Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

Yeah so I know not everyone is a basketball fan or even knows any players... but Lebron James was always one of my favorites alongside of Kobe Bryant, and in the past year he has been an amazing ball player. He has his bad faults... and you can honestly pick out alot because he does, but here is a game where he honestly fucked up the Pistons on his team. You can see the Cavalier teammates just standing off to the side and letting this beast fuck them up, and you can see the pistons on defense just standing around not doing anything and sucking hardcore its a myspace vid.... sorry -[link]- umm wtf bbq HAX?!?!? |

I got into an argument recently over which player was better. The other person picked Wade, and I picked James. He said he picked Wade because James wasn't clutch. That game right there proved that he is clutch, and he outscores Wade. Who's the better player? James. | ||

They both are very good shooters. Wade has more speed and the moves. Lebron can get it done in the paint. Lebron is the better player. |

James didn't have that great of a season this year... I believe he only made the All NBA second team. Still bomb, but many critics say he underperformed in the 82 and was chewed about his drive/pass to Donyell Marshall at the end of game 1 vs the Pistons instead of taking the open layup to tie the game. LeBron does have loads of potential though, but his coach/team let him do what he wants to and only get involved when LeBron 'permits' them to. I still have reservations about his mental toughness and a stellar 48 point clutch performance isn't enough to be convincing at this point. I can't wait to see what James does in the future,,, hes still 22 right? Kobe is a solid player. He was unconscious for those 3 weeks when it seemed like he scored 50 points everytime he touched the court. He did carry the Lakers into the playoffs this year. Truth be told, I've been a 'Kobe-Hater' ever since his early ballhoggin' days. He did chase Shaq out of LA and cheated on his wife. For ball fans, those situations are difficult to forget. Aside from that he has been on the All NBA All-Defensive squad multiple times,,, which shows that he's more than a scorer and a good two way player, but his off-court BS sometimes overshadows what he does on the court. He is a pure scorer and I was fortunate enough to witness the 81 point performance against the Raptors (while I was cheering for the Raps here in the T-Dot). But his latest comments to Stephen A. Smith on an ESPN radio show suggest that Kobe can't keep his ego in check. Saying how he wants to be traded and how there is nothing the Lakers can do to make him stay... only to be back on the airwaves a few hours later (after having spoken to Phil) and the dude changed his tune completely saying how now he wants to be a 'Laker for life'. Its more ammo for the Kobe haters. Wade is a bomb player but the Heat got whooped this year. They did struggle all season. First Shaq was out with injury and the team was on Wade's shoulders, then Wade was out and the team was on Shaq's,,, ended up they went on a bit of a roll in the last 15 games of the season to squeak into the playoffs in the 7th spot and get swept by the Bulls in the first round. (First time on 50 years that a defending NBA champ got swept in the 1st). Granted they have an old team, (Payton, Walker, Mourning, Shaq) but as a team they are past their prime. I think that Wade is similar to Arenas in that both players are probably quicker to display their GQ covers instead of SI covers... but Wade does have skills and he keeps comin at ya. Let me throw another name out there... Steve Nash. Nash is able to get his team involved and the Suns are one of the Elite teams in the league. On games where Nash has 20 points and 20 assists, that means that he facilitates 60+ points, usually en route to a victory. While LeBron, Kobe and Wade are good players,,, I think Nash is a Great player. Greatness is more than putting up big personal numbers, its about making your teammates better. Jordan, Magic and Bird were all Great players for this reason and its sad that in today's NBA, Nash does't get the recognition he deserves. (Just as a heads up to the true hoop heads: Its clear that the NBA has had a recent infusion of international players,,, just look at about any team and you will see some non-American players and many of them are in key roles for their teams. Dirk, Nash, Manu, Parker, Bargnanai(#1 pick last year), Bogut, Yao, Nocioni, Peja, Calderon, Barbojosa, Darko (lawls, but he was picked ahead of Melo in the draft) and the list goes on. The trend is continuing because basketball is a global sport and its growing each year. For next season, teams will hold their preseason training camps overseas and play some games over there. David Stern is a genius. And it is actually very viable to globalize in this way and will be more beneficial than say NFL Europe,,, lawls. Ok, just a heads-up: There's this kid called Ricky Rubio and he's only 16. He plays in a Spanish league which is the 2nd best professional Bball league in the world behind the NBA. He plays with grown men and has already had a major impact on his team. There's a lot of talk about him and his ability. He is very very young and barring any serious injury, he could end up as one of the NBA's best a few years down the line. *Edit, Shit i thought this was in the Round Table (sports forum). My bad. Got me all amped about Bball. Edited Sat Jun 02 2007, 06:05PM |
