I find a stunningly simple way to improve the status of FTS. Take nostie's OP and give it to Pope. also, I've only seen narf on office recently. not on surf. Why does he have OP again? |

ninca we just want a change. its run so strictly around here that it makes it so boring to play and so hard to deal with shit. everyone has problems with everybody. it never used to be this way. we just want to make it a fun enviornment again. get rif of the faggots playing the server, and open up for more leeway. | ||

I'm sure it is easy just to say Nostie ruined everything but to be honest, we all ruined it. We vote on stuff geniuses. It's not like Nostie was like "Ok no HLSS faggots you dumb cunts". Someone made a proposal and you failures voted it threw. And about this "Old members rulz" shit. if old members are so amazing they would have been here with the server and playing in it threw good times and bad, not playing on at and giving up once one thing changes. And then to the new kids coming onto the server. Personally, if I could ban 3 pages worth of brats coming onto the server, our server would be amazing. By the way, CAPSLOCK DEFIANTLY MAKES YOU SOUND SMART AND I CAN TOTALLY UNDERSTAND THE LANGUAGE YOU ARE WRITING | ||

The Ops do a lot more then you think, how do you think all the new maps you post get on the server? How do you think HLSS was banned and the advert was put up? How do you think you see people punished by "console"? You make it seem as if we don't even log onto FTP or Rcon... It's not like whenever we make a slight change in the server it pops up on all your computers saying "THE OPS DID SOMETHING". No. |

im not in F7, but the server is almost full for more then 2/3's of the day. That has to put in for something being done right... I myself love to surf. Even though i didnt surf during the golden age, IMO i think things arent bad. But definitely not as bad as pope and Spartan makes it seem. They make it seem like the server is coming to an end and we all failed. Its really not, just change a few things. Little by little. Nostie did say something smart though. "Gotta do the cooking by the book." lol. Step by step. One layer at a time. And plz, CAPS LOCK makes it a lil more difficult to read. Just add a "!" at the end of the sentence, it means the same thing. |

