ok here we go. now you got me started shankster. ok so im a Christian and yes i do practice my religion. ok shankster you tell me if there is no higher power then how was the world created. and dont say the big bang theory because the theorist who made that theory came to religion afterwards and admitted that he was wrong and that there is a higher power so thats out the window. ok now lets talk about the 10 commandments. it is a set of rules to follow to get to heaven but everyone breaks them thats why there is the whole forgivness for our sins deal. so thats taken care of. God does not force you to pay tithe. he asks you to give up 10% to him 1st to prove you are not ruled by greed and money and second to provide for his works. now god could just have the money show up, but instead asks the people to freely give money to his cause which in the end he is getting the money he needs. 2 i have always found for some strange reason that when i give tithe that i have money when i need it. and things eventually work out in my favor. hmmm by giving money to glorify god i get happiness and am provided for in return. thats a pretty dam good deal. and finally this whole god and religion thing could be wrong in the end and it was all a hoax but at least i had a purpose a faith to hold on too and to live for and i lived one dam happy life through that faith and purpose.

Yeah, GJ Kevin. I am also going to assume that you think Islam is a religion just as old as Judiasm. Well, it's not. Both Christianity and Islam are branches off of Judiasm. Jews were told that their messiah would return. Christians believed that the messiah was Jesus, Jews are still waiting. That's their difference. Jesus was convicted of blasphemy and the Roman's were asked to kill him. Islam was created 7th century. Israel and Israelites go back further than 59 years, and before Islam was even a religion. EDIT: Oh shit, sorry pocky, didn't see your post, I read the first page then made the reply then it brought me to the second place so I read your post, and you pretty much nailed it. But while I am here in the edit, Kevin, the muslim-extremists aren't there for their land. Their are there to kill the Jews AND take the land. Israel keeps giving them their land back bit by bit to what they ask for but then they turn around and keep fucking up Israel. Edited Wed Apr 11 2007, 04:06AM |

Man I could go on and on about my views, but I'm going to sleep so I'll keep it short. Basically I see the universe in terms of an infinant funnel that loops back into itself (hard to imagine) so in a way, we are our own "higher being". The earth seems massive to us, but to someone else it could be the size of an atom. God, as you put it, just simply has to be something that views the earth in this way. In that, he can manipulate our existance, but just becuase he is bigger does not make him the end all highest being... what if he... was you, and you were the one manipulating your own existance. Time for this higher being would move much slower (as Einstien suggests). I base this assumption off of "M theory" or "Membrane Theory" (a new theory that suggests there are multiple universes, the big bang was not the creation of all existance, but there where multiple big bangs where universes collide, and oh yeah, the 11th dimension). Very interestiong to look into. I'll post a bigger essay tomorrow. |

Nonetheless, Israel is the holy land that was given to the Israelites from God, not Palestine morons. I agree with what Amped said as well. You're supporting terrorism, and suicidal attacks on innocent people. What kind of justice is that? It's not even their damn land. They just think it is, yet they are not the holy people that the land was granted to. If it wasn't for religion (Christianity in my case) Then I as well as 300 kids probably would have killed ourselves this weekend. It's not about society telling us that someone such as God exists just to keep the social well being of our community, it's about faith and believing that He's there. Our free will is what causes war, so when you ask the question "If God loves us so much, then why does war and poverty happen?" The answer I'm going to give you is that he granted us free will, and if you don't know that mankind is evil, then you're either really stupid or mentally retarded, and should be in a "What's Eating Gilbert Grape 2." Go climb a water tower, silly atheists. |

See I can't agree with any of you. I'm a confirmed catholic but I don't practice. I belive in A god but don't believe any of us know who or what he might be. I equate it to the quarrels I have with Yankee's fans. No matter how good your team is, no matter how good your argument is, my team ALWAYS has a chance. In fact in my mind my team ALWAYS has a better chance than your godamn line up... in fact I would RATHER FIGHT YOU to determine my fate than let fate determine itself... Who's with me? Fight it out, may God choose who is victorious? Let us FIGHT to prove who's right. Edited Wed Apr 11 2007, 04:11AM |

