I play on the FTC server regularly under the tag "Oops!". Tonight while playing on the CT side i rushed the front door and went through the office down the stairs to the garage and came up behind a few T's. I took out all the T's in the garage except for [FT].:Bubble Goose:. who was killed by a camper. After he died he slapped both me and the camper for 50 dmg. I asked why he slapped me since I wasnt camping and explained that i rushed front yard and came up behind him. That is all that was said. At this point Goose decided it was a good idea to mute me. I feel like this is an unjust punishment, especially when I wasnt acting hostile towards him in any way. If you havent been muted before, it sucks.... You lose your ability to communicate with your team and friends, and you lose the ability to generate any revinue through Counter Bet. All im hoping to achieve from this post is to be unmuted and have the incident brought to your attention. Thx. -Oops! |

Oops is telling the complete whole truth about everything. He is not exaggerating in any way, nor is he overreacting. Goose should definitely lose his admin. *sigh* |

I dont want him to lose his admin, people are allowed to make mistakes... I got back on and am unmuted, so im happy. No harm - no foul, yeah? I was only concerned about getting unmuted because I don't know how to go about it. | ||

Well if your muted then just leave the server and reconnect it will unmute you automatically.... |

Oops, thanx for registering on forums and thank you for your valued input. Your opinion's matter and your posting is much appreciated.   Around these parts, claims of Admin Abuse are taken seriously because they are so rare. Perhaps if I gave my perspective, you might understand why I did what I did... Let me preface my next comment by saying that I was dealing with spawn campers (As well as TKers, blockers and racist comments) all night and I said "CT Spawn Camping over 20 Secs = Admin Slay" ad nauseum for several rounds prior to and after dealing with your situation. I subsequently typed "CTs dont camp in spawn", and used the Explode on a few CTs to get them moving. From there... I was on T, went through garage late in the round, and got shot and killed by 2 CT's. The only 2 CT's still alive. I slapped both of you with 50hp damage. As I recall, either you or your teammate had less than 50hp which resulted in a slay. He didn't seem to complain, but your whining prompted me to mute you. I suppose I got used to the tranquility and your muting must have slipped my mind for a few rounds. Remember that I was alive and wasn't specing you from the beginning of the round to see the route you took. Making a large circle of the map may not be 'camping', but you essentially ended up back to the spot you started the round at. Its as pointless, and as punishable as running to the snowman, then running back to spawn. Define Abuse please. I didn't slap you repeatedly, burn, drug, blind, slay, kick, time/freezebomb you nor did I make fun of you or anything else. All I did was forget about you. (No offence, but I forgot to un-mute) Abuse on other servers entails having admins use RCON to change your settings, name, key functions, blindings, slayings, etc. Forgetting is not actual abuse. Claiming 'abuse' must be accompanied with tangible proof, supporting witness statements or at least a strong claim about a serious act. If you were unsure about the muting, you could simply have posted and asked to be 'un-muted' at which point someone would have informed you that it is not a permanent thing. Saying that I slapped you with 50hp doesn't help your case, it just makes you sound like a whining turdmuffin. It only strengthens the reasons behind my actions because it shows that you committed a serious enough offence prior to being muted. I rarely take away HP via a slap and I only did so because of the situation. I had the option to slay you, but I'm a pretty relaxed guy and I take small, unintrusive measures to get a point across. For your information, after I slapped you, dead players were calling for a SLAY so clearly I was not the only person to think that your actions were violating a principle rule in the server. Notice that I didn't slap you repeatedly for the following rounds?? Wanna know why? Because I didn't see you 'camp' or in spawn late in the round. I thought my point got across well, without having to resort to slaying. Look at the situation from my perspective. I get killed by 2 CT's in the garage, late into the round. I slapped both immediately. You fail to read Green Text or the MOTD and complain that I am abusing you. You have 18 hours on FTC, reading the MOTD takes 5 mins. In your 18 hours, ask yourself how many times you have seen, "CT Spawn Camping over 20 Secs = Admin Slay"??? A hundred, more? How many warnings is sufficient before you realize that if you are caught in spawn getting kills, 1, 1.5, 2mins INTO the round, then from an admin's perspective, you are not trying to get hosties and your intentions are misguided. After 5+ months with admin powers, and being recently promoted to lead admin, clearly I am doing something right. I don't want to come off as pompous or arrogant, but shit. A 50hp slap and a mute were warranted from my perspective in the situation. Next time you come onto the server, before closing the MOTD window, take a few minutes and read it. PS: Please don't try to explain or define what spawn camping is. I am well versed in the commonly accepted FTC definition. PSS: Please don't let this incident prevent you from joining us on FTC again because I don't have any ill will toward you and I hope that you don't have any personal grudge against me.  |
