What you just said is way way way to veg lol. but you can follow Pockyninja's guide to avatars. First start at Google or any preferred search site. Look for a image that you like something that will display well smaller. If you just want that simple picture then download it and change it's size in photo shop or mspaint. Every forums has a different max size but it is always posted above the area to add a avatar. "Maximum avatar size (wxh) is 125 pixels. x 125 pixels" In this case the size is in pixels so make sure that when you lower the size or raise the size that it is also in pixels and not inches. (unit of measurement). Then find a site like photobucket to host your image. After uploading it go to settings on our forums and scroll down to avatar and put in the url under the url spot. If you did it right then it should display one. Of course that is the basic of basics. Other steps will be taken in between if you want to make it look cooler but there are far to many different things you can do with a avatar to list them all. I could add steps if I knew more of the direction your going in here lol. |

Well, i'd actually like to be able to make my own graphic for it, what i am supposed to use i'm not sure, I just need a guideline of what i need to get to make my own avatars and such. | ||

What you need is anything that can create a picture and there are more program then there are stars in the sky my friend. A normal choice would be Photoshop. Personally if I were making it from scratch I would start off with a rough paper sketch. Then using the computer to add color and make the lines more defined. In the end there are still a lot of choices you have when making a avatar all you need is the end result to be ether a jpg, gif, or a bmp. Those three formats are useable on any forums I have ever known. If you make it a gif you can make a moving avatar like goose has but I really don't know much about how that works. Also if you want to start off from paper then you will need a scanner. It is really a matter of what you want to do which determains what the best way to archive that effect is. (I cant tell if your joking or not Hunansux. While it might be stupid it dose answer his question lol) |
