I am building my first desktop. I want my first to be amazing, so I am splurging. I want a quad processor, Nvidia 8800, a nifty cooling system (so i can OC), a 22"+ monitor, 7.1 surround sound with killer speakers, and i want a fast HD, im thinking either a raptor, or two 7200s set up in raid. If anyone has any suggestions, or cool things for me to look at please offer your assistance ((it will be MUCH appreciated.)) nate |

Sometimes I like to go there and make the best pc specs known to man then drool for a while, then cry myself to sleep because I'll never afford one. Go there and build one if you're bored! |

ok for one... at your rate.. if you wanna spend 2g's or more go right ahead. The Vid card alone is like almost half a G. Oh and do not go with liquid cooling. yes it does keep things cool, but its not worth it. not only is it expnsive.. But water and electronics dont mix no matter how you put it. If one lil screw or anything leaks, your whole EXPENSIVE system will short, and thus you will turn emo and kill yourself. Not to mention u have to keep up on it. Maintenance. Building a PC isnt that hard. Get a good motherboard, preferably PCI Express with SLI compatibility, since everything else is becoming obsolete, and just put in a processor, preferably AMD Athlon 64, since it is better for gaming, RAM, go with 2 or more gigs, a 250gb HD, you dont need more then one, since u will never use that much space. Connect via SATA or whichever way u feel. Your monitor, if you want 22 inch ur lookin at a good $350+ depending on the brand. Go with widescreen, cuz you cant beat it. Now, for a case. I told you not to go with Liquid Cooling, so you want a Full Tower. Lots of space to work with and as much fan slots as possible, as well as with some style. You will need the ventilation. Also, if you have an extra PCI slot not being used you could grab an exhaust fan. I have one and it sends all my hot air comming from my vid card out of my case. Vid card fan pulls air from the vid heatsink, and that same fan blows that hot air to the exhaust fan. For a case, try this one. -[link]- This has plenty of room for everything you want. AND A SHIT LOAD OF COOLING. You dont need water cooling when u have this. 120mm fan ont he front, 120mm fan in the back, 90mm fan in the back, 90mm fan on the top and a HUGE 250mm fan on the side panel. Now u have this, with a vid card fan, cpu fan, PCI exhaust fan, and maby a HD fan, and your lookin at a super cool system. Which is overall better then a liquid cooling, and cheaper, since most of your fans and shit come with the case... The only thing abotu this case is that its HUGE. Read its dimensions. And i think it weighs like 42 fuckin pounds lol. I would buy it, and i just might. I dont move my case around at all so it dont matter. If you dont want that one go with this one, -[link]- its also a full tower, comes with a VERY reliable factory 500w power supply, unlike the previous case i listed, and is hard to come by. Also comes with a mesh-like wire wrap for all your wires. Keeps your case neat, and it will keep it cooler providing more air-flow. Looks really cool as well. About the sound system, i have a 5.1 and it rocks. 7.1 you dont need, it doesnt make much of a difference. All it does is take up more room, consume more power, and produces more wires for the ultimate birds nest. For a sound card, go with this one -[link]- this card is the shit and is very cheap now. You want awsome sound for your games. This will make you feel like your a Terrorist. Ill keep posting some mor eshit for you late ron. |

umm.. if you have the money... buy it. lol Well worth it.. but seriously not needed. Fun to have but not nearly that necessary. The only thing that i see as a problem is the heat it produces. Buy a heavy duty CPU fan, and use that big heavy ass case i listed above with all those fans... the 42lb one, and u can keep this baby cool. | ||
