apTB will be renamed to 'cTB,' or 'Classic Team Balancer.' This is meant to indicate that the plugin is more representative of our server and not anyone in specific. The current development release has already been changed to reflect this new name, and should make its way to FTC at some point in the next few days. The other important announcement is a bugfix of epic proportions. I've nicknamed this bug the 'one for one, fail safe swap bug' (which just rolls off the tongue, right?), and it was a nasty one. The details below probably don't matter to anyone but I'll explain: 'One for one' means cTB was trying to swap one player for another on the opposite team which happens when team player counts are even, 5v5 for example. 'Fail safe' means the first two passes of swap candidacy failed, and the third and final pass, called 'fail safe,' was not working as intended. A quick note: it's ok for the first two passes at swaps to fail. They are conservative in that they honor the minimum rounds that an individual player has immunity since connection/last swap, and they will skip swaps that would give the weak team too much of an advantage, or no advantage at all. The fail safe pass is designed to make a swap happen and cuts a few polite corners to do so. It may not tip the KPD strength in favor of the weaker team but should at least close the gap in KPD strength. Example: Both teams have 5 players. T team has a KPD strength of 7.6 (added up all the effective KPD's of team members) and the CT team has a cumulative team KPD of 3.2. All requirements for a swap are met (balance meter < 0.0, min rounds passed since last swap action, etc.) The first two passes fail because potential swap candidates have either been swapped too recently, or the results of potential swaps would not give the weaker team (CT) an advantage. The fail safe pass now starts and it's goal is to find the best two players that it can swap to reduce the difference in cumulative team KPD strength from 4.4 (7.6 - 3.2) to anything less than 4.4. Since individual player swap immunity is not a factor at this point there is bound to be two players that can be swapped to get the difference down, and the fail safe pass will make sure this happens. Long story short: the fail safe pass was not actually switching players in that type of situation, and it's now fixed.

doesn it get messed up if there is a player who is say, 200/60 and the rest of his team just joined and is all 3/2 10/6 ect? I would think it would skew the value of the team. | ||

I'm not sure what you mean. Cumulative "effective" KPD (historical + session) is factored into determining team strength. |
