I am posting this under the surf server forum as I feel this is a server issue that needs to be addressed with the community. I have deleted all the non-pertinent date showing who was killed and how much damage was done but the pertinent text was not touched and a retrieval of the server logs will confirm this if necessary.
I was on the surf server early Friday morning just after midnight attempting to teach Jigg4Joe to surf. Joey and Mugen were present. When I entered the room Empire was a spectator and I said hello to him and let him know that Jigg was going to be in shortly so I could try to teach him how to surf. He advised me that he was going to go lay down but left himself in spectator. I am aware of the fact that Empire is attempting to get into F7L5 and have seen him in spectator quite a bit. I am not sure if he is simply trying to get his hours up but that is my perception. Joey entered the room and let me know that Empire was a spectator again and should be kicked. I said that he told me he was going to lay down so I'll kick him which I did.
A short time later, Empire came back into the game. We all ended up on Japan v8 and then switched to v6. On v6, a player by the name of -=]EXF[=-*NanoN*.:NOR:.(*_*) spawn attacked once, was warned, laughed over the mic, and was slayed for it by me. He was advised to read motd and then began mic spamming for a bit. He spawn attacked a second time leading Joey to slay him this time. He then continued his mic spamming and was muted. This is where the issue with Empire starts. Please see the game text below:

I am asking that Empire be banned for a short time to allow him time to self review his in game conduct and the motd for the server before being allowed back to play on the server. His constant disruptive nature and immature conduct both ruin the gaming experience for those in game and create a negative atmosphere for the admins to have to deal with. The issue of his leaving himself in spectator constantly simply to build up his in game hours also needs to be addressed and I hope that the clan members realize his motivation as both sneaky and underhanded.

Seeing as how I was involved in this, it's time I posted my side. Now, to start off with: Wildcard has posted this tremendously. He has recounted the event perfectly, and has brought up all the facts (as seen from our point of view). So, the beginning. The thing with Empire being in spec all the time. This fact has been commented on recently by other members, and there have been many rumblings as to his reasons for sitting in spec. I don't know why he is always in spec, all I know is that in the last few days, he has spent hours in spec (as far as I've seen). Next, with NanoN. There really isn't much to say here. He spawn attack, both Wild and I warned him to not spawn attack. He proceeded to laugh over his mic, I didn't hear any sort of "sorry" or "I won't do it again" or even and "ok". Just his laughing. Because of this, Wild slayed him because of this. After this, he played nice for a couple rounds, and then proceeded to spawn attack again. I slayed him and told him that I had told him to not spawn attack and that he was slayed for spawn attacking again. I said this at the same time as Wild, except in team chat, instead of regular chat, which is why it doesn't show up in wild's console. He continued to laugh again, and mic spam, so was then muted. After a few rounds he left. Now, the main reason we're here, Empire. To begin with, the events of Japan. As Wild explained, Jigg had just left, and it came down to just Empire and I on CT, no one was on T. So, Empire walked to the edge, and I was walking a few steps behind him. I had planned to move myself to T, once I was out of spawn, but as I walked toward the edge, Wild moved me to T. Upon seeing in the corner that I had been moved to T, I just kind of reacted to the CT standing in front of me. I had a moment of retardedness, and killed him. It didn't dawn on me until after I killed him and he began complaining, that it was in fact a spawn attack/kill and that I in fact had fucked up. I can admit that, I made a mistake and spawn killed. And as shown in the console in Wild's post, I said I couldn't hear him, cause he was talking on the mic but it was really quiet so I rally couldn't hear him. Moving on, we switched to surf_greatriver_remix. This is where things really turned sour. As Wild said, he had to download the map and missed what was said right before he got there. In truth, I also had to download, and got in moments before he did, all that was said that he didn't see was 1 line, by Empire, where he said something along the lines of "I'm not going to follow your rules anymore". Wild made it in right after that, which is where I said "Whys that?" Now, pretty basically, he was very upset because of Admin Rule #4, which states that admins are to be last out of spawn. I would like to say that I don't think I use that rule to my advantage at all, because if any of you have watched me surf, especially on japan, I go the same way every single time. I don't know why, but it's habit. This is true (at least for me) for basically every map with ramp choices, I take the same way basically every single round. ANYWAY, (yes I ramble a bit, I know) So, as you can see in Wild's post, he feels I was using it to my advantage, I tried to tell him that we are last so that we can watch for rule breakers/afks/whatevers. When I said "you're entittled to your opinion, you are not however going to be allowed to play here" that obviously sounds pretty rude on my part, it wasn't suppose to sound like that, but the "if you aren't going to follow our rules" part got cut off (stupid chat limits). The Muting. Now, as you can see in Wild's post, Empire was told many many times that in game wasn't the place to discuss of the flaws (imagined or not) of our rules. He was told that if he wished to continue the discussion, he needed to take it up in the forums. It is neither mine, nor Wild's place to discuss the rules like that, but it is extremly out of place for Empire to rag on them in game. He was told that if he wanted to see a rule changed, then he needed to bring it here, not in game. He was told to drop it, that is very obvious, and it is also very obvious that he refused to let it rest. Wild chose to mute him, and I personally feel it was the right decision. As you can see, Wild informed me about Empire xfiring him and saying that muting him was uncalled for. And obviously, I had to be a smartass and turn around and say something like what I said. But anyway, I saw that something may come of what was going on, which is why I told him to save the console and xfire messages. Now, I would have saved my console, but there is a command in my autoexec (I'm trying to figure out which one) that automatically resets the console at the beginning of every round, so I can't go back and view anything from previous rounds. The "Banning" conversation. Now, seeing as how until now I didn't actually know what was said in these xfire messages, which is why I told Empire (after he left and came back to get unmuted, and after he started asking his questions) that he had been muted due to his refusal to drop the conversation about our rules. As you can see, we then had a map change, taking us to 10x. He thought I was telling him that he was to be banned for his refusal to drop the subject, which is why I told him that I didn't know exactly why Wild was looking to have him banned. As I said, I didn't know what was said in these xfire messages, so I wasn't sure what set Wild on the ban path. This is when Wild informed him that he was to be banned based on his conduct in the game. Now, it was been noted (not just by me and Wild, but by others, I know because I have discussed this with a number of other admins, mostly over xfire convos,) before these events that Empire is often seen to be in a "pissy" mood of sorts, he has complained in the past that nobody ever listens to him, and it makes him mad, though in truth half the time that "nobody is listening to him" he is using the "To Admin" chat, and it isn't seen by the admins because they are surfing or such. I know because a lot of the time I don't see what is said in chat while I'm surfing, especially on long maps. A number of admins have kept their eyes on him, watching for problems. While it wasn't expected, it was "feared" (i guess that will be the term, though that is prolly not the right term in this case) that he may cause problems. I was thoroughly sick of the whole discussion at this point, which is why I said it was enough. Wild was obviously sick of Empire's crap, which I assume it why he kicked him as Empire said bye. The aftermath and my thoughts. Now, prior to having seen the xfire conversation, I was behind Wild's choice of kicking/muting/requesting this ban. I personally think Wild did a good job around this whole thing. And now, upon reading the xfire conversation, I am even more fully behind Wild on this. I feel this was handled nicely, and I think Empire deserved what happened. I think Empire was out of line, he uses the To Admin chat to call people fags all the time, he complains about simple things, and I think he's just overall an immature player. Perhaps this is just me, but thats what I think about this. My conduct. After re-reading the console stuff that Wild posted, and reviewing my own conduct in this situation, I think I may have come off far ruder than I intended too. In my chat comments, I think I may have sounded rude and mean. and I think I perhaps owe an apology for how I sounded. Trust me, how I sound in the chat comments and how I am actually feeling in this case is very different. While I won't say I was happy during this situation, I really didn't mean to sound as rude as I did. As said, I support what Wild did, and what Wild is requesting. |