Monsterman...I am quite confused as to exactly how the entire big bang theory is out the window; just because one person, even the creator of an idea, changes his or her views and says that now they think the idea is wrong that does not thereby automatically null and void said idea. Also, with the creation of the earth lets see...there were fragments of debris floating around through space which eventually came together because of the gravitational pull of the larger pieces. Heat and radioactivity and such then fused these pieces into a large mass from which a chunk was later broken off by an asteroid thereby creating the moon. (there goes your whole god creating the world idea, since you get to dismiss my ideas like that i can do the same to yours). Also, if there are rules, but they can be broken and you are automatically forgiven if you just say so, then why have the rules in the first place? I can imagine that you will probably say that it's to get those that don't repent, but who is to really say that people truly repent? As for angrytoasters..i agree with the multiverse theory and applaud you as being someone who knows of it. Returning to monsterman, somehow you find that you always have money or are provided for when you give money to the church. Have you actually tested this theory by not paying for a while and seeing if everything starts fucking up and then it gets all better as if by magic when you start paying again? And then repeated this test just to make sure it wasnt a coincidence. You have your faith and purpose in life and I have mine, you act as though those who don't believe in your god or your particular form of religion have no faith or at least have the wrong faith. Well chew on this for a little while, all religions think that every other religion is an incorrect belief and essentially, in fact if not necessarily in practice, that all "infidels" or those who don't believe in that form of religion are going to hell. If religion is incorrect then nothing happens to us and we are free. If religion is right then essentially all religions are correct and thus we are all going to hell in numerous religions. You may say that if religion is correct then only one is correct, well most religions at least for the heaven and hell and god parts have just about the same ideas therefore if one is correct then the others by the same token are equally correct.