And now, I'd like to say a few things. One, I've been around (both sexually and time wise). I've seen everything this server has gone through. I actually started gracing on the server durring the digital anarchy stages (the first ones you nubs). Well, before getting into that, I guess I should tell my story. In the spring of 2005, I finaly mustered up the courage to buy the new version of halflife and counterstrike. I had been playing regular CS since the first year it came out, in what, 1998? I played through te major and minor changes of 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, then came the dreaded 1.5!! (duh duh daa). With 1.3, there came no bunny hopping, but with 1.5 came no nothing. The game had changed so much, it just wasn't fun. Now I can't say I ever got to surf in 1.6, but I heard some of the maps were great and all that fun, but whatever. So in the spring of 2005, I went and bought half-life 2. One of the best decisions in my life. But when I installed CS (since I beat HL2 in maybe 3 nights) and played normal Counter Strike, it just wasn't the same, things had changed in the source engine that just made the game shit compared to the early stages of it's life. So I was looking for something new to do, since I knew there were a shit ton of mods for CS. I stumbled upon a server called ATHF 24/7 surf, where I met KDdude. Man did I suck at surfing, I couldn't get past the first section of leet_beta for the life of me, but the people there were chill, and I laughed a lot, had a lot of fun. Then that shut down. Sad day, I go to check my favorites, and the server isn't on it anymore. So I searched frantically for the server I had fallen in love with, but it was gone. So I had to find a new server to grace my incredibly long penis on (which is why I was bad at surfing I found out, people kept telling me I was tripping on my dick). Yadda Yadda Yadda, I moved my home to SCS, the greatest clan of 12 men I would ever sleep with (I got the sweet 13th member spot/award from them all). They were a shit ton of fun, and is where I met Ping Pong. They even had this admin command that I haven't seen since, called rocket, where you would turn red, start beeping, then all of a sudden lift off to the skys, it the top, fly around, then BOOM, you'd explode in a furry of ma_explode, ma_slay, and ma_gaysex. After They broke up, and that damn brit (no offense) decided to stop paying for the server, I was lost again. This is when I stumbled into FTS for good. I had come in before, but the players were too good, and very intimidating with their admin chat and slappage, and sometimes just kicking for the hell of it. But when I became a regular on the server, it just felt right. I would spend many useless nights (instead of doing hw) playing Surf with a full server till atleast 4am, for a good 4-5 months straight. And every night I would be crying because I was laughing so hard. Eventually The clan held a tryout, and lucky for me, I missed it! I was busy and couldn't go... I was a little upset because I had become a better surfer, I could finish most easy maps, and could shoot people with my guns, even if I didn't kill them, I still hit them, and that is all that matters. About a week later, I'm surfing around the map, and KD, Spart and narf are on, I was like "hey guys! wazzup!" and KD was like, "Hey Rusty, I think you should put the F7 tags on." and I go, being retarded "how?" So after an hour of KD explaining to me, every character/space in the tag, I finally got it on, then I had to register to the forums. And so the story goes on. Wednesday, March 01, 2006 -- Present as an official on the forums/server member of F7L5. I had a lot fo fun back then with allthe players, and there were not many people I didn't like. Soon enough Ping had found his way into the server, and some other SCS guys, and I had gotten to know allthe F7 players and FTS regs. It was a blast playing with everyone every day. This was for me, when cs beat out any other game, and I could play it for 10 hours in a day without realizing it because I had so much fun. Now when I compare that to these days, I can maybe go on for an hour, tops, and get annoyed with people (the new regs of the server) really quickly. This is the only reason I'm down for change. I've been here a long time, and the server is loosing its feel to me. I'm not going to give up on F7L5 or FTS, no way, because I love the serve, and I love the clan. I may have my disputes with members and stuff like that, but really I like you all. I just wish some people could take the sticks out of their asses. As for the ops, I don't blame any of this on them, I blame mostly on the players who are a little younger, and the admins, or the young players who are admin. Don't get my wrong, I love you guys, but what you find funny and what an 18+ year old finds funny are a little different. I expect you to condone the high pitched bitching and whining and poop jokes and constant playing of bad music, because that is what is fun for you. But for me, the only things I really enjoyed over hlss are good old classic hits, like some journey, or the family guy can't touch me, to some of the sing along, because it was funny to hear some of the players sing with a song, even if not in the right time. But my favorite HLSS of all time was the nostalgic songs, like Glas4ed's inspector gadget. That brought back memories. What I miss the most though from the old server would have to be on a map, like superted, where admins would have someone jump off, try and freeze them before they hit bottom (kind of like roulette) and then allthe admins would slap the shit out of them, unfreeze them, and boom, right to the moon! And time boms of that sort are always good motivation to get the fuck out of spawn. Now that I have not really covered anything of what you all talked about, I just thought I'd like to share my experiences. As for change, I don't know. I enjoy some strictness on the server, but I just wish it wasn't extended to anyone, just the people who make the server bad, like most of the regular players today (not all though!). I remeber when Narf tried to make the server strict because it was getting out of control. I also remember that failing miserably because he himself couldn't not laugh at some of the abuse that happened. But it was a try. What we have now is forced, and that what makes it seem so bad. It feels like some of the admins, to look better, go out of their way to punish, most of them don't even send out warings! I'd just like to suggest that admins, don't try to punish, because thats not fun, having to tipetoe around a surf server. If someone does something wrong, tell them, maybe a slay, since that doesn't really hurt anyone. Unless they continue, there is really no reason to continue with being a douche to people. Like the other day, some guy came over the mic and was like "I'm glad you admins are really doing your job when I got portal camped." So I say something back like "sorry I can't see everything that goes on while I'm surfing" and the guys starts to bitch more and more, so I bitch back at him,b ecause I was playing, and didn't see someone portal camp, but when I died, I asked him who did it, and I typed to them nicly in green chat to not portal camp, and everything was good. Pope was there, and jumped on the bitch wagon with me at that guy though, just like the old days! I loved it. enough rambling, if you didn't read any of that, it says, I just thing we need to talk to a bunch of our admins, and get some things straight, like what to, and not to condone on the server, and that can change the world...of FTS! |
