Oh I'm so down. I still play zombie escape sometimes on CS:S. Never gets old. So down for Office.
Also 15 years for me. Fuck man we are getting old as shit.
Also, loving Back 4 Blood. Highly recommend to everyone who enjoys coop zombie action. I play on steam. gLiTch handle was retired with FT. You can find me as theRemedy on Steam friends.

Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

Throughout this, by choices I mean things that I've found. If anyone can find anything they think is better I'm all ears. things highlighted in blue are my preferred choice (unless i can be convinced otherwise) Processor 4 choices: 1: 2.4 Ghz E6600 Core 2 Duo (L2 Cache: 4mb shared)- $313 -[link]- 2: 2.13 Ghz E6400 Core 2 Duo (L2 Cache: 2mb shared)- $222 -[link]- 3: 3.4 Ghz Pentium D (L2 Cache: 2mb per core) - $173 -[link]- 4: 3.0 Ghz Pentium D (L2 Cache: 2mb per core) - $136 -[link]- Motherboard 1 choice (unless of course someone finds me something better for less ): 1: Intel G965 1333/1066mhz FSB DDR2 800mhz Ram (4 slots) 4 SataII slots (3.0 gb/s) 1 ATA100 slot 1xPCIe16x slot $96 -[link]- Hard Drives (need 2, have 1 picked out) HD 1: 1 choice: 1: WD Caviar 500 GB 7200 RPM sataII(3.0 gb/s) $140 -[link]- HD 2: 2 choices: 1: 150 GB WD 10,000 RPM -[link]- 2: 160 GB WD 7,200 RPM SataII -[link]- Case 1 choice: 1: Possible, but I'm told I'll need more than 350W power supply, so maybe just get the case (which I'm told is a hell of a good price) with the power supply and keep it as backup. $60 -[link]- Power Supply 0 choices: Narf tells me i should get as high as possible (500-550W) but I've heard people say 450 would be fine. any opinions/can anyone find me a good power supply? Hmmm what else do I need? dvd/cd drives... but they might come with the case, am i wrong?... I have two in this computer that I could simply swap to the next one, but i think maybe upgrading to higher speed drives would be better. (16x write, 40x read now) (but they write at like 3x tops) Well I think that's it... but if anyone can think of anything, or has an opinion on anything - I'm all ears. Thanks for the help! dude you are going to be sucking a lot of energy, i would go with at least 600W for the power supply, maybe 700W. WD makes a 150Gb 10000 RPM hard drive, but it's expensive (~$200). PSU: -[link]- HDD: -[link]- |

Question, if you install a power suply that's way to big for your computer (like a 700W when you only need 450W) could it fry the circuts or have any negative consequences (besides paying for more than you need)?

Narf says: no. Nostie says: but paying for the extra wattage sucks... then again, you can expand more later |

A PSU only uses the power it needs at the moment, it doesn't constantly use 550 watts, the more your cpu load is, the more power it uses.

the PSU just acts as a big transformer, metering out the power from your outlet to the parts that need it. a 700W PSU just means that it is capable of distributing up to 700W, it doesn't let that much through unless you need it. buying more than you needed used to be a waste because PSUs weren't very efficient, so they would meter out more wattage than necesarry. nowadays, they are getting better at using only what is needed. |
