Hey guys, so just thought you'd like to know what I'm up to, and right now I'm trying to break into the film world. I have put together some random shots and pieces of a final project from college for a short 30 second reel. So here it is, please check it out, and let me know what you think. Spread it if you know someone looking for a director/director of photography/editor/etc -[link]- Also, I'll be adding that short film from my last video production class at college. |

Thanks a ton guys. Yes, that's my Boston, he's around 10 months old and the greatest dog I've ever owned. The song is just a random jingle from garage band. All I was trying to prove was I have a good sense of background music to set a mood and tempo. also my final short from college is in the link below. -[link]- |

I bet you have no clue about film... That was final final assignment for my video classes in college, which I got an A in for pre, production and post, then marketing and advertising. The plot is based on purgatory, and finding out who you really are. Also, it's a voyeuristic traits on some of the shots, to make it feel like you're seeing something you're not supposed to be seeing, a big play on human curiosity. Then the biggest part is the lighting and the sound, which I personally think is the strongest point. I know towards the end the film gets a little rushed, and I was working at a college with no acting classes, so finding an actor or actress that was even slightly decent was hard, but I thought my main actor did a great job for his first time on camera, and it even got him to change his major because the experience was so well. To me it looked like you were getting shots of nothing from bad angles with bad lighting and no post processing. This is what you decide to show FT with your name attached? You have to ask yourself, "Is this good enough to continue pursuing it as my career" The answer is no. No it's not. Maybe I'll call you if I need some unsteady shots of leaves and bubbling brooks. Yea, one was a moving shot, so couldn't run with a tripod, also the power of FCP to process a HD shoot isn't great, well the version I have, so it's a little choppy in that sense. Also, the camera I was using was a new SD only camera, it must of weighed 2lbs, and it was impossible to not shake, I have a pretty steady hand when it comes to shooting. Most shots from the second piece I posted it with a heavier dv camera, and there is barley any shake. Thanks for the input, it's better than other advice I've recieved, aka "don't go into that career." Fucking prick |
