okay, so recently I reformatted all the computers in my house. everything was great until Justin wanted to watch a movie, then the fight started... didn't update my drivers. so I proceed to dell like nothing was wrong and download my drivers. done, done and done. Oh we're sorry, but the drivers you installed are the correct ones but I'm a piece of shit and I'm going to give you a random fucking error message. So, I google and research wtf is wrong. Turns out, if you don't update the intel chipset first, it can't read shit thats plugged into it. Makes sense, so I update that shit. WRONG, we're missing a file that you have to find, so go do that and we'll wait. the file was called "usbehci.sys" and as soon as I installed it, browsed it in the install screen, and got it working, it was all like "oh were sorry, this is the right file but we have to test it. so I was like FUCK THAt continue anyway. it finishes installing, and I restart my computer. then, I reinstall my audio driver. NOTHING, still having the same fucking errors coming up, etc. Before I ever had to reformat this piece of shit, I VIVIDLY remember seeing Sigmatel Audio somewhere on my computer. so I know it is a sigmatel driver. And the computer is a Dimension E510 Piece O' Shit. I'm getting frustrated, and advice or help would be awesome. P.s. is there a "driver inspector" or some shit that can just recognize my drivers and install them all and update them all for me, or is that a dream that costs actually money? |

you can A) suck it up and call India (not tech support, that would be too generous) B ) find out whats inside your pc for a sound card (assuming you have one), then go to that manufacturer's website and pray it's not in chinese. C) sacrifice a chicken over your keyboard, say the chant of "ctrl alt delete," and do three somersaults. |

I figured out the problem anywayz. Downloaded a program to check all my drivers and shit, found out exactly what model Sigmatel Driver I had, downloaded the original, then the updates from dell.com. worked right away. |
