I used to think the only bone I ever had to pick with kernel was the fact that he had the tendency to mic spam. Kernel’s mic spamming was nothing that a few warnings and/or a mute couldn’t fix. Not a big deal. That benign assessment of kernel came to an abrupt halt tonight. Kernel and I were both on T; and our team was owning. So, being the breed of admin who likes even teams, I gave CTs cash for a few rounds. That didn’t work. I gave CTs health for a few rounds. That didn’t work. I made a comment that teams were stacked, in the hope that someone on T would be willing to go CT. I would have gone myself, but being ranked fifth on my team and barely scraping by with an even KDR, I knew that I would not be much help. Considering how stacked teams were, I decided to give the CTs our best player, kernel. So, I switched him, hoping that would even things out. Unfortunately, kernel, upon realizing he had been switched, quickly switched himself back to T. Now, angered, I switched him back, mid-round, killing him in the process. I figured he’d realize that he was not auto-switched, and that I wanted him on CT. Kernel switched back to T. Now, as my fuse burned dangerously close to the mushroom-cloud-laying-zero-hour, I once again switched him back to CT. Kernel then replied something to the effect of “Screw this, I don’t like playing CTâ€. He then announced he was leaving due to being switched over to CT. By the way, kernel, consider yourself lucky you left quickly. After reading your comment about being switched, I immediately started queuing up the command to ban you for a week. Unfortunately (fortunate for you), you left quickly after making those comments. The icing on the cake comes with kernel’s having the unmitigated gall to ask me, tonight, if I would put in a good word for his being in the clan. Kernel, let me be blunt: if tonight is any indication of your true personality, not only will I not “put in a good wordâ€, I will pull every string and cash in every favor I can to ensure that you are never in FT. Not now, not ever. Look, I know that when you are accustomed to playing T, you hate having to play CT. I totally agree. I hate CT, and when I am lucky, I can rock the .75 KDR when on CT. But, those of us who love T all have to, from time to time, take our licks on CT. I don’t like it, but I don’t like playing on an empty server either. Kernel, you seem like a decent person and a fairly good player, but don’t ever again pull the same shit you did tonight. Hence forth, I will ban you in a second. |

Well kernel you heard it, be a good guy and co-operate, playing fairly, and trying to even teams is a big thing this community, it shows good integraty, and that you like to keep it even as possible. Just so the server doesnt empty, you should have been glad, you were the top ranked at the time, so he switched you. Learn from this, change if you have to, and maybe youll get in bro. |

Not that this changes anything... but that comment sent to the admins was in response to what I said to him. I basically said "Kernel, just do what he says if you don't want him to hate you." Now I have recently grown to love playing with you, Kernel. But I do agree with Fetus in saying that if an admin switches you for team balance, you should stay switched. A while later, maybe ask if you can switch back. Don't be a dick about it though. About Kernel never being in FT? That's bull. Maybe not soon, considering he has some work to do and some respect to gain. But as you pointed out in your anniversary post, Fetus, not everyone in the clan was always liked. |

What the fuck was he thinking? He keeps insisting that he's changed, and we start to believe him, and then BAM! this happens. Ive played with him fefore, and not been too impressed, but after reading this, if we were to vote on him getting in, i would definately vote no. Reasons: 1. You cant give admins shit. No matter what. 2. You cant go doing anything you want. If the admin wants to even the teams, and swaps you to the other team, take it as a complement! He thinks you're good enough to even out the teams. 3. I wasnt too impressed when i played with him before, so i needed a better image of him before i were to vote yes. How many chances are needed before he gets a clue? I'm sure that he would have been banned a long time ago, had it not been for the 'FT second chance policy'.  Other servers don't put up with this shit because they just perma ban the problem and that is a sufficient means to end the strife. Clearly Kernell has shown that he doesn't give a shit and he takes the community's lienience for granted. He's flossin' around in (what he percieves to be) a cape of invincibility and his rash disregard for policy and authority shows that he's a complete and utter douche-nugget. We'll see if he appologizes again, because that would be funny and extremely played-out. EDIT: His post magically appeared while I was typing.  Saying that you cannot play CT is a fuckin load of shit. Seriously? You are unable to play as a CT? Wow. You may prefer beign a T, and that's fine. I prefer being a CT. blow me blow me blow!!! i swapped back, after seein that does not wthe server. did i tk, did i mic spam, did i teamflash, spam nades, what else, hack, no!! the bigger picture, wel here it is, i do go by the rules, i dont play ct so swap me there and i try tog et back, leave if that dont wrok, so what the matter with that? i guess im jut hated by lots, and im susposed to apologize or something, blow that, Menk it!! i didn't revert to how i used to be, so this has nothing to do with that. awaiting another stupid menking response. is FT a clan or community? do u have matches? bowser said if im correct that he played in one with FT. douche-nugget? menk? | ||

I'm thinking that kernel has had relatively good behavior lately, and it seems like there was some confusion on the switching last night. I know from personal experience that I do not always make it clear why I switch people, or when I want people to switch themselves. It's nice when most people are on the "same page" about team balance, but there are vastly different views on when and why to switch around. We have a lot of people that prefer one team or the other. I used to not care either way, but I've become quite a whore when it comes to being a T. Partially, I understand the argument of not wanting to go over to CT when I am really not much help over there. On the other hand, it's selfish to let the other team suffer just because I'm worried about my score. It happens from time to time, and I do make every effort to give cash and health as it seems reasonable; however, there are times when I just say 'fuck it' and let my pride and ego take a beating and play CT. Kernel, the thing you need to keep in mind is that while you may not play CT's well, you play T's very well -- if you're on the CT team it's one less skilled T that the CT's have to worry about. Besides, if you're so skilled why don't you challenge yourself and practice on CT in that situation? Also, I know communication can be brief and difficult to see/interpret (I frequently look through the logs and miss things that other admins say to me), but when an admin switches you three times you should be able to take a hint that he wants you to stay over there. Just try to cooperate with admins a bit more and you can probably sort this out. |