ima keep this short as well. Usually me and pocky and wild (who is yet to write his book) write long ass stories. Ima just say something that is on either side. Religion, whether it starts war's or not doesnt matter. Everyone IS different and it is our "competitive" nature as human beings to fight over everything. Thats what makes us humans. You say that we have religion so we have a god to have a scapegoat, yet your scapegoat for war IS religion itself. Whether there is a god or not doesnt matter either. I believe in God. I was born, raised, baptised, and confirmed catholic, yet i dont believe in the catholic religion. I believe most of the catholic religion is man-made. Not eating meat for lent, wtf is that shit. Where does it say u need to...idc. Purgatory is man-made. Jesus died so he can open the gates of heaven for the ppl who have good hearts whether or not they make mistakes. Nobody is perfect like God is. Why have purgatory to go to before hand to make up for your sins... IMO, purgatory is here, earth, reality. I choose to be christian. I believe in one god. I believe in Jesus. I believe in the Holy Spirit, as some sort of "gut instinct" or a "3rd nature." Living the way i do makes me a better person as a whole, keeps me from stupid fights, prevents me from killing ppl, keeps me honest. After all, wouldnt you rather live an honest life then a life of lies? Whether someone believes in religion or not, or if its real or not, is none of anyones concern. Yes some ppl blame there fighting and killing on religion, and get sent to jail by the law anyway. But who is to say they wont put the blame somewhere else. Son of Sam did, he blamed the talking dog... Yea, you may fight for what you believe in that there is NO religion, but that will just piss off the next person who believes in religion and he will kill in the name of god. Its one big circle of shit that cannot be stopped. Instead of focusing on if religion is real or not, if the past really did happen, if there really is an invisible force, we should focus on the present, and live our honest lives, instead of concerning ourselves with the way others live it. gLiTch out. Ok I am going to have to agree that just because a man changes his views dose not mean that his old thoughts on the subject are any more or less right then the current ones since neither of them can or will ever be confirmed. Also you never consider that both may be true. God could create the universe with a big bang. The word god doesn't mean a all powerful being but acully it is only a word for a creator. We call him go because he is our creator but a god can be a mortal just like us. What if god is already dead? You bring up the point of if god didn't make us then who did? I ask you then who created god? Did god create himself? If he did then where did he get the will to do that are you suggestion he was a concousness who decided to create itself and then create the universe? If that is the case then who created the concisenesses? See it is a paradox no matter if you trust in a god or not because if you think there is a higher create then it must have been created at some point and if you think that there is none then where did everything come form. As for your faith if you only believe in god because you seem to be better off when you donate to the church then you are not truly a follower of god. The point in faith is to trust in something you can not prove or see. You should not give money to the church because you feel that it will come back to you but rather you should give money because you truly believe that god is there and you wish to help spreed the word and help other feel the love and light that you already have. To feed the hungry and heal the sick. I think that a better use of that money would be to spreed gods will on your own by helping out random people to go out of your way and find people to help. I am sure that god would be more satisfied if you saved 1 man then if your church got a new golden statue of Jesus on the cross. .4ngryToasters wrote ... In some of my books man becomes a higher god creates god which creates man which becomes god. goes back and creates the gods. I have always thought that a amusing answer to the question. I also like the idea of a mortal god. Nightrider wrote ... Nonetheless, Israel is the holy land that was given to the Israelites from God, not Palestine morons. I agree with what Amped said as well. Go climb a water tower, silly atheists. I am sorry but you are wrong the land is promised to all of them. The fact is they share the same god and the same faith just varying towards the end of it. So yes they were promised the land back when they were Jews and they are the same religion just one is living in the old ways and the other are a new branch of it. In the end all religions are really just Jews, Budist, or Aitiest. They are just different walks of the 3 religions. There are some smaller religions like what the Egyptians believed in but almost everything falls under those 3 categories. Even Vodo is messed up Christianity mixed with superstitions and tribal beliefs in worshiping the land. As for god keeping you form killing yourself then you are wrong. You kept yourself form killing yourself but you feel that it was divine intervention. Having faith is good and all but if you feel that poverty and such can happen because god gives up free will then how is it that he can interfere in your death? I am not trying to discourage your faith but I think that you should better thing out your believes and confirm god in your heart and not try to prove it. Faith is something you believe with your heart and soul even though it is not a justified belief you still feel that it is right. As for man they are not evil or good since those two thing are bias depending on your perspective. We were made the way we were and are able to do horrible things. The thing is who are you to claim that a act is evil? What if that which seems evil is a act of god and will work towards the greater good? I have always loved the dark hero for this reason. His actions and intent seem to be evil but in the end things turn out good because of his evil actions. The truth of the matter is you cant have evil without good and you can not have happiness without dispare. It is like trying to have light without darkness it is imposable because they are comparisons to each other. If you always were happy then that which makes you happy becomes normal and you no longer feel the joy from it and eventually fall into dispare which makes you search for something greater to make you happy. This is often what presses for evil deeds. People no longer can find joy so they seek greater things which make them step on the back of others to get it. Then the good person will step on them to suppress them from their goals. The good man is evil because he did the same thing as the evil man but the good man is viewed as good for helping the other people. Finally I pose the question "If god wants us to be good and kind to everyone then why would he create people who have a urge to find greater and greater means of happiness?" You would think in his all knowing nature he would see the problem with this and think ahead to eliminated it. If you say that he wanted us to choose our own fate then he is knowingly setting us up and there for cant be the all caring god and if he doesn't know the answer then he is not all knowing. The fact is that it will never all add up. Also the way you are acting towards athiest is in itself a act ageist god. He wants you to love your fellow man despite what they they may think. To tell them to go fuck off or die or anything like that is like spitting in his face. Your faith in god seems to be quite shallow i think that you should look for deeper understanding of your own faith. |

Here is a question for you and I know some of you may whine or complain about this question but whatever...there are many different forms of this question but here is one: (presuming god is all powerful as religion makes him out to be) can god create a burrito so hot that he himself cannot eat it? |