I know im not even in FT yet, but it is my perception (ive been told by nostie and other admins) that there is no recordings of surf time currently. So Empire shouldnt be punished for being spec. Unless it is a rule, but I have seen many other people going Spec for long periods of time (im in surf for fun and i dont get all serious and pay attn to who it was, so sorry cannot account for any names.) Well just thought I would put my 2 cents in about the being spec thing <3 u wild <3 u Empire, and joey idk you yet but <3 you too bro lol | ||

I wasn't there, but to me it sounds like NanoN was the instigator of the whole thing by pissing off the admins. This made everyone short with each other and that's why you're posting about it here. Although, I do admit, empire has to chill if he really got that pissed over joey knifing him in spawn... I mean it was only one round right? It wasn't like he kept spawnning empire just to piss him off? Just remember, Counter Strike is a GAME. It's supposed to be FUN. Don't get pissed over the little things or you'll get nowhere. I'm not taking anyone's side here, I don't think anyone needs to be blamed for this, since things like this happen sometimes. I'll still vote for empire if he get's nominated, but learn to relax dude. Also, good job documenting this wildcard, but next time you see something sparking up like this, go to console, type: record "misconduct (or any other name you want here)" . @ Empire's XFIRE message. Good admins do mute players, and don't discuss the issue. Why? Becouse if you kept arguing with him it would disrupt the gameplay for the other people there. | ||

Hey, I really didnt want this to go to far.. I wish I had never even said anything. It was late and I think everyone was a lil tired. I just want to apologize to Joey and Wild. I do think that rule should be changed but, I went overboard. I had no right talking to you guys like that. I love the server and I dont want to be banned. Once again I'm sorry and it wont ever happen again. | ||

empire if you want to get in the clan this isnt a good way to start out. i think you guys handled it fairly and did the right thing. Joey being the last out of spawn is following the rules, whether you have a problem with it or not. next time this happens, dont be afraid to ban him. |

Well... as a message to joey, using this rule to your advantage was pretty unfair. Please only use rules to keep gameplay fun for everyone. the xfire message should NOT have been ignored. xfire is a good way to keep messages OUT OF in-game and keep them from disrupting other people's gameplay. I disagree with emer, i don't think banning him would solve anything. he got a mute... that's good for now. if he complains in-game again... a mute will suffice. a third time possibly i'd ban for a small period of time. |

As I said, I don't feel I used the rule to my advantage AT ALL. He believes I wait for him to leave, and then follow him. I do not follow him, as said, I take the same route every time. *claps* nice nice nice, way to start off, for the 3rd time sucks it had to be this, but really, I feel enough is enough, and I'm drunk. but I've sat here reading the posts and everything, and I feel as if you do need to chill in game. I haven't seen you in game yet, but when I get my card, I hope too. Out of game I don't see much improvement, I understand your pm to me, and such, but the follow up after my response was something I was not expecting. I hope you shape up if you really want to be in this, for the 3rd time. |
