Oh I'm so down. I still play zombie escape sometimes on CS:S. Never gets old. So down for Office.
Also 15 years for me. Fuck man we are getting old as shit.
Also, loving Back 4 Blood. Highly recommend to everyone who enjoys coop zombie action. I play on steam. gLiTch handle was retired with FT. You can find me as theRemedy on Steam friends.

Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

I owe the FT Classic folks an explanation and yet another apology. As Bob has mentioned elsewhere, the server transition which occurred on the morning of June 19 was initiated by me. It obviously had some influence towards the lack of testing and/or preparedness for the new server. For this I am sorry, and I regret making the decision. Unfortunately it was for a selfish reason, too. I made multiple attempts, over multiple days, to understand the migration plan. This is because the MOTD of the old FTC would need to be updated to reflect dates, times, IP/port, etc. (the old MOTD was stored off of the old FTC server so I was the only person able to update it) There seemed to be an urgency, which was expressed to the public, that Bob and Omni were eager to make the move soon. I felt as if Bob and Omni were not willing to share their plans and this bothered me. In some ways it seemed as though I had already been written off, and they did not need to coordinate anything with me... not one of my finest moments to feel indignant. So when Bob stated that the server was ready, sans my plugins, that night I suggested we get a mostly populated FTC over to the new server and test. This worked out fairly well with no major complaints. Just for the record: I personally had (and still have) no dire complaints about the new server. Based on this positive feedback, I pulled the trigger and forced the migration by changing the old FTC's hostname and MOTD. It is unfair to criticize Bob and Omni for the lack of notice concerning the transition to the new server--blame me instead. Nearly two weeks have unfolded and FT Classic connections still seem dismal. I do not mention this as an excuse for my lack of patience, and more notice certainly should have been given prior to migration, (again, my fault...) but shouldn't have word gotten around by now? The new server performs well enough for me and others--why are so few people connecting? Ugh... no obvious way to fit this in, but I take exception to a comment Bob has made elsewhere: Baghdad Bob wrote ... I had to find my own scripts since alcosatz wouldn't let us use his so it was impossible to please everyone that week. I labored for 2 straight days with absolutely 0 sleep on that server getting it operational. I received so much crap for not having it ready but none of you really understand how much work is put into a server. Especially when I had to make a clone of FTC to reach your standards. -[link]- A slight correction to his statement would be that he already anticipated my reluctance to share cTB, evidenced by our conversation prior to the migration. I was referring to a database dump of hlstatsx and pstats just to put the "dump" question into context!
Why would he anticipate this? Because I explained my position last month, of course. Alcosatz wrote ... I'm not sure how I feel about the scripts and such. Anything not written by me is between the new ops and the script/plugin developers. Since I can't make a commitment to always be there to help with cTB, for instance, I am not very comfortable with passing it on. You've got a bunch of smart people offering to handle op'ing and I'm sure they can find equitable team balance scripts. -[link]- I do not believe it is fair for Bob to imply that I wouldn't allow cTB on the new FTC for selfish reasons. I had solicitously explained my reluctance to share cTB earlier in June for support reasons. Anyway... there is no reason to assume the new FTC will fail. It feels awkward saying this, considering that I am somewhat responsible for this debacle by NOT helping, but I will try to help if I am asked. FT Classic turned three years old today and, while my involvement has recently changed, I would like to see it survive. Thus concludes yet another thread on Canada Day / FT Classic Anniversary Day!
