Alltalk has benefits and consequences, and both are subjective. CS:S would be much better if there were two methods of in-game voice communication just as there are two for text chat (public and team). Since that's not an option (as far as I know) my suggestion is that you use our vent. I never use it but I believe there is a channel dedicated to FT Classic. I suppose an explanation of why I am not personally interested in enabling alltalk is in order. Simply put: it doesn't seem to mesh well with other elements of FT Classic "culture." We're all here to have fun but we also try to pay attention to team balance (apTB), speedy rounds to keep players interested (20 second "shot clock" at CT spawn, low round timer), and encourage peer-reviewed (with demo) permabans for hacking/exploits. There are other qualities to FTC but I hope you get the idea--most people show up to play fairly and quickly. While the social aspect of multiplayer FPS'ing is entertaining I think alltalk brings in too much of a good thing. Placing more emphasis on verbal interaction brings more problems than it's worth IMO. I hope you understand my position and resistance to turning alltalk on, and sorry to NoSkill for not posting my thoughts about alltalk on his thread. |

MAD Votes No on proposition 31. \ The server has more of a serious tone than maybe your average server imo. alotta people care about there scores and winning, but im not saying everyone does. Overall i feel assigning all talk will kinda lose that quality for playing that ftc has that many other servers don't. |

Being a pub, most players that play are not high calibur in skill. It's basically Dancing Cat vs. Roflcakes. Also, FT is a community clan. Pracket FTC might be a pug, but it is more of the challenging pubs. And if you havnt noticed there are alot of player with high skill level that are regulars there. And yes we are a community that is why the forums are here. And if you want to talk to someone it is as easy as typing a sentence or two or just changing teams. Nola you are very new to this server, i think you should play on it for a couple hundred hours first to see the type of atmosphere in game and see how things are done around here. Double post ftl.. got tired of editing.. FTC is quite serious!! Have you seen the people play after the stats reset.. Its a must kill everything environment in the tank right now. |
