and Pracket were able to buy repeatedly which resulted in the Omni thread??? Alcohol-Powered wrote ... The rebuy bypass for buylimit has been around for a long time. It has to do with event handling not working with sourcemod as far as I can tell--the 'rebuy' client input is processed before my limitbuy script has a chance to intercept it. I beat my head against the wall back in October trying to work around it and got nowhere. It's been weeks since I looked at it but I'll consider readdressing the issue. Post a new thread and I'll look at it again if I have time in the next few days, weeks... months  I know I've been able to buy a 3rd flashbang occassionally. Normally on T, I'll buy, run out of spawn, throw a flash through front window and then run through back hall back to spawn and setup shop. Well one time I wanted to buy more ammo and since my buy script includes ammo I just hit that. Lo and behold I got a 3rd flashbang! So while it doesn't work ALL the time, I find it works... often enough. The HE thing has never worked for me, but I've never really tried often enough I guess. Sure occassionally I'll be like "hey I wonder if I can get another HE?" and try, but the limitbuy prevents me. Is there anyway to look at Zero or Pracket's config. to see what perhaps allowed them to get their client input in before your server script could kick in? Location? Rates? Ping? I have no idea... anyway... for another day. |

I have binds for all nades, and if I repeatedly press it I will always get it no matter what. Not that I like to work around but my scrollwheel down buys me armor, nade, fb, ammo. so I just scroll down and it works all the time. |

That nade spam was really funny tbh. Umm but yea. It's not that I bought more then the limited amount of nades. It's just that I binded f11 to buy a nade, chucked it, bought another, chucked it, before the 30 second buy limit was over. Possibly a way to fix it is to write a code saying you can only buy one or two nades within the 30 second time limit. |

you can't buy two nades at the same time anyway. rebuying nades at all, ever, is nade spamming and against the rules. | ||

The script works fine for me. I just hopped onto FTC and tested a few things... I bought a full set of nades, threw them, then tried to buy more but the script prevented me from doing so. The script did what it was supposed to do and I could only BUY 1 HE, 1 smoke and 2 flashes that round. (I used the manual buy menu and the built-in 'saved favourite combo' in the buy menu.) If you HAVE/SAVE a full set of nades from the round before, throw all 4 of them the next round, then yes you can still BUY 1 set in that round,,, but thats it. If you SAVE a full set from the round before and buy 1 set in that round, the max number of nades can be 2 HE, 2 smoke and 4 flash, then the script kicks in. (Using the buy menu and fav combo.) Pig and Pracket said that they can BUY multiple HE nades in a round and its because they use scripts/binds to do so. The binds go through console and it works around the in-game plugin. IE: Has anyone ever gone onto an AWP/auto restricted server and typed 'buy weapon_awp' in console and recieved an AWP? Its a way of working around the Mani script restrictions by doing a 'console buy' and the same thing looks to be happening here with the limitbuy script. Edited Thu Dec 20 2007, 10:48PM |

ok, no one seems to have figured this out. Buy an HE, throw HE, hit rebuy, new nade, rinse and repeat. You can keep doing it till you run out of time/money. Its not that complicated nor does it have anything to do with configs. Guess the secret is out. You dont need scripts or console. Just rebuy. | ||

When you rebuy, this pops up in chat... [LIMITBUY] Not permitted to run 'rebuy' after using a limited item. But it lets you buy it anyways. Maybe a cvar value has to be changed from 0 to 1 or something to remedy the rebuy glitch. All in all, the purpose of the script was to limit smoke spam, and it has done that nicely. *EDIT* There's also a script for SM... -[link]- "This plugin is an advance item restriction script with the ability to restrict in these categories: global, team (CT or T), map, and per player." So maybe looking to use something like this to limit nades would work too. And AWPs/Autos can be restricted using this SM script instead of the Mani? Edited Fri Dec 21 2007, 01:00AM |
