Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

Here is my review of Cloverfield. I am not going to lie, I have waited for this movie since I have seen the trailer back when I saw Transformers on release. It is probably one of the most anticipated movies ever to come out. Everyone wanted to see what the monster was, ect. And now, the day is finally here. Filmed from the first person perspective, JJ Adams decides to go with something that has only been done in movies like Blair Witch Project. Granted, those movies didn't have a huge monster destroying a metropolitan area. It piqued my curiosity for the longest time to see what it would be like from a person's perspective. It was everything I expected it to be, but a little better. I was filled with anticipation and my stomach felt like I was moving backwards not knowing where I was heading. I felt like I was right there in the action with shit exploding while I was tucked under a tiny crevice watching what was going on. The chaos was nicely done in the movie and it couldn't have sounded better with that movie theater surround sound. They do mix personal problems from the characters so you sort of get an understanding of who they are. Not to mention the camera man, who was hilarious the whole way through. You will laugh in this movie, a lot. It's not all about the big monster destroying shit. Even though it was anticipated to be near-perfect, the movie was hit and miss. You never really know how the creature came to be. It lacked a story, or any background of where the damn thing came from. Some things that happened were inexplicable and you will find your self saying "what the fuck?" I was a little disappointed with the visuals as well. But then again, I'm just a critic. We piss and moan about the smallest things. I kind of got the distinct feeling that the director himself didn't know what the monster was, or what the movie was. It kind of felt like a huge marketing campaign was thrown in our faces, and it worked. All in all, Cloverfield was certainly a ride. You can't really expect much of a story to come from a monster making a rubble out of a city movie. The chaos was adrenaline pumping, and was certainly enough to have you on the edge of your seat. If you are one that must have a storyline in your movie, or are over your mid 30s, then this isn't the movie for you. It's a great popcorn flick, and it succeeds doing what it wanted to do, giving you a general idea of how chaotic it would be for just any average person on the streets witnessing it. I felt that my 9 dollars was well spent. Go see it, it won't be worth renting in the future because you don't have theater surround sound. Final score: 8.5 out of 10. |

knight, very good job on a non-spoiler critique. Your are like me in a way, enjoying the movie like you were right there. Some people just dont understand that. You cant judge a movie on how its not like the others. You judge it for what it is. Its a camcorder movie, and for that, it did a great job. Ima just re-quote my critique from my thread so people dont have to go back and forth. glitchisthebestest wrote ... just saw the movie. People complain because the movie was a camcorder. HONESTLY WTF FAGS. If you watched a fuckin trailer or went to the website, IT TELLS YOU THAT. Dont complain for that reason. For a personal video camera movie, it was epic. You felt like you were there, one of the people not knowing WTF was going on. The movie was hella suspenseful, and i think it was the MOST suspenseful movie i have seen thus far. This is because i tend to get INTO the movie when i watch it. It was short however, but i understand why. And ANYONE with any slight intelligence will understand why as well when you see it. I give it a 10/10. P.S. It is nothing what you think... and dragon....ROFL.... Think again. Its america's monster of today. Truly unique in design. If you are like me, like suspense, and love it when a character in the movie find out something important, then go see it. It makes you feel like you were there, and makes you want more. And btw, knight... knight wrote ... Some things that happened were inexplicable and you will find your self saying "what the fuck?" I know exactly what part u are talking about lol.... poor girl. |

So here is the real question what is the movie really about? I seen the trailers and not much of a answer. You say it has something to do with a monster but little storyline. Anything you can add to kinda help with what it is about or what kinda movie it is? | ||

The movie is truly about 9/11 on NYC, like Godzilla was the Atomic Bombs on Japan. Straight and simple. I've yet to see the film, but in reading many many many online reviews, somehow I've found many writen 100% like nightriders, or one, written like his, posted on many movie sites. Good job. Also, like Maddog said, it's not adams, it Abrams. But I can't wait to see this, considering I am, at heart a movie critic. |

Oh yay more thinly veiled 9/11 references. BE AFRAID! TERRORISTS! MONSTERS! FEAR FOR YOUR LIVES! VOTE FOR ME! Blair Witch Project made me want to strangle kittens. So I'm not going to see this, however... Jumpers looks cool. Like everyone has nightcrawlers power from xmen... sweet. |

Anything you can add to kinda help with what it is about or what kinda movie it is? The movie is about some monster that you never really know where it comes from, until the end. It was a small thing I missed. You really can't decipher any kind of meaning from a movie like that. It's your typical monster rampage movie. I won't ruin what happens, so you will have to see the movie for yourself to know. |

Anything you can add to kinda help with what it is about or what kinda movie it is? Knight is right, its a monster destroying everything. JJ Abrams wanted two things from this movie, to watch it like you were gathering evidence for the military, and feel like you were right there. Basically what the producers are saying is that, you find out, when the military and the civilians find out. Its not your typical movie. No one knows what it is, or where it came from. The military just knows, something big is rampaging in NYC, and they have to do everything they know to stop it. Your setting takes place as a civilian in Manhattan, innocently trying to get out the city. If your the type of person who is close-minded and likes ONE type of movie... which is story, what happened, what is it, and where did it come from, how do you kill it, etc, etc, etc, the person who wants to know EVERYTHING, then this movie is not for you. Do what i said, and you will enjoy this movie. Im going again today to see it with some friends. Thats how good i thought it was. |
