Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

Relying on the forum for math help isn't my most desired option, but it's all I got for now. Anyway, on to the problem. Vincente and Ricarda have invested $27,000 in bonds paying 7%. How much additional money should they invest in a certificate of deposit paying 4% simple interest so that the total return on the two investments will be 6%? The only thing I've accomplished is establishing the obvious, that is: x = additional money they should invest at 4% what I know: [return on investment 1] + [return on investment 2] = [total return] [return on investment 1] = 27000 * .07 = 1890 [return on investment 2] = x * .04 [total return] = [total investment] * .06 No idea how to find x... |

alright im fuckin really bored and sick so here u go.... $27,000 * 0.07 + x * 0.04 = ($27,000 + x ) * 0.06 (27000 * 0.07) + 0.04x = (27000*0.06) + 0.06x 1890 + 0.04x = 1620 + 0.06x 1890 - 1620 = 0.06x - 0.04x 270 = 0.02x x = 270/0.02 x = $13,500 Edited Sat Jan 31 2009, 07:32AM |

if 27000k invested at 7 percent plus x amount of money invested at 4 percent than it equals the sum of the two dollar values above * 6%. |
